TWC verification hold finally cleared - how long until payment arrives?
Finally got through the ID verification process with TWC last Thursday! The rep I spoke with said the ID verification hold was the ONLY thing blocking my payments (I have 5 weeks pending now - almost $2,750). She said everything looks good and the verification was complete on their end, but my account still shows "pending" for all payment requests and nothing has hit my account yet. Has anyone dealt with this situation recently? How long does it typically take for payments to start after they clear a verification hold? I'm getting desperate since rent is due in 3 days and my landlord is NOT understanding about this whole situation. 😞

congrats on getting thru verification! mine took about 5 business days after the hold was removed before i saw $$. but that was back in january so maybe its faster now?

•Thanks for the response! 5 days wouldn't be too bad. Were you able to see when the hold was actually removed in your account, or did the money just show up?

It typically takes 3-5 business days for payments to process once a verification hold is removed. However, if your account shows your payment requests are still pending, it might mean the hold hasn't been fully released in the system yet, even though the representative told you everything was verified. Two things you should do: 1. Check your Correspondence Inbox on the TWC portal to see if there's a determination letter confirming the hold was removed 2. Check your Payment Status page to see if the status has changed from "pending" to "processed" If nothing changes by early next week, you should definitely call TWC again to follow up.

•I've been checking my correspondence inbox obsessively and nothing new has shown up. The payment status still says pending for all weeks. I guess I'll have to call them again on Monday if nothing changes. Thanks for the advice!

•This is why I hate dealing with TWC. They tell you one thing and then the system shows something completely different. It's like the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

Based on my experience helping several clients with TWC issues, what likely happened is that while the verification itself was completed, there could be an additional step needed to actually release the hold in their system. This is unfortunately common. What you're describing sounds like a "system release lag" - where the verification is completed but the automatic hold release didn't trigger properly. In most recent cases I've seen, these take 3-7 business days to resolve naturally, but calling back can expedite the process. If you need to speak with TWC again (which I recommend if nothing changes by Monday), try using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an agent quickly instead of dealing with the busy signals. I've had clients use their service to get through in minutes rather than spending days trying to reach TWC. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh that shows how it works. When you do speak with an agent, specifically ask them to check if the verification hold has been "released in the system" and not just "completed." Those are two different statuses in their system.

•Thank you for this detailed explanation! I didn't realize there was a difference between the verification being completed and the hold being released. That's probably exactly what's happening. I'll check out that Claimyr service if I need to call on Monday - I wasted 3 hours last week just trying to get through.

This right here is why I'm DONE with TWC!!! Been dealing with them for 3 months straight. Every single time they say "oh we fixed it" and then NOTHING HAPPENS. And when you call back they act like they have no record of your previous call. Complete disaster of a system. I had to call 27 TIMES before someone finally fixed my account for real. Don't believe anything they tell you until you actually see money in your account.

•Yeah but what choice do we have? We need the benefits we paid into. It sucks but you gotta just keep pushing through their broken system.

After they verified me, my account updated within 2 days showing the hold was removed, but it took 4 more business days for the actual payments to process and hit my direct deposit. So about 6 business days total from verification to money. One thing that helped me was checking the Payment Status page each morning - when it changed from "pending" to "processed" I knew the money would be coming within 48 hours. If your landlord is giving you trouble, you can request a letter from TWC stating your benefits are approved and pending payment. Some landlords will accept this as proof that payment is coming. Just ask for a "benefit verification letter" next time you speak with them.

•That's great advice about the verification letter! I didn't know I could request that. I'll definitely ask for one when I call back. And thanks for the timeline - helps me know what to expect!

Did u do the id.me verification or was it some other kind of verification hold? cuz those are different things. id.me is faster to clear usually.

•It was the ID.me verification that I completed. The rep specifically mentioned that was what they needed and now it's done. That's why I'm confused about why nothing has changed in my account yet.

Following up on my earlier comment - if you still don't see any change by Monday afternoon, when you call back, ask them specifically: 1. Has the verification hold been completely removed from my account in the system? 2. Are there any other holds or issues preventing payment? 3. What exact date can I expect my payment to be processed? Get the representative's name and ID number too. Sometimes just noting that information makes them more likely to take extra steps to help you. Also, if you're in a financial emergency situation due to the delay, be sure to mention that. TWC has procedures for expediting payments in hardship cases, especially when the delay is on their end.

