PA UC website freezing and timing out - can't complete weekly certification
Is anyone else having problems with the PA unemployment website today? I've been trying to file my weekly certification for over an hour but the site keeps freezing on the work search activities page. It just shows the spinning circle and never loads the next page. I've tried refreshing, using different browsers (Chrome and Edge), and even my phone but nothing works. My internet is fine for everything else. This is stressing me out because I don't want to miss my filing window! Has the system been glitchy for anyone else this weekend?

Yeah the UC website is definitely having issues today. I was stuck on the same page for almost 30 minutes before it finally went through. Try logging in really early in the morning (like 5am) or late at night when fewer people are on the system. That's when I've had the best luck with the PA site not timing out.

omg same!!! stuck on that stupid page for like 20 min then got an error message. tried again and got kicked out completely. PA UC website is THE WORST

•It's because they're running weekend maintenance. They do this every few months but NEVER announce it properly. The site is always garbage on the 3rd Sunday of the month from what I've noticed.

This is a known issue happening today. PA UC is experiencing higher than normal volume plus they're doing some backend updates to the system. Here's what you can try: 1. Clear your browser cache completely 2. Try using the UC site during off-peak hours (before 7am or after 10pm) 3. Make sure you're not using any browser extensions that might interfere 4. If all else fails, you can request a backdated weekly certification if you call and explain the technical issue Also, don't worry too much about the filing window - if you can document that you tried to file and the system was down, they will typically allow late filing without penalty.

Tried to file at 6:30 this morning and got thru no problem. Maybe try different times? The weeknd is when EVERYONE tries to do their weekly filings so system gets overloaded.

•The problem isn't just traffic though. I work in IT and this looks like their server load balancing is failing. The site has been getting progressively worse over the past few months. My wife has the same issues and she files on weekdays!

After fighting with the PA UC website for WEEKS trying to fix issues with my claim, I finally used Claimyr to get through to an actual person at unemployment. It was the only way I could get my claim fixed after the website kept freezing and timing out. •Yes! The agent I got was able to manually file my weekly claim when the website was down for maintenance. They can basically do anything over the phone that you'd do online, and sometimes it's actually faster once you get through.

Just a heads up - I just checked the PA UC Facebook page and they posted that they're aware of the website issues and are working on them. They said to try again after midnight tonight when they complete the system maintenance.

UPDATE: I was finally able to get through at 11:30pm last night! The site was still slow but at least it didn't freeze completely. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. For anyone else having this problem, definitely try late at night when there's less traffic.

•Great to hear! For future reference, Sunday nights are always the highest volume for PA UC weekly filings. If possible, try filing on Monday or Tuesday morning instead - much less traffic and fewer technical issues.
