ESD adjudication disappeared after refresh - glitch or normal?
So I've been claiming unemployment for about 11 weeks now, and I always double-check my ESD account on Thursdays to make sure everything's good before my Friday payment. Today I logged in and nearly had a heart attack when I saw my claim was suddenly in adjudication AGAIN! No explanation, no messages, nothing - just suddenly back in adjudication after 11 weeks of smooth sailing. I panicked, logged out, and when I logged back in 10 minutes later... the adjudication status was completely gone! Now it shows normal like nothing happened. Is this some kind of weird ESD system glitch? Has anyone else had their claim briefly show adjudication and then disappear after refreshing/logging back in? I'm worried it might pop back up and delay my payments next week.

Yep, happened to me twice last month! ESD's systems are super glitchy lately. First time I called and waited 3 hours only for them to tell me nothing was wrong with my claim. Second time I just ignored it and it disappeared by itself the next day. I think their computer system runs updates at weird times and sometimes shows incorrect statuses.

•That's actually really reassuring to hear. Did your payments continue normally even after seeing that glitch? I'm worried this might be a warning sign of something actually going wrong with my claim.

the website does that sometimes lol. dont worry about it unless it stays there for more than a day or you get an actual email/letter. the esd website is trash

•While I wouldn't call the website "trash," there are definitely known technical issues with the ESD claim management system. These temporary status changes usually resolve within 24 hours and aren't cause for concern unless they persist or you receive official correspondence about an actual adjudication issue.

THEIR WHOLE SYSTEM IS A DISASTER!! I've been fighting with ESD for 5 months now and I swear they do this stuff on purpose to mess with people. One day everything's fine, next day BOOM adjudication, then it disappears, then my payments are "pending" for no reason, then they're not. The worst part is YOU CAN NEVER GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE to explain what's happening!!!! I've called over 200 times in the past month. TWO HUNDRED CALLS!!!! Either busy signal or they disconnect you after 2 hours on hold. The entire unemployment system is designed to frustrate people into giving up.

•If you're having trouble getting through to ESD by phone, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. It's a service that essentially holds your place in line and calls you back when an ESD agent is available. Saved me hours of frustration when I had a similar issue with mysterious adjudication status changes. You can see how it works in their demo video: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their website is claimyr.com. I was skeptical at first but it actually worked - got through to ESD in about 40 minutes instead of spending days redialing.

My brother works in IT and he said government websites do maintenance at weird hours and sometimes show incorrect statuses during that time. It's probably nothing tbh.

This is a known issue with the ESD claims management system. The adjudication status occasionally appears temporarily during system updates or maintenance windows. Here's what you need to know: 1. If the adjudication status disappears after logging out and back in, it's almost certainly a display glitch 2. Real adjudication issues are accompanied by notices in your ESD secure message center 3. You would receive an official letter if there was a genuine adjudication issue 4. Your weekly payments will continue normally if this was just a glitch I recommend checking your claim status again tomorrow morning. If it still shows normal with no adjudication, you're fine. If the adjudication status returns and persists for more than 24 hours, then you should contact ESD for clarification.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I checked again this morning and everything still looks normal. No messages in my inbox either. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days just to be sure.

This exact same thing happened to me last year during my unemployment claim! I freaked out because I had already been through a real adjudication earlier and it was a nightmare that delayed my benefits for 6 weeks. The phantom adjudication disappeared after I logged out and back in though, and my payments continued without interruption. I think it's just one of those weird ESD system quirks.

•That's such a relief to hear! I was having flashbacks to when I first applied and got stuck in adjudication for 3 weeks. Really hoping this is just a display bug and not a sign of problems to come.

Has anyone else noticed that these "glitches" seem to happen right before holiday weekends or at the end of quarters? I swear they do this on purpose to delay payments and save money. My claim showed adjudication briefly last December right before Christmas and then again at the end of March. Both times it disappeared but my payments were delayed by "processing issues" for a week each time.

•While I understand your frustration, there's no evidence that ESD deliberately creates system glitches to delay payments. End-of-quarter and pre-holiday periods often involve system maintenance and updates, which can cause temporary display issues. These technical problems aren't targeted at claimants but are simply the result of outdated government IT infrastructure trying to handle complex benefit systems.

Update: I just called ESD about this issue (finally got through after trying for 3 days). The agent confirmed it's a known display issue in their system and said as long as the adjudication status disappears after logging out/back in and doesn't return, there's nothing to worry about. She said they're working on fixing it but no timeline for when it'll be resolved. Hope this helps others seeing the same problem!

•Thank you so much for sharing this information! You saved me hours of trying to call them. My status has remained normal for the past 3 days now, so I'm thinking it was definitely just a display glitch. Really appreciate you following up!