Hey Dmitry, I went through almost the exact same thing a couple months ago! After my ID.me verification was "completed" by the rep, it still took another 4 business days before I saw any change in my account status. What really frustrated me was that the rep made it sound like it would be immediate, but there's apparently some backend processing that has to happen after they mark it complete on their end. One thing that helped me track progress was checking the "Issues and Determinations" section of my account (not just Payment Status) - that's where I eventually saw the verification hold get officially cleared. Once that happened, payments started processing within 48 hours. Since you're dealing with rent pressure, definitely mention the financial hardship when you call back. I've heard some people got expedited processing when they explained they were facing eviction. Also, some food banks and local assistance programs can help with emergency rent if you need a backup plan while waiting for TWC to get their act together. Fingers crossed it updates for you over the weekend! Keep us posted on what happens.

•Thanks for sharing your experience! I just checked the "Issues and Determinations" section and you're right - there's still an active entry there about the verification hold. It's marked as "under review" even though the rep told me it was complete. This is so frustrating but at least now I know what to look for. I'll definitely mention the financial hardship situation when I call back - didn't realize that could help speed things up. Really appreciate you taking the time to give such detailed advice!

I'm dealing with something similar right now! Just had my ID.me verification completed on Friday and still showing pending payments. Reading through all these responses is really helpful - sounds like the key is checking that "Issues and Determinations" section that @NebulaNova mentioned. I didn't even know that existed! For what it's worth, I've been using a local food pantry while waiting for my payments to come through, and they also connected me with an emergency rent assistance program through the city. Might be worth looking into if you're in a tight spot with rent coming up. The United Way has a 211 helpline (just dial 2-1-1) that can connect you with local resources. Hope your payments start processing soon! This whole system is such a mess but at least we're all helping each other figure it out.

•Thanks for mentioning the 211 helpline! I had no idea that resource existed. I'm definitely going to call them today to see what emergency assistance might be available in my area. It's such a relief to know there are backup options while dealing with this TWC mess. Really appreciate you sharing that info - it could be a lifesaver for people in situations like mine where rent is due and we're still waiting on payments that should have been processed weeks ago.

Just wanted to add my experience since I went through this exact situation about 6 weeks ago. After my ID.me verification was completed, I made the mistake of assuming everything would process automatically. Big mistake! What I learned is that you need to be proactive about following up. The verification being "complete" doesn't always trigger the system to release payments immediately. In my case, I had to call back twice more before someone actually pushed the release through manually. Here's what worked for me: I called exactly 72 hours after the initial verification call and asked the rep to manually check if the hold release had been processed in their system. The first rep I got said "it should process automatically in 3-5 days" but the second rep actually looked deeper and found that the hold hadn't been properly released despite the verification being complete. She fixed it on the spot and I had my payments within 48 hours after that. Don't wait too long to follow up - especially with rent due. The squeaky wheel gets the grease with TWC unfortunately. Good luck!

•This is exactly the kind of specific advice I needed to hear! I was definitely making the mistake of assuming it would process automatically. Your point about asking the rep to manually check if the hold release was processed (not just if verification was complete) is really helpful - that seems to be the key distinction everyone's mentioning. I'm going to call first thing Monday morning and use that exact language. Thanks for sharing what actually worked for you instead of just what you were told would work!

I'm going through the same verification hold nightmare right now! Filed in February and just got through the ID.me process last week. What's driving me crazy is how inconsistent the information is - some reps say 3-5 days, others say it could take up to 2 weeks. One thing I noticed from reading all these responses is that everyone's mentioning different sections to check in the TWC portal. Can someone clarify exactly where to look? I see "Payment Status", "Issues and Determinations", and "Correspondence Inbox" mentioned. Are these all separate places I should be monitoring? Also @Dmitry - definitely try that 211 helpline that @Emma Wilson mentioned. I called them yesterday and they connected me with a local organization that can help with emergency rent assistance while we wait for TWC to get their act together. The application was pretty quick and they said they could have an answer within 48 hours. This whole system is broken but at least this community is helping each other navigate it. Hoping we all see some movement soon!

•@Xan - Yes, you should definitely check all three sections! Here's the breakdown: "Payment Status" shows whether your weekly payments are pending/processed/paid, "Issues and Determinations" is where you'll see if holds are actually cleared (this is the key one that @NebulaNova mentioned), and "Correspondence Inbox" has any official letters or determinations they send you. I check all three every morning now because they update at different times. The "Issues and Determinations" section is probably most important for tracking when verification holds are truly released from the system vs just completed. Hope that helps clarify!

