omg u guys r making me nervous lol i have a hearing next week for my claim i hope my boss doesnt show up!!
One last tip I forgot to mention: KEEP FILING YOUR WEEKLY CLAIMS during the entire appeal process! If you win your appeal, they'll only pay you for weeks you properly certified. I've seen people win appeals but miss out on thousands because they stopped filing during the appeal process. Don't make that mistake!
This happens every holiday. My brother works for a bank and says all the ACH transfers get backed up after federal holidays. Its not just unemployment its everything. One time my paycheck was 3 days late after 4th of July weekend and I about had a heart attack lol
For future reference, always give payments 2-3 business days after holidays to process. Also, if you're cutting it close with bills, remember you can request your payment method be changed from direct deposit to paper check or vice versa through your dashboard. Some people find one method faster than the other depending on their bank. Glad your payment arrived!
I finally resolved my IDme issue last month after similar frustrations. Here are the exact steps that worked for me: 1. Complete a new IDme verification through their website directly (not through the PA UC portal) 2. After verification, take screenshots of your completed verification and confirmation 3. Email those screenshots to UCHelp@pa.gov with your claim number in the subject line 4. Call the PA UC number at exactly 7:59am (right before they open) - this increased my chances of getting through 5. When connected, ask specifically for a "manual synchronization of IDme verification" It took about 4 days after these steps, but my claim finally processed. Hope this helps someone else stuck in this nightmare!
UPDATE: Finally got through using the Claimyr service mentioned above! After 4 weeks of nothing, I had a PA UC rep on the phone within 45 minutes of trying Claimyr. The rep confirmed my IDme verification was actually complete on their end but hadn't updated in their system. She manually released my claim and my payment should process in 2-3 business days. For anyone else stuck in this mess, getting to an actual human was the only solution. The rep said they're seeing tons of these "stuck in verification" issues and only a live person can fix them. Worth every penny to not spend weeks more waiting!
This is exactly what I've been saying! The system is DESIGNED to create these obstacles. Glad you got through but it's ridiculous you had to pay a third-party service to access a government benefit you're entitled to. The whole system needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
Good to hear you got resolution! For anyone else reading this thread later - if you do get through to a rep, be sure to ask them to add notes to your file about the manual verification. This helps if you end up with the same issue during your benefit year, as they can see it was previously resolved.
Just wanted to add - save a copy of any email correspondence between you and your employer about your sick days. Also, make sure you understand the difference between being fired for cause (misconduct) versus being fired for performance issues. In PA, you generally qualify for UC if you were fired for performance reasons, but not for willful misconduct. Since you had doctor's notes for your absences, that strongly supports your case.

THE PA UC SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU GIVE UP!!!! I got laid off last year and they made everything so complicated I almost gave up too. They'll probably try to deny you because it's been so long but DON'T GIVE UP if they do. The appeal process actually works sometimes but they count on people not appealing when denied. The whole system is rigged against us regular people!!

•While the system can certainly be frustrating, appeals exist for a reason and many people do win their appeals when they have legitimate reasons for filing late or other issues. The key is documentation and persistence. Medical reasons like postpartum depression are specifically mentioned in PA UC regulations as potential good cause for late filing.

Update: I filed my claim online yesterday and did my best to explain the postpartum depression situation in the comments. They have scheduled a phone interview for next week to discuss the late filing. I'm gathering all my medical documentation now. Thank you everyone for the advice and support! Fingers crossed this works out.

•That's great news! For the phone interview, make sure you have all your documents ready and be very clear about the timeline of events. Write down important dates beforehand so you don't get flustered. Be honest about how your condition prevented you from filing earlier. Good luck, and please let us know how it goes!
