ESD glitch asking me to resubmit same weekly claim I already filed - should I do it?
I'm so frustrated with ESD right now! I filed my weekly claims for the last two weeks, completed all three required job search activities for each week, and the system said they were submitted successfully. I can even see them in my file. But now I'm getting this alert telling me to submit my weekly claim AGAIN for the week I already filed! The weird part is that the job search activities for that second week aren't showing up in my job search log even though I entered them. Has anyone else seen this happen? I've been trying to call ESD for two days but just get disconnected every time. I sent them a message through eServices but who knows when they'll respond. Should I go ahead and submit the same claim twice? Seems like it might mess things up even more, but I don't want to miss my payment either. This system is absolutely ridiculous!

Yes! This happened to me back in February. The system glitched after I submitted my weekly claim and kept prompting me to file again for the same week. I panicked and resubmitted, and it created a huge mess that took weeks to sort out. The system flagged it as a potential fraud issue because it looked like I was trying to claim the same week twice.

•Oh no! That's exactly what I'm worried about! Did you eventually get it fixed and receive your benefits? How long did it take?

Don't submit again! This is actually a common ESD system glitch that happens when their system does maintenance over the weekend. The alert usually disappears within 24-48 hours when their system catches up. If you submit again, it will create a duplicate claim that will trigger fraud prevention flags and potentially freeze your account. Check your payment status under the "payment history" tab - if it shows "processing" for the week in question, that means your original claim was received correctly despite the alert.

•Thank you for this! I just checked and it does show "processing" under payment history. That's a relief! I'll ignore the alert and give it another day or two. Wish ESD would fix these glitches or at least warn people about them.

I got the EXACT same issue last week!! It's so stressful. I also noticed the job search activities for that second week weren't showing in my log even though I definitely entered them. I'm thinking it's some kind of database syncing problem on their end. The job search entries finally showed up after about 3 days, but the alert asking me to refile was still there for almost a week. I just ignored it and eventually got paid.

•This is why I HATE the ESD system! They make these "upgrades" without testing them properly and then regular people have to suffer while their benefits are delayed. I've been dealing with them for months and every other week there's some new system problem. They need to hire better IT people and actually TEST their software before releasing it!

This is a known issue with ESD's system that happens periodically during their maintenance cycles. What's happening is that the claim data and the job search log data are stored in different databases that sometimes get out of sync. Here's what you should do: 1. Check your payment history tab to confirm your claim is in the system (sounds like it is) 2. Take screenshots of everything just in case 3. Wait 3-5 business days for the system to sync up 4. Do NOT submit a duplicate claim as this will cause adjudication delays If the alert doesn't go away after 5 business days or your payment doesn't process, then you'll need to contact ESD directly.

•Thank you for the clear explanation! I've taken screenshots of everything just to be safe. The payment history does show my claim is processing, so I'll just wait it out.

I've been trying to get through to ESD for weeks about a different issue and it's impossible. After 30+ calls getting hung up on by their automated system, I found a service called Claimyr that got me connected to an ESD agent within 15 minutes. Worth every penny when you need to speak to someone urgently. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 showing how it works. Their website is claimyr.com if you're stuck and need to talk to an actual person at ESD.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep this in mind if the issue doesn't resolve itself in a few days. Getting through to an actual person at ESD feels impossible sometimes.

•does it actually work tho? seems sketchy to pay for something the govt should provide for free

•It worked for me. I was desperate after weeks of trying. Got through to an agent who fixed my issue in about 10 minutes. I understand the hesitation though - ESD should definitely have better phone systems.

•Yes, unemployment claims must be filed weekly in Washington state. You need to submit your claim every week that you want to receive benefits, and you need to complete and document 3 job search activities per week. If you've been filing monthly, you've likely missed several weeks of potential benefits and should contact ESD immediately.

Has your alert disappeared yet? Just curious if it resolved itself like people said it would.

•Yes! It finally went away yesterday and I got my payment deposited this morning. So glad I didn't resubmit and create a mess. Thanks everyone for the help!
