If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

wait do we have to pay state tax on it too or just federal??

Yes, in Pennsylvania, unemployment compensation is subject to both federal AND state income tax. The state tax rate in PA is a flat 3.07%. If you're currently on UC, you should consider having both federal and state taxes withheld to avoid a surprise at tax time.

heres a tip - if u end up owing a bunch in taxes bc of this, u can set up a payment plan with the IRS. thats what i had to do. its online and pretty easy

That's helpful, thanks! I don't actually owe money, I just got a much smaller refund than expected, but good to know for others in this situation.

Has anyone had luck getting through by using the chat feature on the website instead of calling? I tried that route once but got disconnected after waiting 40 minutes...

The chat feature is connected to the same queue as phone calls - both are severely understaffed. Your chances aren't much better with chat, unfortunately. And some actions (like overriding a new claim process) usually need to be handled by phone anyway.

UPDATE: I finally got through to someone! Used the Claimyr service mentioned above and got connected in about 35 minutes. The agent confirmed everything you all said - the one-day job triggered a new claim because I earned over 6x my weekly benefit rate. She was able to expedite my claim processing and marked it as a "special handling case" due to it being just temporary work. She said I should see my benefits resume within 7-10 days and YES they will backdate and remove the waiting week requirement since this shouldn't have been processed as a completely new claim. Thanks everyone for the help! This forum saved me from weeks of stress.

That's great news! Glad you got it sorted. This is exactly why it's so important to get through to a real person when these things happen.

my sister had her baby last year and missed some UC thing too and she just wrote a letter explaining about the birth and sent it with a copy of the birth certificate and they reversed the disqualification. childbirth is definitely considered a valid reason especially with NICU time! dont stress too much about it

That's so reassuring to hear! I'm gathering all my documentation now. Between the hospital discharge papers and NICU records, hopefully that's enough proof. It's just so stressful dealing with this while taking care of a newborn.

One more thing to be aware of - since this is a seasonal layoff from construction, make sure his employer actually reported the layoff to UC. Sometimes employers will say they've filed the paperwork but haven't actually done it, which can delay benefits. If his dashboard shows his employer information correctly and his monetary determination is final (not pending), then you should be good to go.

I just checked and yes, his employer info is showing correctly and the monetary determination says Final. So that part seems to be in order. Thank you for mentioning it though!

To directly answer your original question: The transaction number should appear within 2-3 business days after filing (so by Wednesday), and the pay date usually follows 1-2 business days after that. So if you file on Sunday and there are no issues with the claim, the payment should be available by Friday at the latest, though sometimes it can be as early as Thursday.

Perfect - thank you for the clear timeline! I'll help him file first thing Sunday morning.

This happened to me! I think I know what might be wrong. Check if your claim spans a benefit year ending date - claims that start in one benefit year and continue into a new one often get stuck. They require manual processing but nobody tells you this. You just have to wait in limbo until they do it.

0 coins

That could definitely be part of it! My claim did start in December which would be near the end of a quarter. Now that I've spoken to someone, they said there was an employer protest plus some quarterly review issues. Such a relief to finally know instead of being completely in the dark.

did they promise to release all your backpay at once? make sure they dont try to only give you some of it!!!

0 coins

Yes, they said once the determination is made (assuming it's in my favor), all backpay would be processed at once. I made sure to get the rep's name and ID number just in case I need to reference this conversation later. I've learned my lesson about documentation through this whole ordeal!
