PA UC website down again - anyone know when it'll be back up?
Trying to file my weekly claim this morning but the PA UC website keeps giving me an error page. Says something about 'system maintenance' but doesn't say when it'll be back online. My rent is due next week and I NEED to file today! Anyone else having this problem or know when the site will be working again? This is the 3rd time this month I've had trouble accessing the system!

•Exactly! Today is my assigned day too. Do you know if they'll penalize us if we can't file because THEIR system is down? I can't afford to miss a payment right now.

The PA UC website typically goes down for maintenance every other Sunday from around 6 AM to 11 AM. However, they're experiencing additional technical issues today according to their Facebook page. They posted that they're aware of the problem and working to resolve it, but didn't give a specific timeframe. If today is your assigned filing day and you can't file due to the system being down, they usually extend the deadline, but you should try again later today.

•they ALWAYS say that but then don't actually do anything about it. last time this happened i couldn't file and then they said i was late and had to appeal. took weeks to get my money!!

I had this happen to me last month too. I tried going to the local CareerLink office to file in person, but they just told me to use the phone system instead. Has anyone tried calling to file? Does that work when the website is down?

•The phone filing system is on a separate platform, so it can work even when the website is down. Call 888-255-4728 to file by phone. Just be prepared with your Social Security number, PIN, and work search information before you call. The phone system can be a bit confusing the first time, but it walks you through each step.

The PA UC website goes down EVERY TIME something important is due. It's not a coincidence! They do this on purpose to reduce the number of people who can file successfully and save money. I've been dealing with this system for years and it's always been this way. Try calling their main number at 888-313-7284 and you'll just get a busy signal or recordings for hours. The system is designed to be difficult!

•I don't think they do it on purpose, but their infrastructure is definitely outdated. Most government systems run on technology from decades ago. When I worked in public sector IT, we were always dealing with ancient systems that crashed constantly.

I had the same issue this morning! Tried at 6:30 AM and couldn't get in. Went to make coffee and try again. Still down at 8. Then my kid had a meltdown over breakfast and forgot to try again til now. Still can't access it! Anyone able to get through yet?

If you absolutely need to speak with someone at PA UC about this or other claim issues, I'd recommend using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation last month when the site was down on my filing day, and I needed to talk to someone ASAP. Their service got me through to an actual UC agent in about 20 minutes instead of calling for days. Check out their demo video here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and their website at claimyr.com. They can help you get through to someone who can tell you when the system will be back up and make sure your claim doesn't get penalized for late filing.

•Thanks, I might try this if I can't get through by this afternoon. Did you have to explain to the agent that the website was down or did they already know about the issue?

•The agent I spoke with was already aware of the website issues. They told me exactly when it would be back up and noted in my file that I had attempted to file on my assigned day. Made the whole process much less stressful.

Update: The PA UC website appears to be coming back online. I just checked and was able to log in, though it's running very slowly. They've also posted an update saying that anyone whose filing day was today will have until tomorrow at 11:59 PM to complete their weekly certification without penalty. If you're still having trouble, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.

For future reference, does anyone know if theres a status page or somewhere that shows if the UC website is working or not? Would save me a lot of time instead of just trying over and over again when its down

•PA UC doesn't have an official system status page, unfortunately. The best places to check are their social media accounts (particularly Facebook and Twitter) where they usually post announcements about outages. You can also sign up for email/text alerts on their website once it's back up, which occasionally include maintenance notifications.
