TWC randomly reviewing my approved unemployment claim. Bills piling up. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My unemployment benefits were already approved, but now they're saying it's under review again. I don't get it. Bills are piling up, and I'm starting to panic. Has anyone else dealt with this? What's the deal with these random reviews?

Ugh, I feel you. The system is so messed up rn. I had something similar happen to me last month. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates or messages? Sometimes they don't even bother to notify you directly π

β’Thanks for the tip. I checked my account but there's nothing new there. It's so frustrating!

β’No prob! Yeah, it sucks. Maybe try calling them? I know its a pain, but sometimes you gotta be the squeaky wheel to get the grease, ya know?

I've been through this exact situation. Here's what I learned: β’ Random reviews are actually pretty common, especially if there's been a change in your employment status or earnings β’ Sometimes it's triggered by your former employer contesting the claim β’ The review process can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks (I know, it sucks) β’ Keep certifying for benefits during this time, even if payments are paused β’ Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online message β’ If you're really in a bind, reach out to local charities or churches for temporary assistance Hang in there, OP. I know it feels like you're drowning, but you'll get through this.

β’Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! It's really helpful to know what to expect. I'll definitely keep certifying and start documenting everything.

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

β’20 bucks? That's steep for a phone call...

β’I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

β’Can you explain more about how it works? Do they give you a specific time for the call?

β’Sure! You choose when you want them to start calling. They keep trying until they get through. When an agent picks up, they forward the call to you. No specific time, but you don't waste your day on hold.

Have you tried the TWC app? Sometimes it has more up-to-date info than the website.

β’This! Also, try calling on Wednesdays. For some reason, it seems to be their least busy day.

Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'review' claims right when rent is due? π€ Coincidence? I think not!
