TWC ID.me verification stuck 'processing' for days - can't access my benefits

So frustrated with this ID.me verification process! I submitted all my documents for my TWC unemployment account 4 days ago, and it still says 'processing' when I log in. My benefits are on hold until this verification completes, and I'm getting seriously worried about paying rent next week. Has anyone else experienced long wait times with ID.me verification? The TWC website said it should only take 24-48 hours but I'm way past that now. I've tried calling TWC but can't get through to a real person. Is there anything I can do to speed this up or should I just keep waiting?

same thing happened 2 me last month!! took almost a WEEK before mine went thru. the system is completely overloaded right now

A week?! I can't wait that long... Did you do anything to make it go faster or just wait it out?

I work with TWC claims regularly, and ID.me verification timelines have been increasing lately due to system load. Here's what you need to know: 1. Normal processing is 24-48 hours, but currently taking 4-7 days for many people 2. Make sure you completed BOTH steps: the ID.me verification AND linking your ID.me account to your TWC portal 3. Check your email (including spam folder) for any requests for additional information 4. If you're approaching the 7-day mark, try the ID.me support chat function on their website The good news is that your benefits will be backdated once verification completes, so you won't lose any payments you're entitled to.

Thank you for such detailed info! I did complete both steps, but I'll check my spam folder. It's a relief to know the payments will be backdated at least.

Mine was stuck processing for 6 days!!!! It's soooo annoying they make us jump through all these hoops just to get our benefits! I swear TWC deliberately makes this hard just to discourage people from collecting...

I don't think it's deliberate obstruction - the ID.me system is used by multiple government agencies and gets overwhelmed. But I agree it's frustrating when you're waiting on money you need for essentials.

did u try logging out and back in? sometimes that helps refresh the status. also make sure ur using chrome browser not safari, i heard safari causes problems with id.me

I've tried logging out and back in several times, and I'm using Chrome. Still stuck on processing... but thanks for the suggestion!

I was in the exact same situation last month - verification stuck for 5 days while bills were piling up. I finally got through to a TWC agent using Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they were able to manually check my verification status and push it through on their end. Saved me another week of waiting! They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh The agent told me sometimes the verification completes on ID.me's side but doesn't update properly in the TWC system, so having an agent check directly can solve the problem.

That sounds promising! I hadn't heard of Claimyr before. Did they actually help you get through to TWC faster? I've been trying for days with no luck.

Yes, I got through to TWC in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours getting busy signals. The agent I spoke with said ID.me verifications are one of the most common issues they're helping with right now. Definitely worth trying if you're in a time crunch with bills coming due.

This ID.me nonsense is ridiculous! I've been on unemployment twice and both times had problems with their verification. The first time it took 3 days, this last time almost 10 days!!! And calling TWC is basically impossible. I spent 6 HOURS last Tuesday just trying to get through. The whole system needs to be overhauled.

10 DAYS?! omg that's insane!! i thought my 6 days was bad!!

One tip that might help: double-check if your ID.me verification actually completed but just didn't update in the TWC portal. This happens sometimes. Go directly to ID.me and log in, then check your verification status there. If it shows as verified on ID.me's side, you can try the "reverify" option in your TWC account which sometimes syncs them up correctly. Also, verification timing often depends on the type of documents you submitted. Driver's license + passport typically processes faster than other document combinations.

That's a great tip! I just checked ID.me directly and it says I'm verified there! Going to try the reverify option in my TWC account right now. I used my driver's license and birth certificate, maybe that's why it's taking longer.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know that I tried the reverify option after checking ID.me directly (thanks @helpful_person!) and it worked! My account is now showing as verified in the TWC portal too. Going to request my payments right away. Thanks everyone for your help!

Great news! This is a common desync issue between the two systems. Glad you got it resolved without having to wait the full processing time.