I just went through this exact same process two weeks ago and wanted to share what actually worked for me. After my ID.me verification was "completed" by the rep, I waited 5 days with no changes to my account - still showing pending on everything just like you're experiencing. The breakthrough came when I called back and specifically asked the rep to check three things: 1) Is the verification hold completely removed in your system (not just completed), 2) Are there any other flags or holds on my account, and 3) Can you manually trigger the payment release process. The rep found that while my verification was marked complete, there was still a "system flag" that needed to be manually cleared. She did it right then on the call and I saw my payment status change to "processed" within 6 hours. Money hit my account 2 business days after that. Don't wait too long to follow up - especially with rent due Monday. The verification completion and the hold release are apparently two different steps in their system, and sometimes the second step doesn't happen automatically. Keep calling until you get someone who will actually dig into your account and manually push things through!

•This is incredibly helpful! The distinction between verification completion and hold release being two separate steps makes so much sense now - that explains why the rep told me everything was done but my account still shows pending. I'm definitely going to use your exact three questions when I call back Monday morning. The fact that your rep was able to manually trigger the payment release process and you saw changes within hours gives me hope that mine might just need that same manual push. Really appreciate you sharing the specific steps that actually worked rather than just what you were told would work!

I'm in a very similar situation right now! Just completed my ID.me verification on Wednesday and still seeing all pending payments in my account. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been so helpful - especially learning about the difference between verification being "completed" vs the hold being "released" in their system. Based on what everyone's shared, it sounds like the key is being persistent with follow-up calls and asking very specific questions. I'm planning to call Monday and use the exact language that @Bruno suggested about checking if the hold is completely removed and asking them to manually trigger the payment release. @Dmitry - definitely look into that 211 helpline for emergency assistance while you wait. I called them yesterday and they connected me with a local program that can help with emergency rent payments. The application was simple and they said they could have funds available within 2-3 business days, which might bridge the gap while TWC gets their system sorted out. This whole process is so frustrating but I'm grateful for this community sharing real experiences and solutions. Will update if I learn anything new when I call back next week!

•@Amina - Thanks for mentioning the 211 helpline again! I actually called them this morning after seeing multiple people recommend it, and you're absolutely right - they were incredibly helpful. They connected me with two different local programs that can help with emergency rent assistance. One of them said they can potentially have emergency funds available within 24-48 hours for people who are waiting on delayed unemployment benefits. I filled out the application online and they said they'll call me back Monday. It's such a relief to know there are backup options while we deal with this TWC mess. I'm also planning to call TWC first thing Monday using @Bruno's three specific questions. Really appreciate everyone in this thread sharing actual solutions and resources instead of just complaints - this community has been a lifeline during this stressful situation!

I'm going through almost the exact same situation right now! Completed my ID.me verification on Tuesday and was told everything looked good, but my account still shows pending for all my payment requests. Reading through all these responses has been incredibly eye-opening - I had no idea there was a difference between verification being "completed" and the hold actually being "released" in their system. The advice about checking the "Issues and Determinations" section is gold - I just looked and mine still shows an active verification hold marked as "under review" even though the rep told me it was complete. That explains everything! I'm definitely going to call back Monday using @Bruno's three specific questions about whether the hold is completely removed, checking for other flags, and asking them to manually trigger the payment release. And @Dmitry - definitely call that 211 helpline that multiple people have mentioned. I called them yesterday and they connected me with an emergency rent assistance program that can potentially have funds available within 48 hours for people waiting on delayed unemployment benefits. This whole TWC system is such a nightmare but this community sharing real solutions has been a lifesaver. Will update everyone on what happens when I call back next week. •@Alicia - It's both reassuring and frustrating to see so many of us going through the exact same thing! The fact that your "Issues and Determinations" section still shows the hold as "under review" even though you were told it was complete really confirms what everyone's been saying about there being two separate steps in their system. I'm in the same boat - was told Thursday everything was done but clearly something still needs to be manually released on their end. I'm definitely planning to call first thing Monday with @Bruno's three questions and also ask specifically about that "under review" status in the Issues section. And yes, the 211 helpline has been a game-changer - I already got connected with emergency rent assistance that could come through faster than TWC gets their act together! Let's both update this thread after our Monday calls - would be helpful for others to see what specific language actually gets results with the reps. Fingers crossed we both get someone who knows how to manually push these through!

