Is the PA UC website down for maintenance? Can't access my claim today
I've been trying to access my PA unemployment account since 7am this morning to file my weekly claim and keep getting an error message saying 'Service Unavailable'. I've tried using different browsers (Chrome and Edge) and even my phone but nothing works. Is the system down for scheduled maintenance that I didn't know about? Or is anyone else having this issue? I really need to file today since it's my filing day and I don't want to miss my payment.

Same here! Been trying since 6:30am and can't get through. The site loads the login page but when I enter my credentials it freezes then gives me that service unavailable message. I called the regular UC number but just got the usual busy signal. Glad it's not just me though.

•They're doing system updates today. It was announced on their Twitter account yesterday that the system would be down from 6am-2pm for maintenance. Try again after 2pm and it should be working. If you miss your filing day because of the maintenance, they usually give you an extra day.

•I don't think that's entirely fair. They usually post maintenance notices on their website and social media. I saw something about it earlier this week but forgot exactly when it was happening. The real problem is that they schedule these updates during normal business hours instead of overnight when fewer people would be affected.

This happens about once a month for system maintenance. It should be back up by 2pm according to their social media. If today is your regular filing day and you can't file because of the system being down, you can file tomorrow without penalty. PA UC gives a small grace period for technical issues like this. Just make sure you file as soon as the system is back up. If you're really worried about missing the filing window, you can also file by phone through the PAT system at 888-255-4728, which sometimes works even when the website is down.

•Thank you! I didn't even think to check their social media for announcements. I'll try again after 2pm. Does anyone know if the PAT phone system is working right now? I might try that instead of waiting.

Just a heads up that sometimes after these maintenance periods, the site can be really slow or glitchy for a few hours. Last month after maintenance I kept getting logged out mid-claim. If that happens, wait an hour or so and try again.

This happened to me last month too!!! I panicked and tried to call them for HOURS but couldn't get through. I found this service called Claimyr that connected me to an actual UC agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending all day calling and getting busy signals. They have a demo video here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and their website is claimyr.com. The agent told me about the maintenance and assured me I could file the next day without issues. Saved me a lot of stress!

•Yes, it worked for me twice now. They basically call UC for you and hold your place in line, then call you when they get through to an agent. Way better than getting busy signals all day.

For future reference, I recommend following the PA Labor & Industry Twitter/X account (@PALaborIndustry) and checking their website announcements section. They usually post system maintenance schedules a few days in advance. They also have an email notification system you can sign up for that will alert you about planned outages.
