How long after TWC ID verification until payment hits my account?
So I finally got through the ID.me verification process with TWC last Friday (took me 3 tries because the stupid face recognition kept failing). My claim status now shows 'verified' but I still haven't received any money in my account. It's been 4 business days now. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for the payment to actually hit your account after verification? I'm getting really worried because rent is due next week and I'm completely broke after being laid off from my warehouse job. The TWC website is so confusing and I can't get through on the phone lines!

In my experience, it takes about 3-5 business days after verification for the payment to process. It depends on whether there are any other issues with your claim besides identity verification. Once the payment is released, it takes another 2-3 days to hit your bank account for direct deposit, or 7-10 days if you're getting a debit card mailed to you. Do you see any payment status in your TWC account portal? Also, make sure you've completed your payment requests on time.

•Thanks for responding! I don't see any payment status - just that my identity is verified. I've done my payment requests on the right days. Is there somewhere specific in the portal where I should be looking? The whole site is so confusing.

The verification is just step 1. After that, they still have to process your claim and determine if you're eligible based on your employment history, reason for separation, etc. Did you get a Determination Letter yet? If not, they're still deciding whether to approve your benefits. Check your Correspondence Inbox on the TWC portal. The timeline generally looks like: 1. ID.me verification 2. Claim processing (1-3 weeks) 3. Determination letter sent 4. If approved, payment processing (2-4 days) 5. Money deposited (2-3 days for direct deposit) Have you checked if there are any pending issues on your claim?

•Oh no...I didn't realize there were so many steps after verification. I haven't gotten any determination letter yet. Where exactly do I check for pending issues? I've looked through the website but don't see anything obvious.

I recently went through this. After your ID.me verification, you need to check for any "pending issues" on your claim. Log in to your TWC account, go to "Claim and Payment Status" and look for anything that says "pending" or "under review." It could be they're waiting on info from your former employer or need additional documentation. When I called, they told me my employer hadn't responded to their inquiry yet, which was holding up my payment. After calling my former manager, things started moving. The problem is getting through to TWC to find out what's going on. I spent days getting busy signals until I found Claimyr (claimyr.com) which got me through to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Once I talked to someone, they expedited my claim and I got paid about 3 days later. Hope this helps!

•Thanks for the detailed info! I just checked and sure enough there's a "pending issue" about my job separation. The company I worked for is saying I quit but I was definitely laid off with 50 other people when they closed our distribution center. Is this something I need to appeal or call about? I'll check out that Claimyr thing because I've been trying to call for days with no luck.

•2 MONTHS?? I can't wait that long! Did you do anything special to win your appeal?

You definitely need to address that separation issue ASAP. That's why your payment is held up - it has nothing to do with the ID.me verification completion at this point. When there's a discrepancy between your reason for separation and what your employer reports, TWC puts your claim on hold until it's resolved. You should gather any documentation you have that proves you were laid off - termination notice, emails, texts from supervisors, anything that shows it was a company decision and not yours. I'd recommend calling TWC right away to explain your side before they make a determination solely based on what your employer reported.

•Okay, that makes sense. I have the layoff notice they gave everyone and some texts from my supervisor. I'm definitely going to call tomorrow. Thanks for explaining!

Has anyone else noticed that TWC's system is extra slow lately? When I filed back in January, my verification only took like 2 days to process. But my friend just did hers last week and it's been way slower. I wonder if they're backed up or something?

To directly answer your original question - after full verification AND assuming there are no other issues with your claim, payments typically process within 3-5 business days. However, since you've discovered a separation issue (employer claiming you quit vs. you stating layoff), this will definitely delay things until resolved. For separation disputes, I recommend: 1. Call TWC immediately using whatever method works (regular line or a service like the one mentioned above) 2. Submit your documentation through your TWC portal under "Communication Center" - upload your layoff notice 3. Be prepared to explain that this was a mass layoff affecting multiple employees 4. Ask specifically if you need to file a formal appeal or if they can resolve it by phone The good news is that if approved, you'll receive back payments for all the weeks you properly requested payment. The bad news is that separation disputes can take 2-4 weeks to resolve, sometimes longer if a formal hearing is required.

•Thank you for all this information. I'm going to call first thing tomorrow and upload my layoff notice tonight. This is so frustrating - I had no idea that my company would claim I quit when they literally closed our entire facility! I guess I'll be eating ramen for a while longer...

Just wanted to follow up - how did your call with TWC go? Were you able to get through and explain the separation issue?

•I used that Claimyr service and got through after waiting about a half hour. The TWC agent was actually really helpful. She said this happens all the time where employers try to avoid unemployment claims by misreporting separations. She made notes on my account and said they're expediting a review of my documentation. She thought I should hear something within a week, and if approved, payment would come 2-3 days after that. Fingers crossed! Thanks for all the help everyone.
