PA UC payment with 1/18 paydate still not received - anyone else waiting?

I'm starting to get really nervous. My UC benefit payment has a paydate of 1/18 but still hasn't hit my Money Network card. Online portal shows 'payment issued' but nothing's in my account after checking like 20 times today. Called the UC service center but can't get through (big surprise). Anyone else with the same paydate still waiting? Is there a delay happening or should I be panicking? This is a $645 payment I desperately need for rent due on the 1st.

There's been a processing delay with the Money Network system. I just got off the phone with a UC rep (after 3 hours on hold!) and they confirmed payments with 1/17-1/19 paydates are delayed but should post by tomorrow evening. Apparently there was a system update that caused a backlog.

Omg thank you!!! How did you actually get through to someone? I've been calling nonstop and just get the busy signal or it hangs up on me after the automated menu.

Same! My paydate is also 1/18 and nothing yet. This is getting ridiculous. Last month they were actually a day early, now this delay with zero communication. 🙄

Try to remain calm - this happens occasionally. I went through the same thing last month with a 12/14 paydate that didn't post until 12/17. The payment date in the system is just when it's processed by PA UC, not when it actually hits your card. There can be 1-3 business days of processing time, and with the holiday weekend coming up, that might be adding to the delay. Check your payment history on the UC portal - if it shows 'payment issued' you should be fine.

Thanks for the info. It does show 'payment issued' but my landlord isn't exactly understanding about these delays. Do you know if there's a way to get some kind of proof I can show him that the money is actually coming?

I WENT THOUGH SOMETHING SIMLAR BACK IN NOVEMBER!!!! They said payment was issued on the 8th but didnt hit my account until the 13th!!! The UC system is BROKEN and nobody cares about us who are trying to survive!!! I filed a complaint with my state rep but guess what NOTHING HAPPENED!!!!

Filing a complaint probably won't help with payment delays since they're usually due to the bank processing times, not UC itself. But you can print your payment history from the portal as proof of the upcoming deposit if you need to show your landlord or utility companies.

I actually discovered a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to a PA UC agent when I had a similar issue last month. I was getting desperate after days of busy signals. It costs a bit but they connected me to a UC rep in about 15 minutes. You can check them out at claimyr.com - they have a video demo too: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Might be worth it if you need to talk to someone today about your payment.

Thank you! I might try this if my payment doesn't show up by tomorrow. Did they actually help resolve your issue when you got through?

is this legit? seems sketchy that you have to pay to talk to unemployment. shouldnt this be free???

@profile6 It is legitimate - they don't replace the UC service, they just help you get through the phone system. The UC services are still free, but this helps bypass the busy signals. I was skeptical too but it worked for me. @profile5 Yes, once I got through, the UC rep was able to tell me exactly what was causing my delay and when I could expect the payment. They also put a note on my account to expedite it.

Update: My payment JUST posted to my Money Network card! Looks like it was just delayed by a couple days. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance!

Glad to hear it came through! For future reference, Money Network typically takes 1-3 business days after the paydate shown in the UC system, and that's considered normal processing time. If you ever need to plan for bills, always add a few days to whatever paydate the UC portal shows.

This is helpful info about the timing! I've been on UC for 6 weeks and still learning how it all works. Does anyone know if there's a way to set up text alerts when payments post? The uncertainty is what makes it so stressful.

You can set up alerts through the Money Network app or website. Go to account settings and look for notification preferences. You can get texts or emails when deposits post to your card. Makes life much easier!
