TWC payment request on Wednesday - when will holiday affect direct deposit timing?
Anyone know if requesting payment on Wednesday means our direct deposits will be delayed because of the holidays? I'm supposed to request this Wednesday but with Thanksgiving and everything I'm worried about when the money will actually hit my account. Last time there was a holiday it seemed like my payment was late but I can't remember how many days. Really need this money for rent due on the 1st... will the TWC offices being closed mess things up??

In my experience, requesting payment on Wednesday before Thanksgiving will probably push your direct deposit to Monday or Tuesday after the holiday weekend. TWC has to process requests and then there's the bank processing time too. The TWC offices being closed Thursday and Friday definitely affects the timeline.

•Crap, that's what I was afraid of. My rent's due on the 1st and I'm already late on other bills. Do you think there's ANY chance it could come through earlier?

The official TWC payment schedule shows that payment requests made on Wednesday typically process in 2-3 business days. With Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday also being observed as a holiday for state offices, plus the weekend, your direct deposit likely won't process until the following Monday at earliest, potentially hitting your account Tuesday or Wednesday. I'd recommend explaining the situation to your landlord ahead of time if you think you'll be cutting it close with rent. Most are understanding if you communicate proactively about a short delay.

•Thank you for explaining. I'll definitely reach out to my landlord. This is my first time on unemployment and the payment schedule is confusing me. I wish TWC had more clear info about holiday schedules on their website.

The whole system is DESIGNED to make us stress about money!! I requested right before Christmas last year and didn't see money for almost TWO WEEKS!!! The TWC agents don't care that we have bills to pay. Call your bank too - sometimes they can see pending deposits before they actually post to your account.

•TWO WEEKS seems excessive... I've never had a delay longer than 4-5 days even with holidays. Maybe there was another issue with your claim? Did you have any work search problems or earnings to report that week?

•No, it was definitely because of their holiday schedule AND a "system update" they were doing. Then when I finally got through to someone they said there was nothing they could do to speed it up. Thanks for nothing TWC!!

If you need to reach TWC to check on the status of your payment during the holiday week, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in the same boat last Memorial Day weekend and couldn't get through the busy signals for days. Used their service and got connected to a TWC agent in about 40 minutes instead of struggling for hours with busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Regarding your payment - based on my experience, payment requests made Wednesday before Thanksgiving typically hit accounts by Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. The holiday plus weekend definitely adds delays.

•Thanks for the tip about Claimyr! If my payment doesn't show up by Tuesday I'll definitely need to talk to someone at TWC. Already dreading trying to get through on the phone.

•I used Claimyr last month when my payment was stuck in pending status. Worth it just to avoid the constant busy signals and getting hung up on!

Friendly reminder that your payment request date doesn't change just because of holidays - if Wednesday is your designated request day, make sure you still request on Wednesday even with the holiday. I've seen people miss their request window thinking they should wait until after the holiday, which just causes bigger delays.

•Oh! Good point, I wouldn't have thought of that. I'll definitely still request on Wednesday like normal. Thanks for the heads up!

To specifically address your question about timing: Payment requests made on Wednesday, November 27, 2025 will likely be processed by TWC on Monday, December 1, 2025. Then your bank typically needs 1-2 business days to post the funds to your account, so expect it around Tuesday-Wednesday (December 2-3). If you need the money specifically for rent due on the 1st, I strongly recommend talking to your landlord now rather than waiting until the last minute. Many landlords have grace periods of 3-5 days for rent payments.

•Thank you for the specific dates! That really helps me plan. My landlord does give a 3-day grace period, so if it hits my account by the 3rd I should be okay. Fingers crossed the processing goes smoothly.

•This is correct. You can check under "Claim and Payment Status" on your TWC account. Once it shows "processed" with a payment date, you can expect the deposit in your bank account within 1-2 business days of that date.

Just went through this exact situation last month with the Veterans Day holiday! My payment request was on Wednesday and it took until the following Tuesday to hit my account. The TWC website showed it as "processed" on Monday, but my bank (Chase) didn't post it until Tuesday morning. I'd definitely recommend checking your TWC account status online frequently - once it shows processed, you'll have a better idea of when to expect the actual deposit. Also, if you have a credit union they sometimes post deposits faster than big banks during holiday weeks.

