ESD website forcing password reset loop - can't access my UI account
Is anyone else having issues accessing their ESD account today? Every time I try to log in, it immediately redirects me to a password reset page, but when I follow the steps nothing happens. I've tried 5 different times and keep getting stuck in this weird loop. I need to file my weekly claim TODAY or I'll miss the deadline. Has the website crashed or is this just happening to me? My anxiety is through the roof right now!

•So it's not just me! Have you found any workaround yet? My payment is already delayed from last week and I can't afford to miss another one.

This is a known issue that started last night after their system maintenance. What browser are you using? I've found that Firefox works better than Chrome with the ESD website when they're having technical difficulties. Also, try clearing your cache and cookies before attempting to log in again. If that doesn't work, wait about 30 minutes between attempts because multiple failed logins can trigger their security system to temporarily lock your account.

•I'm using Chrome! I'll try Firefox right now and clear everything. Do you know if they'll extend the weekly claim deadline if their system is down? I'm supposed to file by midnight tonight.

•Yes, if there's a documented system outage, they typically extend the deadline by 24-48 hours. But I'd still try to file today if possible. You can also try using an incognito/private browsing window - that sometimes bypasses the loop issue without having to clear all your cache.

I had thsi EXACT problem like two months ago during their "routine maintenance" 🙄 Lost a whole week of benefits because their stupid system wouldn't let me file on time. They said I could appeal but then denied it saying I should have "tried harder" to file my claim on time. Like what was I suppose to do when their website is broken???

•That's terrible! Did you try calling the technical support line specifically (not the regular claims line)? I've found that sometimes works better for website issues. But honestly the whole ESD system needs a complete overhaul - it feels like it was designed in 1998 and never updated properly.

If you're really worried about missing your weekly claim deadline, you might want to check out Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was stuck in a similar situation last month when the ESD website was acting up, and Claimyr helped me actually get through to a live person at ESD rather than getting disconnected or waiting forever. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. The agent I spoke with was able to file my weekly claim over the phone and noted in their system that I had tried to file online but couldn't because of their technical issues.

This seems to be a widespread issue today. I work with unemployment claimants and have received multiple reports about this exact problem. ESD is aware of the login issues and their IT team is working on it. For anyone experiencing this problem: 1. Try using a different browser (Firefox or Edge seem to work better than Chrome currently) 2. Clear your browser cache and cookies 3. Try incognito/private browsing mode 4. If none of these work, you can file your weekly claim by phone using the automated system at 800-318-6022 5. If you miss the deadline due to verified technical issues, you can request a backdate for your weekly claim with good cause I've also heard from claimants that logging in very early in the morning (5-6am) or late at night (after 10pm) sometimes works better when they're having system issues.

•Thank you for this detailed response! The incognito mode suggestion worked for me. Do you know how long they expect the system issues to continue? I'm worried about next week too.

•Glad to hear incognito mode worked for you! According to the ESD technical bulletin I received this morning, they expect to have this particular issue resolved by tomorrow afternoon. However, they're planning another system maintenance this weekend (Saturday night from 11pm to Sunday 2am), so there might be additional temporary issues during that time. I always recommend filing mid-week rather than waiting until the deadline when possible.

Is anyone else having a different problem where after finally getting logged in, the "File Weekly Claim" button just doesn't appear anywhere on the dashboard? I finally got past the password reset loop using incognito mode but now I can't find where to actually file my claim!

•That usually means one of two things: either your benefit year has ended and you need to file a new claim, or there's an issue with your claim that needs addressing before you can file again. Check the "Alerts" section on your dashboard - it should tell you if there's a specific action needed. If there are no alerts, try clicking on the "Claim Summary" section, and you might find the weekly claim filing option there instead of on the main dashboard.