Just wanted to jump in here as someone who went through this exact situation about a month ago. The frustrating thing about TWC is that their reps often don't understand the difference between completing the verification process and actually releasing the payment holds in their system - they're two completely separate steps that unfortunately don't always happen automatically. What finally worked for me was calling back 3 days after my "completed" verification and asking the rep to do a "manual system refresh" on my account. Apparently there's some kind of batch processing that happens overnight, but sometimes accounts get stuck and need to be manually pushed through. The rep who helped me said this is actually pretty common with ID.me verifications. @Dmitry - since your rent is due Monday, I'd definitely call first thing in the morning and use the language others have suggested about checking if the hold is "completely removed in the system" vs just "completed." Also ask them to check if your account needs a manual system refresh to trigger the payment release. In the meantime, that 211 helpline everyone's mentioning is legit - they helped me find emergency assistance that came through faster than TWC did. Don't wait on TWC to be your only solution when you're facing immediate financial pressure. Hope you get it sorted out quickly!

•@Aisha - Thank you for mentioning the "manual system refresh" - that's a new piece of terminology I haven't heard yet but it makes total sense! It sounds like that might be exactly what needs to happen in these cases where verification is complete but the payment holds aren't automatically releasing. I'm definitely going to ask about that specifically when I call Monday morning along with all the other questions people have suggested. It's so helpful to have the actual language to use with the reps since they seem to respond better when you know the right terminology. The fact that you said this is "pretty common" with ID.me verifications is both reassuring and infuriating - if it's that common, why isn't it part of their standard process to check for this when people call back? Anyway, really appreciate you sharing what actually worked. Between your "manual system refresh" language and @Bruno's three questions, I feel like I have a solid game plan for Monday's call. And yes, already connected with emergency assistance through 211 as backup - that resource has been a lifesaver!

Hey Dmitry! I went through this exact same frustrating experience about 6 weeks ago. After my ID.me verification was "completed," I waited almost a full week with no changes to my account - everything still showing pending just like yours. What I learned is that TWC has a serious communication problem between their phone reps and their actual payment processing system. The rep can mark your verification as complete, but there's apparently a separate step where the hold has to be "released" in their payment system, and this doesn't always happen automatically. Here's what finally worked for me: I called back after 4 business days and asked the rep to specifically check three things: 1) Is the verification hold completely removed from my account in your system (not just marked complete), 2) Can you see any other flags or issues preventing payment, and 3) Can you manually trigger the payment release process right now while I'm on the phone. The second rep I spoke with found that my verification was complete but the "system release" hadn't been processed yet. She was able to push it through manually and I saw my payment status change from pending to processing within about 4 hours. Money hit my account 2 business days later. Don't wait too much longer - especially with rent due Monday. Call first thing Monday morning and use that specific language. Also, definitely look into that 211 helpline others mentioned for emergency rent assistance. I used a local program they connected me with and it was a lifesaver while waiting for TWC to get sorted. Good luck! Keep us posted on what happens.

•@Marilyn - This is incredibly helpful and gives me so much hope! Your experience sounds exactly like what I'm going through - verification marked complete but clearly something still needs to happen on the backend to actually release the payments. I love how specific your three questions are, especially asking them to manually trigger the release "right now while I'm on the phone." That's brilliant because it forces them to actually do something instead of just saying it will process automatically. I'm definitely calling first thing Monday morning with your exact language. The fact that you saw changes within 4 hours once the right rep actually pushed it through manually shows this is totally fixable - it just requires getting someone who understands the system and is willing to take action. And yes, I've already connected with emergency assistance through 211 thanks to everyone's recommendations here. It's such a relief to have that backup while dealing with TWC's broken system. Really appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed, actionable advice. I'll definitely update everyone on what happens with Monday's call!

I just checked mine and yep, still shows "under review" despite being told everything was done. It's crazy how many of us are going through this exact same scenario. Really shows there's a systemic issue with how TWC's verification completion process doesn't automatically trigger the hold release. I'm definitely saving all the specific questions that @Bruno and @Marilyn shared to use when I call back. The "manual system refresh" terminology that @Aisha mentioned is also super helpful. •@Anastasia - It's both comforting and frustrating to see so many of us in the exact same situation! The consistency of everyone's experiences really highlights how broken TWC's system is - the fact that verification can be "completed" but holds remain active in the "Issues and Determinations" section shows there's clearly a disconnect between their phone system and payment processing system. I'm in the same boat - was told everything was done but my account tells a different story. I'm definitely going to use all the terminology everyone's shared when I call Monday: asking about "complete removal in the system," requesting a "manual system refresh," and having them trigger the release while I'm on the phone.
