TWC payment delay because of Veterans Day holiday? Expected deposit date?
I requested my TWC payment on Monday like usual, but just realized it was also Veterans Day. Will this holiday delay my unemployment deposit? I'm counting on that money for bills due Friday and normally get my deposit on Wednesday or Thursday. Does anyone know if the holiday will push everything back a day or two? I'm getting worried since my electric bill is due and I can't afford any late fees right now.

I've been through this before with holiday payment requests. Yes, it typically pushes everything back by one business day. Since Veterans Day was Monday, you'll probably get your deposit on Thursday or Friday this week instead of the usual Wednesday/Thursday timeframe. The TWC processing system doesn't run on federal holidays, so they start processing Tuesday morning instead of Monday.

•Thanks for the info! Friday will still work but cutting it close. Wish TWC would send notifications about these holiday delays.

The TWC specifically states on their website that payment requests made on a holiday will be processed the next business day. Since Monday was Veterans Day, your request would actually be processed on Tuesday, with the deposit typically coming 2-3 business days after processing begins. So expect it Thursday or Friday at the latest. If you absolutely need to confirm when the payment will arrive, you can try calling TWC directly at 800-939-6631, but as you probably know, the wait times are ridiculous. I've had success using Claimyr.com to get through to an agent quickly - they got me connected to TWC in under 10 minutes last month when I had a payment delay issue. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh

•Thanks for explaining! I'll try to call tomorrow, and if I can't get through I might check out that service. I've tried calling before and gave up after an hour on hold.

Your bank might also hold deposits for an extra day after holidays, happened to me in September. The TWC sent it but my bank didn't process until the next day. Maybe call your bank too?

•Good point! I have Chase and they've done that before with other deposits.

To give you the most accurate information: TWC payment processing follows the federal holiday schedule, and Veterans Day is indeed a federal holiday. Here's exactly what happens: 1. Monday payment requests get processed Monday night/Tuesday morning 2. When Monday is a holiday, processing moves to Tuesday night/Wednesday morning 3. ACH transfers typically take 1-2 business days after processing So in this case, your payment won't begin processing until Wednesday morning, which means the earliest you'll see it is Thursday, but Friday is more likely. For future reference, the holiday schedule for TWC payment processing delays is available on the TWC website under Payment Information. Planning ahead for these holiday delays can help avoid tight situations with bills.

•Thank you for breaking it down so clearly! I'll note all the federal holidays on my calendar for future reference. Guess I need to call my electric company and see if they'll give me a day or two extension just in case.

THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE US FAIL!!! They NEVER mention these delays in advance and then expect us to just deal with late fees and angry landlords. I've been on unemployment three times and EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY causes problems. And don't even get me started on how they expect us to somehow magically know which days are "federal holidays" versus regular holidays. Is Presidents Day a delay? Columbus Day? WHO KNOWS! The TWC sure won't tell you until it's too late!!!!

•While I understand your frustration, there is actually a calendar of federal holidays on the TWC website under the FAQ section. But I agree they could do a better job of sending reminders before holidays.

Quick update for anyone finding this thread later - I just checked my TWC account and my payment from Monday (Veterans Day) has a processing date of Wednesday with expected deposit of Friday. So that confirms what others have said about the two-day delay. Hope this helps with planning!
