Approved TWC determination letters but no payment yet - stuck on ID.me verification?

So confused right now! My TWC claim just changed from 'in review' to approved status and I've received 3 different determination letters by mail (all saying I qualify for benefits). But I still haven't gotten any actual payments or instructions about this ID.me verification everyone mentions here. Will that come as a separate letter? My mailbox is the only way I get TWC updates because I've had endless problems trying to sign up for electronic correspondence (tried 6 different times, spoke to 3 different reps, still broken). I submitted my payment request on 1/17/24 and nothing's hit my account yet. Anyone know approximately how much longer before I see actual money? Getting pretty nervous about bills coming due soon...

You NEED to do the ID.me verification asap! It won't come as a letter - you have to log into your TWC account online and look for the Action Item there. It should be at the top of your dashboard. If you don't complete the ID.me verification, they won't release any payments no matter how many determination letters you got. I went through this nightmare last month and lost 3 weeks of payments before figuring it out.

Wait really?? But I CAN log into my TWC account - wouldn't I have seen this action item already? I'll check again right now...

The ID.me verification doesn't always come as an action item for everyone. What matters is whether you see a message on your correspondence page saying your identity needs to be verified. When you received your determination letters, did any of them specifically mention identity verification? Also, check your payment status - if it says "pending identity verification" that's your clue. Don't panic yet - this is standard procedure for many claims in 2025.

The letters just said I'm eligible for $581/week. Nothing about identity verification specifically. Where exactly on the website do I check my payment status? The UI portal is so confusing.

I had trouble getting through to TWC too. After 3 days of busy signals, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through in about 20 minutes. They have a system that basically waits on hold for you then calls you when a TWC agent is available. Saved me days of frustration. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!!! I got 5 determination letters and still waited 7 WEEKS for payment!!! They claim they're "modernizing" the system but it's WORSE than before. Half the agents don't even know their own rules. And don't get me started on the ID.me garbage - it didn't even WORK with my Android phone and I had to borrow someone's iPhone to complete it. RIDICULOUS WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY!!!

Take a deep breath...not everyone has these problems. My verification and payments were smooth this time around. Much better than during covid when the system was truly overwhelmed.

To directly answer your question about timing: If your determination letters were approved and you don't have any pending issues, your first payment typically arrives 2-3 weeks after your first payment request (assuming you've completed all verification requirements). Since you submitted on 1/17/24, you should see something by early February unless there's an identity verification hold. Here's what I recommend: 1. Log into your TWC account 2. Go to "Claim and Payment Status" 3. Look for any messages about identity verification 4. Check if your payment status says "pending" or gives a specific reason If you see nothing about identity verification and your payment is still pending after 3 weeks from request, you definitely need to call TWC directly.

Thank you SO much for the detailed info. I just checked and found a tiny note under "Claim and Payment Status" that says "Payment pending identity verification" - I completely missed it before! But there's no link or instructions about what to do next. Do I just go to ID.me directly?

Yes! Go to ID.me and create an account using the same email address you used for your TWC account. Once you're verified there, it should automatically link to your TWC claim within 2-3 business days. If it doesn't update after 3 days, then you'll need to call TWC to have them manually check the verification status.

my cousin had this probem...he had to wait like 6 weeks for money even tho he was approved. twc is just slow sometimes, nothing u can do but wait honestly

UPDATE: I completed the ID.me verification yesterday (what a pain - had to do a video call with a person because my driver's license picture was too faded). My TWC account now shows the verification as complete! The agent I spoke with on the ID.me call said it typically takes 3-5 business days for TWC to process the verification and release payments. Thanks everyone for your help figuring this out - I would have been waiting forever since there was no notification about this requirement in any of my determination letters.

Great news! Yes, the 3-5 day timeframe is accurate based on recent claims I've seen. Make sure you continue submitting your payment requests on schedule even while waiting for the first payment to arrive. Glad you got it sorted out!

Just wait until they randomly lock your account again in 3 weeks for "additional verification" 🙄 Happened to me TWICE with no explanation!

@Noah huntAce420 Congrats on getting through the ID.me process! That video call verification can be really frustrating when your documents aren t'perfect. Keep an eye on your account over the next few days - once that first payment hits, the rest should follow smoothly as long as you keep up with your biweekly requests. The whole system really needs better communication about these verification requirements upfront.

This is exactly the kind of confusion that drives people crazy with TWC! The fact that you got approval letters but no clear instructions about ID.me verification shows how poorly they communicate these requirements. I went through something similar last year - got approved, waited weeks, then discovered the ID.me requirement buried in my account. The system really should send a clear notification or include verification instructions right in those determination letters. At least now that you've completed it, you should see payments within a week. Make sure to keep submitting your biweekly requests even while waiting for that first payment to process!

Exactly! I'm going through the same thing right now and it's so frustrating. Got my approval letters in the mail but nowhere did they mention ID.me verification. Had to dig through the online portal to find that tiny "pending identity verification" note. Why don't they just put this stuff in the determination letters they mail out? Would save everyone so much confusion and stress. At least there are helpful people in this community who know what to look for!

I just went through this exact same situation! Got my approval letters but waited 6 weeks with no payment until I found out about the ID.me requirement. Here's what helped me: Log into your TWC account and look for a small text that says "Payment pending identity verification" under your claim status - it's easy to miss! Once you find that, go directly to ID.me (not through TWC's website) and complete the verification using the same email as your TWC account. The whole process took me about 30 minutes, and my payments started flowing within 4 business days after verification was complete. Don't wait like I did - the verification won't happen automatically and they definitely don't make it obvious that it's required!

Thanks for sharing your experience! This is really helpful info. I'm in a similar boat - got approved but have been waiting 3 weeks with no payment. I just checked and found that tiny "payment pending identity verification" message you mentioned (it's seriously buried in there!). One question though - when you say go directly to ID.me rather than through TWC's website, do you mean just create a new account at id.me using my TWC email? Or is there a specific link I should use? Want to make sure I do this right the first time since I can't afford to wait another 6 weeks like you did!
