EDD website down? Can't login to UI Online account since 7AM
Is anyone else having trouble logging into their EDD account this morning? I've been trying since 7AM to certify for my biweekly benefits but keep getting the spinning wheel that never ends. Tried on Chrome, Firefox, and even my phone. Cleared cookies, restarted computer, still nothing. Getting really anxious because today's my certification deadline and I can't afford a delay in payment. Anyone know if the system is down or having issues? Or is it just me?

•Glad it's not just me (well, not glad for us both lol). Have you tried calling their tech support line? I'm hesitant to waste hours on hold if the whole system is down.

This seems to be a widespread issue today. EDD is likely doing system maintenance or experiencing technical difficulties. They occasionally do updates on Sunday mornings, but they rarely announce them in advance. I recommend trying again after 12pm when their systems typically come back online. If you're concerned about your certification deadline, don't worry - when their system goes down on a certification day, they automatically extend the deadline by 24 hours. Just make sure to screenshot any error messages as documentation just in case.

•they dont always extend it tho, my friend missed her deadline last month when the site was down and she had to call in to get it fixed. took FOREVER

•You're right that it's not guaranteed. If you're unable to certify today because of system issues, I'd recommend documenting the errors with screenshots and calling first thing tomorrow morning. Explain that you attempted to certify on time but were prevented by technical difficulties.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED LAST MONTH!!! This is absolutely ridiculous that they can't maintain a working website when people DEPEND on this money for rent and food. My certification is due today too and I'm going to be late on rent AGAIN if this payment gets delayed. Why do they always do system maintenance on certification weekends??? Do they not realize most people certify on Sundays??? I've tried calling 30 times already and it just says "we're experiencing higher than normal call volume" AND HANGS UP ON ME. I'm beyond frustrated.

I had the same problem this morning but I found a workaround! Try using the mobile UI Online site instead of the regular one. Go to https://mobile.edd.ca.gov/UIMobile/ instead of the regular portal. For some reason the mobile version is working even though the main site is down. Just certified there 10 minutes ago without any problems. Hope this helps!

If you're still having issues accessing your EDD account by phone or online, you might want to try using Claimyr. I was in the same situation last certification period and couldn't get through on the phone for days. Claimyr helped me get connected to an EDD representative in under 30 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. They have a video that shows exactly how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Their website is claimyr.com if you want to check it out. Definitely worth it when you're dealing with certification deadlines or account access issues.

•Does this actually work? I'm desperate at this point but skeptical of services that claim to help with EDD.

•Yes, it's legitimate. They basically navigate the EDD phone system for you and call you back when they've secured a place in line with a representative. Saved me hours of frustration when my account was locked similar to what's happening now.

anyone know when the site will be back up? i need to reopen my claim after starting a temp job that just ended yesterday

•There's no official announcement, but based on past maintenance, systems typically return to normal operation by early afternoon. For reopening a claim, you'll want to make sure you complete that as soon as possible once the system is back online.

UPDATE: Just checked the EDD Twitter account (@CA_EDD) and they posted 20 minutes ago acknowledging the system outage. They said UI Online should be back up by 2PM today and apologized for the inconvenience. They also confirmed that certification deadlines today will be extended by 24 hours due to the technical issues.

•Thank you for checking and sharing that info! That's a relief about the deadline extension. I was able to certify using the mobile site that you suggested earlier, but good to know for others who might still be having issues.
