ESD direct deposit delayed - still stuck on 'processing' status?

Has anyone else noticed their ESD payment is still showing as 'processing' today? I filed my weekly claim on Sunday evening like usual, and by Wednesday morning I typically see the deposit hit my account. It's now Thursday afternoon and the eServices portal still shows 'processing' status. My claim hasn't had any issues for months, so I'm getting worried something's changed. No messages in my inbox about additional information needed. Is this happening to others or should I be concerned? My rent is due next week and I'm cutting it close this month.

Ugh, that's frustrating but at least I'm not alone. Have you tried calling at different times? I wonder if there's a system-wide delay or something.

There was an announcement on the ESD website about a system update that might delay some payments this week. It's on the banner at the top of the homepage. They said all payments should still be processed by the end of the week, but it might take 1-2 days longer than usual. I'd give it until tomorrow before panicking.

Thank you! I completely missed that announcement. That's a relief - I'll check tomorrow and hopefully it's there by then.

This happens fairly regularly with ESD. Their payment processing system sometimes gets backlogged, especially if they're doing any system maintenance or updates. As long as your claim status shows 'paid' and not 'pending' or 'hold,' the money is coming - it's just moving slowly through their system to your bank. If you're seeing 'processing' that's actually good news - it means your claim was approved and the payment is in transit. Just slower than usual this week.

Mine does say 'paid' in the payment history, so that's reassuring. I just got worried when it didn't show up in my account on the usual day. Thanks for explaining the difference!

The same thing is happening to me! My payment is always in my account by Wednesday morning, but nothing today. I was freaking out because I have auto-payments scheduled for tomorrow. Really wish they would send an email or something when they know payments will be delayed.

RIGHT?? how hard would it be to send us a text or email warning about delays?? they have all our contact info

Last time this happened to me, I had to call my utility company and explain the situation. They were actually pretty understanding and didn't charge me a late fee when I explained it was an unemployment payment delay. Might be worth calling if you're worried about those auto-payments.

After spending TWO DAYS trying to get through to ESD about this same issue (my payment is also delayed), I finally got through using Claimyr. It's a service that helps you bypass the phone queue. Cost me a bit but saved my sanity! The agent confirmed there's a processing delay affecting many accounts this week due to quarterly system maintenance. She assured me payments should post by tomorrow. Check out their video demo if you're interested: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 - their website is claimyr.com. Seriously worth it when you absolutely need to speak to someone at ESD.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it one more day before trying that. Did they give any explanation for why there wasn't a notification about the maintenance?

The agent I spoke with said they DID post a notice on the website, but it was only visible when you first log in and disappeared after that. Classic ESD communication fail! She also mentioned they're working on a text alert system for the future, but who knows when that will actually happen.

i had this issue last month and it turned out to be my bank's problem, not ESD! the deposit was sent but my bank was holding it for 24hrs due to some new fraud prevention thing they started. might check with ur bank too

That's a good point - I hadn't considered that. I'll give my bank a call too just to check if they're holding it on their end.

Glad to hear everyone's payments are coming through! For future reference, when ESD does system maintenance, it's usually mentioned in advance on their Twitter account (@ESDwaWorks) and sometimes on their Facebook page too. Those tend to be more up-to-date than the website banners. Might be worth following them if you want to stay in the loop about potential delays.
