ESD finally showing payment issued but not in my bank account - how long to actually receive funds?
I've been fighting with ESD for weeks! First got disqualified for some reason (they said I didn't provide sufficient work search, which was BS), then my status changed to pending for like 4 weeks. FINALLY today it's showing as PAID in the ESD portal, but there's nothing in my bank account yet. I'm seriously stressing because my rent is due in 3 days and I was counting on this money. Do payments only process on business days? How long does it typically take from when ESD says "paid" until the money actually hits your account? I've never had to wait this long before and I'm getting worried something's wrong with my direct deposit info.

Congrats on finally getting through adjudication! When ESD shows "paid" status, it typically takes 24-48 business hours for the funds to appear in your account. So if it showed paid today, you might not see it until tomorrow or possibly Monday if your bank doesn't process deposits on weekends. Double-check your direct deposit info in your eServices account to make sure it's correct - sometimes people have old accounts listed.

•Thanks for the info! The bank info should be right since I've been getting my tax refunds to the same account. Will banks even process these on weekends? I'm thinking probably not until Monday now which means I'll have to call my landlord 🤦♀️

sometimes it takes like 3 days. i had same thing happen and freaked out but then it just showed up randomly. depends on your bank too, some are faster than others

•Which bank do you have? I'm with BECU and wondering if anyone else with them knows how long it usually takes.

If this is your first payment after being disqualified and then reinstated, it might take slightly longer than usual. The system can sometimes take 2-3 business days to process first-time payments. But if ESD is showing it as paid, that's a great sign! The money is on its way. Some banks also don't post deposits that come in after their processing cutoff time until the next business day. So if ESD sent it late in the day, your bank might not show it until their next processing cycle.

•This is exactly right. Also worth noting that if you have a credit union, they sometimes take an extra day compared to big banks. I've had payments show as "paid" on Wednesday not hit my WSECU account until Friday morning. But they ALWAYS come through eventually if the ESD portal shows paid.

CONGRATS!!!! I know that feeling when it FINALLY shows PAID! Such a relief!! Just FYI - I was in the same boat last month. Was stuck in adjudication for 8 weeks (!!!) and then when it finally showed paid it took 3 business days to hit my account. I have Wells Fargo if that helps.

The ESD website is often misleading about this. "Paid" just means they've issued the payment, not that they've actually sent it to your bank yet. In my experience it's typically: Day 1: ESD changes status to "paid" Day 2: ESD processes the ACH transfer to your bank Day 3-4: Your bank processes the deposit So realistically, you're looking at 2-4 business days from when you see "paid" to when you have access to the money. It's annoying they don't explain this anywhere on their website!

•This is ridiculous!! They should just say "payment initiated" or something if they haven't actually sent the money yet. "Paid" implies the money has been sent! Why does every part of this process have to be so confusing???

If you need to contact ESD to check on the status of your payment, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in a similar situation where my payment was stuck in processing for days beyond what seemed normal. I couldn't get through on the regular ESD phone line after trying for hours. Used Claimyr and got connected to an agent who was able to tell me exactly when the deposit would post and what was causing the delay. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 - definitely worth it for peace of mind if your money doesn't show up by Monday.

•Thanks for the tip! If it's not there by Monday afternoon I'll definitely check this out. Did you actually get through to a real person? Last time I tried calling ESD I waited 2 hours then got disconnected.

•Yes, got through to an actual agent in about 7 minutes! The disconnection thing happened to me too before - so frustrating. The ESD agent I spoke with was actually really helpful once I got through.

•I sent in all my job search logs through the document upload in eServices. I also wrote a detailed appeal explaining that I did meet the requirements (had to do 3 job search activities each week). I think what helped was I also submitted screenshots of job applications and emails from employers. Took forever but eventually they reversed it.

Just checking back - did your payment arrive? Most banks should have processed it by now if ESD issued it on Friday.

•Yes! It came through this morning (Monday). Looks like BECU doesn't process on weekends. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!

•Great news! Glad it worked out. And yes, that's typical - most financial institutions don't process ACH transfers on weekends or holidays.
