Weekly claim by phone not registering online - still shows I need to file!
So frustrated right now! I called the ESD automated line at 1am this morning to file my weekly claim (couldn't sleep and figured why not). The system went through all the questions and said my claim was accepted at the end. But when I checked my eServices account about an hour ago, it's still showing that I need to file for the week! Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a delay between phone filing and the online system updating? Or did my claim not actually go through? I really need this week's payment and I'm worried if I try to file again online I'll get flagged for filing twice.

This happens sometimes with the phone system. There's usually a 24-48 hour delay before the online system updates to show your claim was filed. I wouldn't file again because that could definitely cause problems. Just check tomorrow and if it still says you need to file, then you might need to call an agent.

•Thanks! That's a relief. I'll wait until tomorrow afternoon before panicking then. Just weird because when I've filed by phone before it usually updated within a couple hours.

Did you get a confirmation number when you filed by phone? Always write that down! If you didn't get a confirmation number at the end of the call, there's a good chance your claim didn't actually process. The automated system sometimes disconnects before completing the full process, especially during high-volume periods.

•Shoot, I'm trying to remember if there was a confirmation number at the end... I think there was but I didn't write it down. I was half asleep honestly. Do you think I should just try filing online now to be safe?

DON'T file again!!! Filing twice will trigger a fraud alert and lock up your account for WEEKS. I did this last year and it was a nightmare. Just wait 24 hours for the system to update - if it still shows as not filed by tomorrow afternoon, THEN you need to call ESD directly.

•Oh god, thanks for the warning! I definitely don't want my account locked for fraud investigation. I'll wait it out.

I gad this happen 2 me last month!! The stupid phone system said my claim went thru but online it still showed as needing to file. I waited 2 days and nothing changed so I ended up having to call ESD. took me 4 hrs of redialing tho

•When this happened to me, I used Claimyr to get through to ESD after struggling for days trying to reach them. It made an appointment for me and I got a callback from an actual agent within about an hour. Saved me the hassle of constant redialing. They have a demo video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their website is claimyr.com - definitely worth checking out if you end up needing to talk to someone at ESD about this.

the phone system and the website run on totally seperate systems!! they NEVER sync right away. its usually by like wednesday that they match up in my experience. as long as you got to the end of the phone claim where it said "your claim has been accepted" youre fine

•Appreciate the reassurance! It did say my claim was accepted at the end, so hopefully I'm good. Just hate this waiting game when money's tight.

I file by phone every week and have never had this issue. Are you sure you went all the way through all the questions and got the confirmation at the end? The system asks like 20 questions and if you hang up early or the call drops, your claim doesn't process. Try calling the claims status line (different number) to check if your claim went through rather than just relying on the website.

•Oh! I didn't know there was a separate claims status line. Do you know that number? And yes, I'm pretty sure I went through all the questions about work search activities, earnings, ability to work, etc.

•It's the same main number (800-318-6022) but you select the option to check on an existing claim instead of filing a new weekly claim. It should tell you the status of your most recent filing.

Just following up - did your claim status ever update? I'm curious because I'm having a similar issue now.

•Yes! It finally updated about 36 hours later. Showed as processed and payment is pending now. So looks like it was just a delay in the systems talking to each other. Hope yours updates soon too!

For future reference, you can also check the "Payment History" tab on eServices. Sometimes that will show your claim as processed even when the main dashboard still shows you need to file. It's a good way to double-check without having to call. The ESD systems don't always communicate well with each other, so checking multiple places can give you peace of mind.

•That's a great tip, thank you! I didn't think to check the payment history tab. Will definitely look there next time before freaking out. This whole unemployment system is so stressful to navigate.
