ESD website login keeps resetting without error message - tried for months
I'm about to lose my mind with the ESD website login issues! For the past two months, I've been trying to access my unemployment account and it's been impossible. Every time I enter my username and password, the page just refreshes back to the login screen without ANY error message. No explanation, no 'incorrect password' warning, nothing - it just resets as if I did nothing at all. I've tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, even Edge), cleared my cache/cookies, and made sure I'm typing everything correctly. Still nothing! Has anyone else dealt with this bizarre login loop? I need to file my weekly claim and I'm terrified of losing benefits because I literally cannot get into the system. Help!

•I'll try incognito right now! Crossing my fingers this works because I'm getting desperate.

The silent refresh issue is actually pretty common with the ESD SecureAccess Washington (SAW) integration. Here are some troubleshooting steps that have worked for others: 1. First, make sure you're logging into SAW first, not directly into ESD 2. Try a different device completely (phone instead of computer) 3. Make sure your password doesn't contain special characters - the system sometimes rejects them without warning 4. Check if your account was locked due to too many attempts (you'll need to call for this) 5. Try resetting your password again through the SAW system, not ESD If none of these work, you might have an account flag that requires agent intervention.

•Thanks for these detailed steps! I've definitely been going through SAW first. I did reset my password recently but still having the same issue. I'm wondering if my account is locked, but there's no message telling me that. So frustrating!

Honestly this is CLASSIC ESD. Their systems are deliberately designed to make it impossible to get benefits. I've been dealing with them for years and it never gets better. The login issues are just the beginning - wait till you get stuck in adjudication for 3 months with no explanation. They WANT you to give up.

•come on, that's a bit much. their systems suck but it's not some conspiracy. it's just typical govt technology underfunding + outdated systems.

After dealing with a similar login issue last month, I discovered it was because my account had been flagged for identity verification that I didn't know about. The system doesn't tell you this - it just blocks login without explanation. Unfortunately, the only solution was calling ESD directly. I wasted days trying to get through on the phone lines until I found Claimyr (claimyr.com). They connected me to an ESD agent within 30 minutes when I had been trying for days on my own. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 My issue ended up being a simple identity verification flag that the agent removed in minutes. Might be worth trying if nothing else works!

•Thank you! I've been trying to call ESD for weeks without getting through. I'll check out that service because at this point I need to speak to someone directly. My weekly claims are piling up and I'm worried about my benefits.

have u tried loging in really early in the morning? my brother says the site works better at like 6am when less ppl are on it. sometimes the site just gets overloaded and does weird stuff like that refresh loop.

•This is actually good advice. I've found that ESD's systems tend to work much better very early in the morning or late at night. Between 10am-3pm is usually when the most issues happen due to high traffic. Their servers clearly can't handle peak volume.

I work in IT and have dealt with the ESD website extensively. That refresh without error usually happens for one of these reasons: 1. Browser compatibility issues (try using Chrome without any extensions) 2. Cookie conflicts (completely clear ALL browsing data, not just recent) 3. Account security flag (requires agent intervention) 4. Java/JavaScript issues (make sure it's enabled) 5. Network problems (try a different network - some public WiFi blocks secure government sites) Also, check if your account is linked to an old email address you no longer have access to. If they sent a verification email that you never responded to, this can cause the silent login failure.

•Thank you for these technical suggestions! I've tried Chrome without extensions but not completely wiping ALL browsing data - I'll give that a shot. I didn't think about email verification, but now that you mention it, I did change my email recently. I'll check if that might be causing the issue.

•I tried incognito but still having the same problem :( I think I'm going to have to call them directly. Seems like the only solution at this point.

My wife had this EXACT problem!!! For her it turned out her account was flagged for "suspicious activity" whatever that means. She had to call and speak to a tier 2 support person who unflagged her account. The annoying part is they never sent an email or anything to tell her about this! The system just silently blocked her. Good luck getting through on the phone though lol it took her like 80 calls.

•This is extremely common unfortunately. ESD's security system flags accounts for all kinds of reasons but doesn't notify claimants. The only way to resolve it is by talking to a claims specialist who can see the account notes and remove the flag. The phone system is definitely the biggest hurdle.

UPDATE: I finally got through to ESD using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. Turns out my account WAS flagged for identity verification because I had logged in from a different location when I was visiting my parents last month. The agent was able to remove the flag in about 5 minutes, and now I can log in perfectly fine. I wish they would just TELL YOU there's a problem instead of silently blocking access! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

•Glad you got it resolved! This is unfortunately very common with ESD's security system. For future reference for anyone reading this thread: if your login suddenly stops working with no error message, it's almost always an account flag that requires calling in. The system really should provide better error messages.
