PA UC Website Login Issues - Anyone Else Locked Out Since Saturday?

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the PA UC website? I've been trying to log in since yesterday morning (all day Saturday) and the site either times out or shows an error message. Still having the same problem this morning. I need to file my weekly claim and don't want to miss the deadline. Anyone know if there's scheduled maintenance or if the system is down? Should I just keep trying or is there another way to file my weekly claim?

Omg yes!! I thought it was just me! Been trying since yesterday afternoon and kept getting the spinning wheel of death. Called the regular number but it just says high call volume. So frustrating when the deadline is coming up!

Glad it's not just me! Did you try the other browsers? I tried Chrome and Edge with the same result.

Yep, their IT infrastructure is stuck in 1995. Classic PA UC move to have outages during filing weekends.

There was actually a notice posted last Wednesday that they'd be doing system maintenance this weekend, but it was only visible on the homepage for about a day. According to that notice, the system should be back up by 6am Monday morning. If you absolutely need to file today, you can try the PAT (Pennsylvania Teleclaims) system at 888-255-4728 to file by phone instead of waiting for the website.

Thanks for the info! I totally missed that notice. I'll try the phone system if the website isn't back up by this afternoon. Just nervous about getting my claim in on time.

I work in IT and I can tell you these government legacy systems often require regular maintenance. The good news is that PA UC typically extends filing deadlines when they have system outages, so you should be fine. Just keep checking back. The best times to try are typically very early morning (5-6am) or late evening after 10pm when server load is lower. Also, remember that you technically have through Tuesday to file for the previous week without issues.

Is that true about Tuesday? I thought Sunday was the first day and then we only had until Friday to file for the previous week?

Yes, Sunday is the first day you can file for the previous week, and the official deadline is Friday. But the system actually gives you a small grace period through Tuesday of the following week before it marks your claim as 'late.' After Tuesday, you need to provide a reason for filing late. This isn't widely advertised but it's built into the system.

After trying to get through to PA Unemployment for THREE WEEKS with nothing but busy signals and disconnects, I found this service called Claimyr that got me connected to a UC rep in about 20 minutes! It's at claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 - Totally worth it when the system is down and you need to talk to someone ASAP. The rep told me these maintenance periods are scheduled but they don't always update the website with notifications.

The UC system always seems to have issues precisely when we need it most! I've found clearing browser cache and cookies sometimes helps with login issues, but if it's a full system outage that won't make a difference. Just as a reminder, if you absolutely can't file online or by phone for some reason, document your attempts (screenshots, notes of when you called) so if there's any issue later, you can prove you tried to file on time. The UC office is generally understanding about system-wide technical issues.

That's good advice about documenting everything. I'll start taking screenshots of the error messages just in case. I tried clearing my cache already but no luck - definitely seems like a system-wide issue.

I'm having the EXACT same problem!!! Been trying since yesterday morning and NOTHING! This is SO TYPICAL of PA UC!!! My rent is due this week and I NEED this payment to process on time! Why don't they ever WARN us before taking the system down?? Now I'll probably have to wait extra days for my money. I swear they do this ON PURPOSE to save money by delaying our payments!!!

They actually did post a notice about the maintenance, though it wasn't up for long. The system should be back online by tomorrow morning. Your payment shouldn't be delayed as long as you file within the week's filing period. If you're concerned about timing, you can call the PAT system instead of waiting for the website.

Hey everyone, just wanted to update - I just tried again (around 4:30pm Sunday) and was able to get in and file my weekly claim! Looks like the site might be back up now. Still running a bit slow but at least it's working!

Thanks for the update! Just tried it myself and got in too. Claim is filed! What a relief. Wish they'd communicate better about these outages.
