Will TWC backpay the weeks held during ID.me verification on next payment date?
Finally got my ID.me verification completed yesterday after struggling with it for weeks! My payment requests were on hold because of this identity verification issue, and now I got a letter saying they can process my payments. Does anyone know if TWC will automatically include all those missed weeks in my next scheduled payment? Or will they be sent separately? The letter wasn't clear about the timing, and I'm trying to figure out when I'll actually see this money since I have bills coming due. I've been trying to call TWC for 3 days straight but can't get through to anyone. So frustrating when you just need a simple answer! 😫

Yes, they should include all the previously held weeks in your next payment. I went through the same exact thing in January. Once my ID.me verification went through, I received all my back weeks on my regular payment date. It showed up as one lump sum payment on my direct deposit. Just make sure your payment request dates are still valid for all those weeks they owe you.

•Thank you SO much! That's a relief. Do you remember how long it took between getting the letter and actually seeing the payment? I'm hoping it'll be quick since I'm really tight on money right now.

•Great... more uncertainty. Thanks for letting me know though. At least I won't panic if it's not there right on my normal payment day.

The TWC system processes backpayments differently than regular payment requests. While they'll typically pay all eligible weeks, there are a few things to be aware of: 1. TWC usually processes these previously-held payments within 2-3 business days after the identity verification clears in their system 2. The payment may come separately from your regular payment request 3. Check your Correspondence Inbox on the TWC portal - there should be a payment statement for each week 4. Make sure your payment request history shows all weeks as "processed" not "held" If it's been more than 5 business days since receiving that letter and you still don't see any payment activity in your account, you'll unfortunately need to contact TWC directly.

•Thanks for all the detailed info! I just checked my TWC portal and the status still shows "held" for those weeks even though I got the letter saying they can process them now. Should I be worried about that?

•That status typically updates overnight when their system processes batches. Give it 1-2 business days to change from "held" to "processed" before getting too concerned. If it doesn't change by then, you'll need to contact TWC for clarification.

I SPENT TWO MONTHS trying to get my backpay after the ID.me nightmare!!! Their system is COMPLETELY BROKEN. After getting the letter saying they'd pay me, nothing happened for weeks. I called 78 TIMES before getting through. Then they told me there was ANOTHER hold on my account that the letter didn't mention. Had to start the process all over again. Don't assume anything with TWC - their left hand doesn't know what the right is doing!

•Oh no, that's exactly what I'm afraid of! I can't afford to wait months for this money. Did you ever figure out what the secondary hold was? Now I'm worried there might be something else wrong with my claim too.

You should try using Claimyr if you need to actually talk to someone at TWC. I was in the same boat last month - couldn't get through after trying for days. A friend told me about this service that gets you through to a TWC agent without the endless busy signals. I used it at claimyr.com and was talking to an actual person in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh The agent I spoke with was able to tell me exactly when my held payments would be released after my ID.me verification. Gave me peace of mind instead of just guessing and stressing.

•I've never heard of this before. Did they need a lot of personal info? At this point I'm desperate enough to try anything if it means getting a clear answer about my backpay.

One other important thing - make sure you keep submitting your regular payment requests even while waiting for the backpay to process. I've seen too many people miss out on current benefits because they were focused on the backpay issue. You need to keep your claim active by continuing your regular biweekly payment requests.

•Thank you! Yes, I've been keeping up with my regular payment requests and work search activities. I didn't want to risk losing any more weeks. Just hoping all this backpay comes through soon.

•Haha I wish! I've been checking my account obsessively and nothing yet. But it's good to hear yours eventually came through without you having to do anything extra.

My sister works for TWC (not in benefits dept tho) and she says they're super backlogged right now with all these ID.me issues. Apparently there was some kinda system update that messed up a bunch of accounts. That's why nobody can get through on the phones.

•Of COURSE they had a system update! They do this EVERY YEAR and it ALWAYS causes problems. Why can't they ever get their act together? Your sister should tell her bosses to hire more people instead of making us wait for hours on the phone!

•Thanks for the insider info. That actually explains a lot about why this has been such a mess. Did your sister mention how long the backlog might take to clear up?

Just to update you on my experience - after my ID.me verification went through, it took exactly 4 business days for the status in my account to change from "held" to "processed." Then I received the backpay on my regular payment day. So if you just completed verification yesterday, I'd give it until at least Tuesday or Wednesday next week before expecting to see any changes.

•This is incredibly helpful - thank you! Having a real timeframe helps set my expectations. I'll try to be patient until next week before I really start to worry.
