TWC still showing ineligible after ID.me verification - normal wait time?
Hey everyone, I'm pretty worried right now. I verified my identity through ID.me last Friday and thought everything would be fixed by now. When I checked my TWC account this morning, it's still showing as 'ineligible to receive benefits' with no explanation. Has anyone gone through this before? I'm starting to stress because my bills are piling up. Is this normal or should I be calling them? How long does it typically take for the system to update after ID verification?

same thing hapend to me last month. took about 10 days for my status to change after id.me. the system isnt automatic, someone at twc has to review ur verification and update ur claim manually. just keep checking everyday

10 days?! That's way too long. I've already been waiting almost a week. Do they not understand people have bills to pay?

The ID.me verification is just the first step in resolving eligibility issues. After you complete verification, it typically takes 7-10 business days for TWC to process it and update your claim status. If there are other issues besides identity verification affecting your eligibility, those will need to be addressed separately.\n\nIf you're approaching the 10 business day mark (so about 2 weeks total), then I'd recommend trying to contact TWC directly to check your claim status. Make sure you're also continuing to request payments even while showing as ineligible - this is important so you don't miss out on benefits once your claim is approved.

Thank you for explaining. I didn't realize there could be other issues besides identity verification. I'll keep requesting payments like you suggested. Is there any way to see what other issues might be affecting my claim?

THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED TO MAKE YOU GIVE UP!!!! I verified my identity THREE TIMES and it still took almost a month before they fixed my status. They make it as difficult as possible hoping you'll just stop trying. Keep requesting payments and document EVERYTHING.

While I understand your frustration, I wouldn't say the system is rigged. It's definitely overwhelmed and inefficient, but I've seen many claims get resolved successfully. OP, just keep following the process - most identity verification issues do get resolved within 2 weeks.

Have you checked your correspondence inbox on the TWC portal? Sometimes after ID.me verification, they send you a message requesting additional information or documentation to complete the process. This happened to me - I thought I was just waiting after verification, but they actually needed more info from me. Worth checking if you haven't already.

I just checked and there's nothing new in my correspondence inbox. It's so frustrating not knowing what's happening with my claim.

When I had this same problem last month, I used Claimyr to get through to a TWC agent right away instead of waiting on hold forever. Just went to claimyr.com and watched their demo video (https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh) and honestly it saved me so much headache. The agent was able to tell me exactly why my claim was still showing ineligible after ID.me verification - turned out there was another issue with my work separation that needed to be addressed. Without talking to someone directly I would've been waiting for nothing to happen.

Yeah it definitely worked for me. Got connected to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. Worth it when you're desperate to get answers.

Hi there, I actually work in HR and have helped several employees with TWC issues (though I'm not a TWC employee). The verification process through ID.me and then TWC's internal verification typically takes 5-10 business days. However, if your account is showing

Thank you for the detailed explanation! My separation was a layoff so I don't think there should be issues there, but maybe there's something with my wages. I'll definitely keep requesting payments and checking for correspondence.

It took exactly 8 business days for my status to change after ID.me verification. The key thing is that these are business days, not calendar days. So weekends don't count. If you verified last Friday, you're only at about 4-5 business days now. I'd give it until at least the end of next week before getting too worried.\n\nIn the meantime, definitely keep requesting payments on your regular schedule. Those payments will be processed retroactively once your eligibility issue is resolved.

That makes me feel better, thank you. I'll try to be patient for a few more days. This waiting game is just so stressful when you're watching your bank account dwindle.

has anyone got a message saying 'identity verification pending' after doing id.me? mine showed that for like 3 days then changed to eligible. maybe check if urs shows that message somewhere?

I don't see that message anywhere. It just says ineligible with no other details. The TWC website is so confusing.

Just wanted to follow up - have you seen any changes to your status yet? If you're still showing as ineligible and it's been more than 7 business days since your ID.me verification, I'd definitely recommend trying to contact TWC directly. Based on my experience, sometimes a simple call can get the process moving if something is stuck in their system.

Still no change! I'm calling tomorrow for sure. It's so frustrating that there's no way to check the status of the verification process online. Thank you all for the advice and support, I'll update once I know more.

I went through the exact same thing a few months ago! After ID.me verification, my status stayed "ineligible" for what felt like forever. It ended up taking about 12 business days total before it switched to eligible. The waiting is absolutely nerve-wracking when you're counting on those benefits. One thing that helped me was setting up text alerts through the TWC portal so I'd get notified immediately when my status changed. Also, make sure you're logging in every few days to check for any new correspondence - sometimes they'll request additional documents even after ID.me verification. Hang in there, it sounds like you're doing everything right by continuing to request payments. Most people I know who had ID verification issues eventually got them resolved, it just takes longer than it should unfortunately.

•Thanks for sharing your experience! 12 business days is reassuring to hear - I was starting to think something was seriously wrong with my claim. I just set up the text alerts like you suggested, hopefully that will help me know right away when something changes. It's good to know that most people eventually get their issues resolved, even if it takes longer than expected. The waiting really is the hardest part when you're stressed about finances.

I'm going through this exact situation right now too! Verified through ID.me about a week ago and still showing ineligible. Reading through everyone's experiences here is actually really helpful - I had no idea it could take up to 2 weeks for the system to update. I've been panicking thinking I did something wrong with the verification process. Going to keep requesting payments like Victoria suggested and try to be patient for another week before calling. It's such a relief to know this is normal and that most people eventually get it resolved. Thanks everyone for sharing your timelines!

