PA UC weekly certification login errors - system down today?

Is anyone else having problems getting into the PA UC system for weekly certification today? I've been trying since 6 AM and keep getting different errors - first it said 'service unavailable,' then 'session timeout,' and now it's just a blank screen after I enter my SSN and PIN. I've tried different browsers, cleared cookies, even tried on my phone. My internet's working fine for everything else! This is stressing me out because I need to file today to avoid payment delays. Anyone know if the system is down or what I should do?

same here!! been tryin since 8:30 and nothin works. called the number but just got busy signal every time

Glad I'm not the only one! But not glad we're both stuck. Did you try their mobile site too? I wonder if we should wait until tonight or try tomorrow morning?

The system goes down for maintenance sometimes, especially on Sundays. I've been on UC since October and noticed it happens about once a month. It's super frustrating but should be back up by evening. If you're worried, take screenshots of the error messages as proof you tried to file today in case they try to say you filed late.

Thanks for the tip about screenshots! I'll do that right away. I've been on unemployment for only a few weeks so I'm still learning all these little quirks in the system.

I HATE THIS SYSTEM!! Every time there's a deadline suddenly the website has "technical difficulties" and it's ALWAYS on Sundays when nobody is in the office to help. Then they penalize US for being late!!! I'm convinced they do this on purpose to reduce how many people can file. Been dealing with this garbage since January.

EXACTLY! And when you try to explain to them that their system was down, they act like you're making it up. Last time this happened to me it took THREE WEEKS to get my payment because they marked me as "failure to file on time" even though it was THEIR system that was broken.

I'm having the same issue today, but I also discovered that they actually post system outages on their Twitter account @PaUCClaims. Just checked and they announced emergency maintenance from 6am-2pm today. They should really send emails or texts about this instead of assuming everyone checks social media.

Oh wow, I had no idea they had a Twitter for announcements! Thanks for sharing that - I'll follow them right now. Agree they should send texts though, seems like basic customer service.

If you're having trouble logging in and need to speak with a UC representative about your claim, I recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in your situation last month with login issues and needed to confirm my claim wasn't affected. They connected me to a UC agent in about 20 minutes when I had been trying for days on my own. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. It really helped when I was panicking about missing my weekly certification.

Does that actually work? I've been hearing about it but seems weird to use a service just to make a phone call. How does it even work?

It does work - basically they navigate the phone system and wait on hold for you, then call you when they've reached an agent. Saved me hours of frustration. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for days to get through.

UPDATE: I finally got in! System is working now but super slow. For anyone still trying, be patient after you enter your PIN - it took almost 3 minutes for the next screen to load but it eventually did. Make sure you don't refresh or you'll have to start over!

thanks for update! got in too just now. phew one more week done

For future reference, the best times to file your weekly claim are usually Tuesday or Wednesday mornings between 9-11am. The system has the least traffic then. Sundays and Mondays are always nightmares because everyone tries to file as soon as the week opens up. Also, if you ever can't file online, remember you can use the PA UC phone filing system at 888-255-4728, though it's pretty tedious to use.

That's really helpful advice! I'll definitely try mid-week next time instead of stressing on Sunday. Do you know if filing on a Tuesday vs Sunday affects when the payment gets processed?

In my experience, as long as you file before Friday, payment timing stays the same. I file Wednesday mornings and still get paid on the same schedule as when I used to file Sundays. The system processes claims in batches regardless of which day you file.
