NY unemployment website keeps crashing when I try to certify weekly

Yes!!!! I've been having the EXACT same issue since last Friday. The website keeps timing out or giving some BS error code when I try to certify. I thought it was just my internet connection but I guess the system is just broken as usual 🙄

After 6 failed attempts with the website, I ended up using this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls unemployment for you and got a callback with an actual person who helped me certify over the phone. It was the only thing that worked after dealing with the broken site for days. Best decision ever - got my payment processed right away. try clearing your browsers cache and cookies. sometimes that helps. also make sure your not using a vpn when you login cause the site blocks those. ive had this issue a bunch of times.

Got my certification issue resolved in one call and my payment was released the next day. Lastly, document everything - take screenshots of errors, note dates/times you tried to certify, and keep a log of all your work search activities. This just happened to me too! The only way I got it resolved was by using claimyr.com to get someone on the phone. The agent told me there's been a system-wide glitch affecting a ton of accounts but they can override it on their end. Might be worth a try.

have you tried accessing the website using microsoft edge? for some weird reason the ny unemployment site works better on that browser. happened to me a few months ago too

I work in IT and this is probably because they're running their system on ancient technology that can't handle the user load. The NY unemployment system runs on COBOL which is a programming language from the 1950s!!! No joke! They just patch things together and hope it holds.

If u miss ur certification window u can still backdate it! u just gotta call and explain the technical difficulties. they'll make u fill out a form but u'll still get paid eventually