•Sofia, you're definitely not alone in this! I'm actually in a similar boat - just hit the one week mark since my ID.me verification and still seeing that dreaded "ineligible" status. This thread has been a lifesaver for my anxiety too. It's crazy how TWC doesn't give you any indication that things are processing in the background. I've been checking my account obsessively every day thinking maybe I missed something or messed up the verification somehow. But hearing that 7-10+ business days is totally normal makes me feel so much better. We just have to trust the process I guess, even though it's torture when bills are due! Definitely going to keep requesting those payments and try to stay patient for another week like you said.

I'm dealing with this same issue right now! Completed my ID.me verification 6 days ago and my account is still showing ineligible. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been so helpful - I had no idea the manual review process could take this long. I've been stress-checking my account multiple times a day thinking something went wrong. What really caught my attention was Daniel's suggestion about checking the correspondence inbox for additional document requests. I just went back and double-checked mine but it's empty too. Also going to try setting up those text alerts that Giovanni mentioned so I don't have to keep obsessively logging in. It's frustrating that TWC doesn't give any indication that your verification is being processed or where you are in the queue. A simple "verification pending review" status would save so much anxiety. But hearing that most people get resolved within 2 weeks gives me hope. Thanks everyone for sharing your timelines and advice!

•Cassandra, I'm so glad this thread is helping you too! I was in your exact same position a few weeks ago - constantly refreshing my TWC account and panicking every time it still showed ineligible. The lack of transparency from TWC about what's happening behind the scenes is honestly the worst part. You're absolutely right that a simple "verification under review" status would eliminate so much stress. I ended up calling TWC after about 10 business days and found out my verification had actually been approved, but there was a separate wage issue that needed to be resolved. Sometimes the "ineligible" status can stick around even after ID verification if there are other issues with your claim. The agent was able to tell me exactly what was still pending, which was such a relief after weeks of wondering. If you're still showing ineligible after 8-10 business days, definitely consider calling or trying that Claimyr service Aaliyah mentioned. At least then you'll know if it's just processing time or if there's something else holding up your claim. Hang in there!

I'm in the same boat as many of you - completed ID.me verification 9 days ago and still stuck on "ineligible" status. This thread has been incredibly reassuring though! I was starting to think I was the only one dealing with this endless waiting game. What's really frustrating is that I called the regular TWC number twice this week and sat on hold for over 3 hours each time before giving up. The uncertainty is killing me because I have rent due next week and was counting on these benefits. Based on everyone's experiences here, it sounds like I'm right at that 7-10 business day window where things should start moving. Going to give it until early next week before trying that Claimyr service that Aaliyah mentioned - honestly at this point I'm willing to pay a small fee if it means actually talking to someone who can tell me what's happening with my claim. Thanks to everyone for sharing your timelines and keeping each other sane during this stressful process. It really helps to know this level of delay is unfortunately normal rather than a sign that something went terribly wrong!

•Donna, I completely feel your pain! I'm actually on day 8 since my ID.me verification and refreshing my account like it's going to magically change. The rent stress is so real - I've been doing mental math on which bills I can push off if this drags on much longer. What really resonates with me is your point about the uncertainty being the worst part. Like, if TWC just said "your verification is in queue, expect 10-12 business days" I could mentally prepare for that. But this limbo of not knowing if you're waiting normally or if something is broken is torture. I'm definitely going to look into that Claimyr option too if I don't see movement by early next week. At some point the peace of mind is worth a small fee, especially when the alternative is burning hours on hold with no guarantee of getting through. Fingers crossed we both see some progress soon - we're so close to that 10 business day mark where most people seem to get resolved!

I'm experiencing this exact same situation right now! Just hit the 5 business day mark since my ID.me verification and my account is still showing ineligible. Reading through everyone's experiences has been such a relief - I was convinced I had somehow messed up the verification process or that my claim was permanently broken. The most helpful thing I've learned from this thread is that it's actually a manual review process that takes 7-10+ business days, not an automatic system update like I assumed. I've been checking my account multiple times per day expecting instant results, which was just driving my anxiety through the roof. I'm definitely going to follow Victoria's advice about continuing to request payments even while showing ineligible, and I just set up text alerts like Giovanni suggested. The waiting is brutal when you're watching bills pile up, but at least now I know this timeline is unfortunately normal. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and keeping the rest of us sane during this stressful process!

•Ethan, you're absolutely not alone in this! I'm actually on day 6 since my ID.me verification and having the exact same experience. Like you, I was checking my account obsessively thinking something was wrong with my verification. Learning that it's a manual review process has been such a game-changer for my stress levels - I wish TWC made that clearer upfront instead of leaving us all in the dark wondering if we did something wrong. The text alerts are definitely a good move, and I'm also going to start requesting payments like Victoria mentioned even though it feels weird doing it while showing ineligible. This whole thread has been a lifesaver for my anxiety. Hopefully we'll both see some movement in the next few days as we get closer to that 7-10 day window everyone's talking about!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Just completed my ID.me verification 4 days ago and my account is still showing ineligible. This entire thread has been incredibly helpful - I had no idea it was a manual review process that could take up to 2 weeks. I've been panicking thinking I did something wrong with the verification. What really stood out to me was Victoria's advice about continuing to request payments even while showing ineligible. I wasn't sure if I should keep doing that, but it makes total sense to maintain the schedule so you don't miss out once it gets resolved. I also just set up text alerts after reading Giovanni's suggestion. The hardest part is definitely the uncertainty and lack of communication from TWC about what's happening behind the scenes. But knowing that 7-10 business days seems to be the normal timeline for most people gives me hope. I'll try to be patient for another week before considering calling or using that Claimyr service. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it's such a relief to know this delay is unfortunately normal!
