PA UC website down again? Can't log in to file my weekly claim

Is anyone else unable to access the PA unemployment website right now? I've been trying since 7am to file my weekly claim and keep getting an error message saying "system temporarily unavailable" after I enter my PIN. Tried on my phone and laptop, same issue. This happened last month too and I almost missed my filing deadline. Really need this payment to come through on time since my rent is due next week. Anyone know if there's scheduled maintenance or when it might be back up?

same here!! tried 4 times already. site loads but crashes after login. so frustrating!!!!

At least I'm not the only one! Do you know if there's a phone number we can call to file instead? I'm worried about missing my filing window.

The PA UC website is undergoing maintenance today from 6am-11am according to an alert I received yesterday through my dashboard. They do this monthly, usually the second Tuesday. You should be able to access it after 11am, but I'd recommend waiting until around noon to be safe. If you're within your filing window, don't worry - they typically extend the deadline by 24 hours when they have scheduled maintenance.

Thank you! I didn't see any alert yesterday, but I guess I didn't check my dashboard. Will try again after lunch then. Appreciate the info!

they NEVER tell everyone about maintenance, i swear they do this on purpose to make people miss their filing deadlines and save money. happened to my cousin 2 months ago and they denied his claim for late filing even though the website was down

When I had this problem last month, I ended up calling the PA UC number for 3 hours straight just getting busy signals. Then I found Claimyr (claimyr.com) and it got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes who helped me file my claim over the phone. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Totally worth it because I was about to miss my filing deadline and would've lost that week's benefits.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try the website again after maintenance like the other commenter suggested, but if that doesn't work I might try this service. Did they need any special information beyond what you'd normally provide for filing?

Nope, they just help you get through to an actual UC agent. Once you're connected to PA unemployment, it's the same process as if you'd called directly - you'll need your PIN and security questions answers. But at least you're not hitting redial for hours!

The website downtime is definitely frustrating, but there are a few options: 1. Try again after maintenance (usually ends at 11am as mentioned) 2. Call the PA UC Teleserv system at 888-255-4728 to file by phone 3. Wait until later in your filing window (you have Sunday-Friday of the week following your claim week) If you consistently have trouble with the website, I recommend filing earlier in your window rather than waiting until the last day. The system gets overloaded toward the end of each filing period, especially on Thursdays and Fridays. Also, make sure you're using a supported browser - the PA UC site works best with Chrome or Edge. Some users have reported issues with Safari and Firefox.

My friend works for the UC office (not posting any inside info just what she told me) and she said they're actually updating the system so people can upload job search proof easier for the weekly requirements. Should be back today but might be glitchy for a couple days after. When my claim got stuck last year I just went to the CareerLink office and they let me use their computers to file, sometimes their connection still works even when the public site is down just fyi

That's really good to know about CareerLink! There's one about 20 minutes from my house. If I have trouble again I might try that approach. Thanks for the insider info about the updates too.

I had the same issue this morning but just tried again (it's 11:24am now) and was able to get in and file my weekly claim. The site seems to be working again, though it's running a bit slow. Hope this helps!

Just tried and got in too! Thanks for the update. Claim is filed and I can stop stressing about it now.

it's still not working for me! keeps saying my pin is invalid but i KNOW it's right. used it last week with no problem. this system is such garbage

@Oliver Alexander Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then restart your browser completely. I had the same invalid "PIN error" last month even though I knew my PIN was correct. After clearing everything and restarting, it worked fine. If that doesn t'help, you might need to call and have them reset your PIN - sometimes the system locks you out after the maintenance windows.

@Oliver Alexander Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago after maintenance. The system sometimes gets confused and thinks your PIN changed even though it didn t.'I had to call the customer service line took (forever to get through but) they were able to unlock my account and confirm my PIN was still the same. Really annoying but at least it got sorted out. You might also try waiting an hour or two and trying again - sometimes it fixes itself.

I've been dealing with PA UC website issues for months now and here's what I've learned: always try to file on Sunday or Monday if possible because the system gets overwhelmed later in the week. If you're having trouble, don't panic about missing your deadline - as long as you file within your weekly filing period (which runs Sunday through Friday), you should be fine. I keep a screenshot of any error messages I get just in case I need to prove the system was down if there are any issues with my claim later. Also, if you use a password manager, sometimes that can cause problems with the PA UC site - try typing your info manually if you're getting login errors.
