TWC PIN Reset: Trouble Accessing Texas Unemployment Account - Need Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting my PIN number for my unemployment account. I've been trying to apply for benefits but I can't get past this step. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to recover or reset the PIN? I'm getting really frustrated and could use some help.

Hey OP, just wondering - how long have you been trying to sort this out? I've been wrestling with the system for weeks now and I'm about ready to throw in the towel.

The system can be a pain, but persistence pays off. Keep trying and use all available resources.

For those who are having persistent trouble with their unemployment accounts, using Claimyr might be beneficial. Claimyr is a service that helps you get through to live agents by staying on hold on your behalf. While it does come with a $20 fee, the convenience and time saved can be worth it, especially during high call volumes. However, it's important to remember that not everyone may feel comfortable paying for this service, and some might prefer to keep trying through regular channels. If you choose to try Claimyr, make sure to read reviews and understand how it works. Balancing patience with exploring different options can often lead to finding an effective solution to these bureaucratic hurdles.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your personal info (SSN, address, DOB, etc.) 2. Call first thing in the morning when they open 3. If you can't get through, keep trying every 15 minutes 4. When you do get through, clearly explain you need to reset your PIN 5. Be super nice to the agent (even if you're frustrated) 6. Write down any new PIN or instructions they give you Hope this helps! Hang in there, we're all in the same boat. 🚒

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try this tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🀞

This is solid advice. I'd add: have some coffee ready, you might be in for a long morning lol

Great tips! It's also helpful to have a notepad ready in case you need to jot down any extra details.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works like a charm πŸ˜‰

That's clever! Definitely a good way to bypass the initial hold queue.

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard sometimes they can help push things through faster.

PSA: Don't forget to document EVERYTHING. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. It'll save you headaches later if there's any dispute.

Yall ever think about how wild it is that we're all here struggling with the same broken system? Like, how many people are out there just giving up cuz they can't figure it out? πŸ˜”

There needs to be more awareness and advocacy for a smoother system. Many don't have the time or energy to keep pushing.

Ugh, been there done that. The whole system is a nightmare. Have you tried calling them? It took me like 3 days of constant redialing to finally get through to a human.

Raul Neal

β€’

Yeah, I've been trying to call but no luck so far. It's so frustrating! How long did you have to wait on hold once you got through?

0 coins

Jenna Sloan

β€’

Honestly, it was like 2 hours. Bring a book or something to keep you busy lol. Good luck!

0 coins

I had a similar experience. Sometimes it helps if you call right when they open. Less chance of encountering a busy line.

Have you checked if there's an online option to reset your PIN? Sometimes they hide these things in the most random places on the website. πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

β€’

How does this even work? Can you give more details?

0 coins

Sadie Benitez

β€’

Sure! You go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and they start calling for you. When they get a real person, they connect you. Saved me a ton of time.

β€’

While Claimyr sounds useful, be sure to weigh the cost versus potential wait times. If you're frequently needing assistance, those $20 fees can add up quickly.

I just went through this exact same thing last month! Here's what finally worked for me: I called the TWC customer service line at 800-939-6631 right at 8:00 AM sharp (set multiple alarms!). When you get through the automated system, press 1 for English, then 1 again for unemployment benefits, then 4 for PIN issues. The key is to have ALL your info ready - SSN, previous employer info, and any reference numbers from previous claims. When I finally got a human (took about 45 minutes on hold), they were able to reset my PIN on the spot and I was back in my account within 10 minutes. Don't give up - it's frustrating but definitely doable! πŸ’ͺ

This is super helpful, thank you! I'm definitely going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning with all my info ready. The specific menu options are really useful - I've been fumbling around trying to figure out which buttons to press. Fingers crossed I can get through! 🀞

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Been trying for over a week to get my PIN sorted out. Reading through all these comments is making me feel less alone in this struggle. I'm definitely going to try some of these strategies - especially calling right when they open and having all my documents ready. It's crazy that we all have to become experts in navigating broken government systems just to access benefits we're entitled to. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips! You're absolutely right about feeling less alone - this thread has been such a relief to find! I've been dealing with the same PIN issue for the past few days and was starting to think I was the only one having this problem. It's reassuring to see so many people sharing practical advice. I'm planning to try the early morning calling strategy tomorrow too. We shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops, but at least we can help each other figure it out! Good luck with your call! πŸ€

I'm dealing with the same PIN reset nightmare right now! Been stuck for about a week and it's so frustrating. Reading through everyone's experiences here is honestly making me feel way better - I was starting to think I was doing something completely wrong. I'm definitely going to try the early morning calling strategy that several people mentioned, and I love the tip about having all your documents organized beforehand. It's wild that we have to become phone system experts just to access our own benefits, but I'm grateful for this community sharing all these workarounds. Going to set my alarm for 7:55 AM tomorrow and give it a shot! Thanks everyone for the solidarity and practical advice πŸ’ͺ

You've got this! πŸ’ͺ The early morning strategy really does work - I had success with it too. One thing I'd add is to maybe try calling a few minutes before 8 AM and just keep redialing until you get through the busy signal. Sometimes the system opens up a minute or two early. Also, don't get discouraged if the first day doesn't work - I had to try for three mornings in a row before I finally got connected to a human. The key is persistence! Good luck tomorrow morning! 🀞

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! It's so frustrating when you're already dealing with unemployment stress and then the system itself becomes another barrier. I've been trying for about a week too and getting nowhere. Reading all these comments is giving me hope though - sounds like persistence and timing are key. I'm definitely going to try the early morning calling strategy that everyone's recommending. Has anyone had success with the online chat feature, or is calling really the only way? Also wondering if there are certain days of the week that are better than others for getting through. Thanks for starting this thread - it's reassuring to know we're all in this together! πŸ™

β€’

Hey Kayla! I tried the online chat feature a few times but it was either down or had crazy long wait times - like 200+ people in queue. Calling seems to be the most reliable option based on what I've seen here. As for timing, I've noticed Monday mornings are absolutely brutal (everyone calling after the weekend), so maybe try Tuesday-Thursday if possible. Friday can be hit or miss too. The early morning strategy really is your best bet - I finally got through yesterday morning at 8:02 AM after trying for days! Hang in there, you'll get it sorted! πŸ’ͺ

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Been trying to reset my PIN for almost two weeks and it's driving me crazy. The system keeps timing out whenever I try to do anything online, and getting through on the phone feels impossible. I've tried calling at different times of day but always get that busy signal or end up in an endless hold loop. Reading through all these comments is actually really helpful though - I had no idea so many other people were struggling with the same thing. Definitely going to try the early morning calling strategy that everyone's recommending. It's ridiculous that we have to become experts at gaming the phone system just to access benefits we've paid into, but I guess that's the reality. Thanks for posting this - sometimes just knowing you're not alone in the struggle makes a huge difference! 🀞

I totally feel your pain! Two weeks is rough - I'm on day 10 myself and was about ready to pull my hair out before finding this thread. The timing out issue is so annoying, right? I've had the same problem with their website just crashing whenever I try to do anything. Based on what I'm reading here, it sounds like the phone really is the only reliable way to get this sorted. I'm planning to try the 7:55 AM calling strategy tomorrow - maybe we'll both get lucky! It's crazy that accessing our own benefits requires this level of strategic planning, but hey, at least we've got this community sharing the inside tips. Hang in there! πŸ’ͺ
