ESD phone claim disappeared online - shows 'weekly UI claim to file' even though I already filed
I'm completely baffled by what just happened with my weekly claim. I filed my UI claim by phone this morning around 7:15 AM (I always use the phone system, never filed online). When I checked the ESD website about an hour later, it showed the usual "Processing...IVR" status, which seemed normal. But when I checked again this afternoon to see if it had changed to "Paid" status, the website is now showing "You have a weekly UI claim to file" - as if I never filed at all today! When I called the automated system again, it's not giving me the option to file a weekly claim, which suggests the phone system knows I already filed. Has anyone experienced this weird glitch where the phone system and online system seem to be contradicting each other? I'm planning to wait until tomorrow to see if it resolves itself rather than trying to file again online. Just worried my payment might get delayed or lost in the system somehow.

omg this EXACT thing happened to me last month!! the phone system accepted my claim but the website acted like i didnt file at all. i panicked and filed online too and ended up with a HUGE mess where they thought i was trying to double claim. took like 3 weeks to sort out. def dont file again online!!

•Oh no! That sounds like a nightmare. Thanks for the warning about filing online - I definitely won't do that now. Did your claim eventually process correctly? Did you have to call and talk to an agent to sort it out?

This is a common synchronization issue between ESD's phone system and their web portal. What happens is the IVR (phone) system registers your claim in one database, but there's sometimes a delay in updating the web interface. In most cases, it resolves itself within 24-48 hours. Here's what I recommend: 1. Take a screenshot of the website showing "You have a weekly UI claim to file" 2. Wait until tomorrow afternoon to check again 3. If it still shows the same message after 48 hours, you'll need to contact ESD directly 4. Make sure to document the date/time you filed by phone DO NOT file again online as this can flag your account for potential fraud review, which causes significant delays.

•THIS IS WRONG INFORMATION!!! The system is broken and they WILL lose your claim. I waited like they told me to and my claim disappeared completely. I had to FIGHT for 5 weeks to get my money. Call them immediately!!! Don't wait!!

had something similar happen last year... the phone and website were showing different things. turned out the website was just slow to update. by the next morning everything was fine and my payment processed normally. i think their systems just don't talk to each other in real time.

If you're really worried about it and can't get through on the regular ESD line (which is always jammed), I'd recommend trying Claimyr. I was in a similar situation where my claim seemed to disappear and I needed to talk to someone ASAP. Claimyr got me through to an actual ESD agent in about 25 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. They have a video demo that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Their website is claimyr.com if you want to check it out. Seriously saved me a ton of stress.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I might give that a try if it's still showing the same status tomorrow. Did the agent actually fix your issue when you got through?

•Yes! The agent could see that my claim had been filed by phone even though the website wasn't showing it. She manually updated something in their system and it appeared correctly within a few hours. Definitely worth the peace of mind.

This is a known issue with ESD's system integration. Here's what's happening: The phone system (IVR) records your claim in its database immediately, but the web portal pulls data from a different database that gets updated through a synchronization process that runs at scheduled intervals (not continuously). This can create a window where the two systems show different status information. In most cases, your claim IS properly recorded in their main system, but the web status just hasn't updated yet. Here's what to check tomorrow: 1. Log in and look for your claim in the "Weekly claims" section, not just the homepage message 2. Check if your benefit week is listed under claim history 3. Look at your payment history to see if processing has begun If by tomorrow afternoon you don't see any progress, then it might be worth contacting them. But 90% of the time, this resolves itself by the next business day.

•Thank you so much for explaining how their system works! That makes a lot of sense. I'll check all those sections tomorrow and see if there's any progress. This definitely makes me feel better about the situation.

Update: You all were right! I checked this morning and now the website is showing my claim as "Processing" with yesterday's date. Looks like it just needed some time for the systems to sync up. Thank you everyone for the advice and keeping me from panicking or filing twice!
