EDD benefit payment rejected due to form errors - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My benefit payment got rejected and I think it's because I messed up filling out the forms. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm kinda freaking out here.

Ugh, been there done that. The forms can be so confusing! First thing you should do is call them and explain the situation. They might be able to help you correct it over the phone.

•Yeah, the phone lines are a nightmare. But keep trying! Sometimes early morning works better.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing my mind trying to get through.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your forms. Make sure every field is filled out correctly. 2. If you find any errors, fill out a new form. Don't try to correct the old one. 3. Submit the new form with a letter explaining that this is a correction. 4. Keep copies of EVERYTHING. 5. Follow up with a phone call (use the trick mentioned above if you can't get through). 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, mistakes happen. The system is confusing on purpose (I swear). Don't beat yourself up about it. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: check their website for any specific instructions on correcting forms. Sometimes they have a special process.

Quick question - did you receive any notification about why it was rejected? Sometimes they send an email or letter with specific details.

•No, I didn't get anything specific. Just a generic 'payment rejected' message. That's why I'm so confused 😕

•Oof, that's rough. Definitely try to get someone on the phone then. You need more info to fix this.
