Weekly claim shows as unfiled on eServices after filing by phone at 4am - glitch?
I'm really confused and don't want to mess up my claim. I called in early this morning around 4am to file my weekly UI claim through the automated phone system (completed all the questions and got the confirmation). But when I checked eServices a few hours later, it's still showing that I need to file for the week! Has anyone else experienced this delay between phone filing and the system updating? I'm worried about filing again online and somehow creating a duplicate claim or getting flagged for fraud. Should I wait longer for it to update or go ahead and file online too? What's the usual lag time between phone filing and seeing it update online?

This happens all the time with the phone system! The ESD database usually takes 24-48 hours to sync up after you file by phone. I freaked out my first time too, but don't file again online or you might create problems for yourself. I've been on UI since January and always file by phone - just give it until tomorrow afternoon to show up in your online account. If it still shows as unfiled after 48 hours, then you should call the claims center.

•Thanks for responding! That's a relief to hear. I'll wait until tomorrow afternoon then. Do you know if this delay affects when I'll get paid? I'm really counting on that money hitting my account on time this week.

•Not everyone can do it online though. My internet is super spotty at my rural place and sometimes the phone is the only option. But yeah, the online system is definitely faster at updating your claim status.

The system delay between phone claims and eServices updates is a known issue. Phone claims are processed in batches, typically overnight, while online claims update almost immediately. Here's what you should know: 1. DO NOT file again online - this can flag your account for investigation 2. The phone system will give you a confirmation number - did you write this down? 3. Allow 24-48 hours for your claim to show as filed online 4. This delay will NOT affect your payment timeline if you've completed the claim by the weekly deadline If you need to verify that your claim was received before it shows online, you'll need to speak with an ESD representative. Unfortunately, that's extremely difficult right now due to high call volumes.

•I didn't write down the confirmation number, ugh! I should've known better. But I definitely completed the whole process and it said my claim was successfully filed. I'll wait the 48 hours like you suggested. Thanks for the detailed explanation!

I had this EXACT problem last month!!! Filed by phone on Sunday at 2am and it didn't show up online until Tuesday morning. Then I panicked and tried calling ESD 15 TIMES over two days and couldn't get through to anyone!!!! The whole system is completely BROKEN and it's ridiculous we have to deal with this stress while already struggling to find work. Eventually my claim showed up but I lost two days of sleep worrying about it.

•I feel your pain. Last time I tried calling ESD it took me three days of constant redialing just to speak to someone. And then they transferred me to another department and I got disconnected! 😡

If you need to speak with an ESD agent to confirm your claim was properly received, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in a similar situation last month and couldn't get through to ESD after dozens of attempts. Claimyr got me connected to an agent in about 25 minutes instead of spending days redialing. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 That said, if you received a phone confirmation, your claim is probably fine and just needs time to process. The systems typically sync overnight.

•Thanks, I might try that if my claim doesn't show up by tomorrow afternoon. Did you have to provide a lot of personal info to use the service?

•They just need your phone number so they can call you back when they have an ESD agent on the line. It was pretty straightforward and saved me hours of frustration.

•That's unlikely to be related to the phone vs. online filing method. Payment delays are typically caused by other factors such as eligibility issues, job search verification, or adjudication. The method of filing doesn't affect payment timing as long as you file before the weekly deadline. The only difference is how quickly your claim status updates in the online system.

•Yeah, I definitely got to the end where it said my claim was successfully submitted. I answered all the questions about job search activities and being able/available to work. That's why I'm confused about why it's not showing up online yet.

Just checking back - did your claim update in the system yet? It should show as filed by now if you did it yesterday morning.

•Yes! It finally updated this morning. Took about 30 hours to show up in the system. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance! Next time I'll file online to avoid the stress.
