ID.me verification glitch with TWC - verified but stuck pending

Hey everyone, I'm completely stuck with my unemployment claim and losing my mind. I verified through ID.me over 2 weeks ago (got the green checkmark and confirmation email), but my TWC claim is still showing 'pending ID verification' when I log in. I've called TWC literally 63 times this week - either busy signal or disconnected after 2+ hours on hold. I even tried contacting ID.me support who said everything looks fine on their end! My rent is due next week and I'm seriously panicking. Has anyone dealt with this weird glitch where TWC doesn't recognize your completed ID.me verification? Any suggestions on how to get through to an actual human at TWC?

This is a known issue that's been happening since they updated their systems in January 2025. There's a disconnect between ID.me's verification system and TWC's database that's affecting thousands of claims. I went through this exact nightmare last month. The only way I resolved it was by getting someone on the phone at TWC who could manually verify that my ID.me was completed and push my claim through.

Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy! Did you just keep calling until you got through? I'm desperate to talk to someone but can't waste another week just hitting redial.

omg same!!! verified 3 weeks ago and STILL waiting. this is so stupid. why make us do all this verification if it doesnt even work right???

It's absolutely ridiculous! Have you found any way to get through to someone? I'm wondering if I should try the local TWC office in person.

Contact your state representative!!! I was in the same boat for almost a month and getting nowhere. Called my state senator's office and explained the situation. Two days later I got a call from TWC saying there's actually a widespread glitch happening with the ID.me system right now. Even though people are successfully completing verification on ID.me's side, the confirmation isn't properly transferring to TWC's system. They told me they're aware of the issue and working on it, but meanwhile claims are just sitting there pending.

That's actually really helpful info, thank you! I'll try calling my senator's office tomorrow. At least now I understand what's happening.

I work with unemployment cases regularly, and this ID.me sync issue is affecting a lot of people right now. TWC is working on a system-wide fix, but in the meantime, each affected claim needs manual intervention. You have three options: 1. Keep calling TWC until you get through (frustrating but eventually works) 2. Contact your state representative or senator (often gets faster results) 3. Request an expedited payment due to financial hardship via the TWC portal message system (mixed results) For what it's worth, TWC knows this is happening but their customer service is overwhelmed with the volume of affected claims. The technical team is supposedly prioritizing a fix, but no official timeline has been announced.

Thank you so much for the detailed information! I'll try the hardship request while also contacting my representative. Do you happen to know if visiting a local TWC office in person would help?

I tried reaching TWC for 2 weeks about this same issue and finally got through using Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that holds your place in the TWC phone queue and calls you when it's your turn. Saved me from having to redial 100 times a day. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh When I finally got through, the TWC agent confirmed exactly what others are saying - there's a technical issue with how ID.me verification is syncing to their system. The agent had to manually check my ID.me status and override the pending flag in their system. My claim was processed the next day.

Thank you! I've never heard of this service before but I'm going to check it out right now. At this point I'm willing to try anything to avoid another week of constant calling.

THE TWC IS USELESS!!!!! They make us jump through all these hoops with this stupid ID.me garbage and then it doesn't even WORK?!?!? I've been waiting for 5 WEEKS with bills piling up while these incompetent bureaucrats can't even get their systems to talk to each other. And good luck getting through on the phone - I've called HUNDREDS of times. This is how they treat hardworking Texans who paid into the system??? DISGRACEFUL!!!

I know its frustrating but its probably not the fault of the ppl who work there... my cousin works at TWC and says they're totally overwhelmed with the new system rollout. They know about the problems but theres like 10,000 claims affected by this id.me thing. Try to be patient, they're working on it.

when i had this problem i went to the local twc office in person and they fixed it right there... took like 20 mins but better than calling forever

That's a great idea! I didn't even think about going in person. Is there anything specific I should bring with me? Like my ID.me confirmation or anything?

bring your id, social security card, and any emails from id.me showing you completed verification. also the determination letter if you got one.

Perfect, thanks! I'll gather all that documentation and try the office tomorrow morning.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread with what worked for me. After trying everything, what finally fixed my issue was: 1. Used Claimyr to get through to TWC (took about 3 hours instead of days of redialing) 2. Explained to the agent that I'd already completed ID.me verification 3. The agent had me verify my identity directly with them 4. They put a manual override in their system 5. My claim was processed within 24 hours The agent explained that they're implementing a fix for this issue in their next system update, but no exact timeline. Until then, getting a manual override from a TWC representative is the only guaranteed solution. Hope this helps everyone still dealing with this frustrating situation!

Thank you so much for coming back to update! I really appreciate all the help from everyone. I'm going to try Claimyr today and if that doesn't work, I'll head to the office in person tomorrow. Will update when I get this resolved for anyone else who finds this thread later.
