ESD SecureAccess Washington (SAW) login loop issue - can't access my unemployment account
Is anyone else having issues with SecureAccess Washington today? I've been trying to log in for the past hour to file my weekly claim, but the site keeps redirecting me back to the login page after I enter my username and password. No error messages, just sends me right back to login. I've tried clearing cookies, different browsers (Chrome and Edge), and even my phone. Nothing works! My claim is due by tomorrow and I'm starting to panic. Anyone experiencing the same thing or know what's going on?

•Glad it's not just me, though sorry you're dealing with it too. Have you called the technical support line yet? I'm about to try that.

This happens sometimes when there's site maintenance or high traffic. Try these steps: 1. Clear ALL browser data (not just cookies) 2. Disable any ad blockers or VPN 3. Wait 30 minutes before trying again 4. Try using incognito/private browsing mode If your claim is due tomorrow, you technically have until 11:59pm tomorrow to file, so you still have time. Don't panic yet!

•Thanks for the suggestions! I just tried incognito mode and still got the login loop. I'll try clearing all browser data and waiting a bit. Good to know I have until midnight tomorrow - that's a relief!

This is a known issue with SAW that happens periodically. The problem is that their authentication system sometimes gets stuck in a loop where it can't properly validate your session. In addition to what others suggested, you can try: 1. Use a completely different device if possible 2. Try a different internet connection (like your phone's hotspot instead of home wifi) 3. If you have a password manager, try manually typing your credentials instead The ESD technical support can also reset your session on their end, but reaching them can be challenging.

When I had this problem last month, I used Claimyr to get through to an ESD agent who fixed it on their end. The tech explained that sometimes account permissions get stuck in a weird state and they need to reset something on their side. Saved me days of frustration - here's their site if you need it: claimyr.com. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3

•Thank you! I just tried all the technical suggestions and still can't get in. I might have to try this service if I can't get through by phone today. Did they fix your account quickly once you reached someone?

•Yeah, it only took the agent about 5 minutes to fix once I got through. They said they had to clear some permission flag in their system. Apparently it's a common enough issue.

•Caps lock is definitely off, and I'm using the link directly from esd.wa.gov. I think it's definitely something on their end since several people are having the same issue.

I just want to say the entire ESD system is GARBAGE! Every single time they do an "upgrade" something breaks. This happened to me twice last year - once I missed my filing deadline because of THEIR technical issues and then they had the nerve to delay my payment and make me fill out extra paperwork explaining why I filed late! This state agency needs a complete overhaul, it's absolutely ridiculous how poorly it functions in 2025. We deserve better!

•While I understand your frustration, it's worth noting that ESD did implement a policy that technical issues on their end are considered good cause for late filing. If you document the issue (screenshots help) and explain it when you're able to file, they typically waive any penalties. Still frustrating though!

UPDATE: I finally got in! For anyone else having this issue, what worked for me was clearing ALL browsing data (like everything - history, cookies, cached images, etc.), restarting my computer, and then waiting about 45 minutes before trying again. Also used a direct link from the ESD website rather than a bookmark. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Good to hear! This particular issue tends to resolve itself within 24 hours typically, but your solution of clearing everything and waiting usually speeds up the process. For anyone else reading this later - if you're experiencing a similar issue, try the steps mentioned and remember to document the problem (screenshots, notes with times/dates) in case you need to explain a late filing.