•That's really helpful to know about the Veterans Day timing! I have a small local credit union, so hopefully they'll process it faster than the big banks. I'll definitely keep checking the TWC website status - didn't know it would show "processed" before the bank deposit. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I've been through this a few times with holiday weekends. From my experience, requesting on Wednesday before Thanksgiving usually means your deposit won't hit until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. The TWC processing stops Thursday-Friday for the holiday, then you have the weekend, so they don't resume until Monday. Then add 1-2 days for your bank to actually post it. One tip - log into your bank's mobile app or website around Monday evening to check for pending deposits. Sometimes you can see the deposit is coming even before it officially posts to your available balance. Also, if you're really tight on the rent deadline, consider asking your landlord about a payment plan or explaining the situation now rather than waiting until you're actually late.

•This is really solid advice! I'm actually in a similar situation as the original poster - my payment request is this Wednesday and I'm nervous about the holiday delays. The tip about checking for pending deposits on Monday evening is great, I didn't think about that. My bank (Wells Fargo) sometimes shows pending ACH deposits a day early. Also totally agree about talking to the landlord proactively - most are way more understanding if you give them a heads up rather than just being late without explanation. Thanks for sharing your experience with the holiday timing!

Just wanted to add my two cents since I went through this exact same stress last year! I requested payment on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and it didn't hit my account until the following Wednesday - so about a week total. The TWC website showed it as "processed" on that Monday, but my bank (Bank of America) took an extra two days to actually post it. Here's what I learned: definitely still make your request on Wednesday like others said, but also call your landlord ASAP to explain the situation. Most landlords would rather know ahead of time than be surprised by a late payment. Also, if you have any friends or family who might be able to spot you for rent temporarily, now's the time to ask rather than waiting until the last minute. The holiday payment delays are super frustrating but unfortunately pretty predictable with TWC. Hang in there - the money will come, it's just the timing that's rough!

•Thanks for sharing your experience! A full week delay is exactly what I was worried about. I'm definitely going to call my landlord today to give them a heads up about the potential delay. Better to be upfront about it now than scrambling later. It's frustrating that TWC doesn't make these holiday schedules more clear on their website - would save us all a lot of stress and guesswork. At least now I know what to expect and can plan accordingly. Really appreciate everyone's advice in this thread!

I work at a local bank and can give you some insight on the processing side. When TWC sends ACH payments during holiday weeks, they typically batch process them on the first business day after the holiday (Monday in this case). Then banks have 1-2 business days to post ACH credits. So if you request Wednesday before Thanksgiving, expect TWC to process Monday Dec 1st, and your bank to post it Tuesday Dec 2nd or Wednesday Dec 3rd at the latest. Pro tip: if you have direct deposit set up, check your account around 6am on Tuesday - many banks post overnight ACH deposits early in the morning. Also, definitely communicate with your landlord now rather than waiting. Most property managers deal with this exact situation every holiday season and are usually flexible if you're upfront about it.

•This is incredibly helpful insight from the banking side! I had no idea about the 6am posting time - I'll definitely be checking my account early Tuesday morning. It's reassuring to hear that this is a common situation during holidays and that most property managers are used to dealing with it. I'm feeling much better about reaching out to my landlord proactively now. Thanks for taking the time to explain the actual processing timeline from a bank employee's perspective - this kind of behind-the-scenes info is exactly what we need to plan better!

Been dealing with TWC payments for over a year now and holidays are always a nightmare for timing. Here's what I've learned: Wednesday requests before Thanksgiving typically don't hit accounts until Tuesday/Wednesday the following week. The system is frustrating but predictable once you know the pattern. My advice - set up text alerts with your bank for incoming deposits so you know the moment it hits. Also, TWC's payment status page updates faster than the money actually arrives, so check that Monday to see if it's been processed. And definitely talk to your landlord now - I've found that being proactive about potential delays goes a long way. Most understand that government payments get delayed during holidays. One last tip: if you're really in a bind financially, some local food banks and assistance programs ramp up help during the holidays. Might be worth looking into just in case. Good luck!
