ESD claim vanished after phone filing - not showing as pending/paid

Has anyone experienced this weird glitch with ESD? Yesterday I filed my weekly claim over the phone (couldn't access the website), and the automated system clearly said "your claim has been accepted." But today when I checked online, there's absolutely NOTHING showing for last week. No pending status, no payment processing, literally no record that I even filed! It's like the claim completely vanished. My previous weeks all show properly as paid. I've tried calling back about 15 times but can't get through to anyone. I'm seriously worried because I can't even re-file for that week now - the system says I've already claimed it, but there's no evidence anywhere. My rent is due next week and I'm counting on this payment. Has this happened to anyone else? Did your claim eventually show up or did you have to do something specific to fix it?

omg this happened to me back in february!!! the phone system is garbage, i swear it eats claims. mine eventually showed up after like 4 days but it was super stressful

Really? That gives me some hope! Did you keep trying to call them during those 4 days or did it just appear on its own?

This is actually a known issue with the phone system that ESD hasn't fully resolved. The confirmation message sometimes plays even when the claim doesn't properly transmit to the main database. Here's what you need to do: 1. Take screenshots of your account showing no claim for that week 2. Call the technical support line (not the regular claims line) at 855-682-0785 3. Specifically tell them you had a "transmission failure after confirmation" when filing by phone 4. Request they manually verify your claim attempt and enter it into the system Don't wait too long - if it's not resolved within 7 days of your filing date, you'll need to file an official late claim petition which is much more complicated.

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation! I've been trying that number all morning but I just keep getting the "we're experiencing high call volume" message and then it hangs up. Is there a specific time that's better to call?

I had something similar happen last month!! But mine was showing as "pending" with no status update for like 10 days. Then suddenly it changed to "disqualified" with NO explanation!!! I was freaking out because I'd done everything right. Turned out it was because their system flagged a "work search verification" issue even though I entered all my job search activities. The whole system is so glitchy. Yours might still be processing somewhere in their system but just not showing up on the dashboard.

That's even worse than what I'm experiencing! At least if mine said "disqualified" I'd know something happened. Right now it's like I never even filed. Did you manage to get yours resolved? If so, how?

Yeah, I had to file an appeal which was super stressful but got it fixed eventually. But your situation sounds different since there's no record at all. Have you checked your claimant notices in the dashboard? Sometimes there are messages there that explain things even when the claim status doesn't show anything.

This is a system synchronization issue that happens periodically. The phone system and online portal sometimes don't communicate properly for 48-72 hours. Before panicking, try these three things: 1. Clear your browser cache completely and log in again (sometimes it's just a display issue) 2. Check under "Decisions and Alerts" in your account, not just the payment history 3. Look at the "Weeks Summary" section which sometimes shows claims that don't appear elsewhere If after 72 hours nothing appears, then it's likely the claim truly didn't transmit properly. Unfortunately at that point, you'll need to speak with an actual ESD agent to have them manually verify your attempt and potentially enter it.

I've tried all three things you suggested. Cleared cache, checked Decisions/Alerts, and looked at the Weeks Summary - nothing showing up anywhere. It's been about 36 hours now, so maybe I should wait another day before completely panicking? I'm just worried since the phone system confirmed it was accepted.

this happened to my brother and ESD said he never filed even though the phone told him it was accepted!!! they made him do a late filing request and he had to wait an extra 3 weeks to get paid. total bs if you ask me, they should fix their broken system instead of making us jump through hoops

I've had a ton of issues with ESD's phone system too. After trying for days to get through, I found a service called Claimyr that helped me get connected to an actual agent. Basically they hold your place in line and call you when an agent is available. Saved me hours of redial frustration. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 that shows how it works. For something like your disappearing claim, you definitely need to talk to a human at ESD rather than just hoping it fixes itself.

I've never heard of that service before! Did it actually work for you? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point if it means getting through to someone who can help.

Yes, it worked for me twice when I had claim issues. The second time I used it was for a similar problem where my claim was stuck in some weird status. Got through to an agent who fixed it while I was on the phone. They call you when they've got an agent on the line, so you don't waste your day hitting redial.

The ESD system is SO FRUSTRATING!!! I've had numerous issues with claims disappearing, getting stuck, or showing incorrect status. The problem is they've patched together so many different systems over the years that don't communicate properly. The phone system operates on older technology that sometimes fails to sync with the web portal. You NEED to document EVERYTHING. Write down the exact date and time you filed by phone, any confirmation numbers they gave you, and how many times you've tried calling since. This will be crucial if you end up having to file an appeal or late claim petition. Also, if your weekly filing included any special circumstances (worked partial hours, refused work, etc.), those often trigger manual review which can cause claims to temporarily disappear from the system while being processed. But in those cases, it should still show as "pending" not just vanish completely.

I didn't get a confirmation number from the phone system - it just said "your claim has been accepted" and that was it. Should it have given me a number? Now I'm even more worried. There weren't any special circumstances though - it was a normal week with no work and normal job search activities.

After reading through this thread again, I think what you're experiencing is specifically the "phantom claim acceptance" issue. This has been documented since they upgraded their IVR phone system in January 2025. The phone system says the claim is accepted, but it never actually gets transmitted to the main database. You absolutely need to speak with an ESD agent at this point. The longer you wait, the more complicated it gets. Since it's been 36 hours already, I'd recommend trying again tomorrow, but don't wait beyond 72 hours. When you do get through, use these exact words: "My weekly claim filed by phone on [date] received a verbal acceptance but shows no record in the system." This will trigger them to check a specific log in their system that tracks IVR claim attempts, which can prove you actually tried to file on time.

Thank you - I'll use those exact words when I finally get through. I'm going to try calling right when they open tomorrow at 8am, hopefully that will work. I appreciate the specific advice!

UPDATE: I managed to get through to ESD this morning! For anyone experiencing this in the future, I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned above and got connected to an agent within 30 minutes instead of spending all day redialing. The agent confirmed there was a "submission error" on my claim - apparently the phone system accepted it but it never transferred to the main database. They were able to see in their logs that I had attempted to file, so they manually entered my claim while I was on the phone. It should now process normally and I should get paid in 2-3 business days. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions! This community saved me so much stress.

That's excellent news! Thanks for reporting back. This is a perfect example of why it's so important to address these issues quickly rather than waiting to see if they resolve on their own. For anyone else reading this thread later - phone filing issues almost always require speaking with an actual agent to resolve.
