PA UC payment shows 'paid' but never received - Money Network card still empty after 9 days

I'm really stressed out! My unemployment payment was marked as 'paid' on my PA UC dashboard last Monday (9 days ago), but the money never showed up on my Money Network card. I've checked the balance online and through the app multiple times - still nothing. This is a $623 payment that I desperately need for rent. The payment status definitely says 'paid' not 'in progress' or anything else. Has anyone else experienced this delay? Is there a way to trace where my payment went? I tried calling the UC service center about 20 times but kept getting busy signals or disconnected after waiting.

Omg the exact same thing happened to me last month!! Mine said paid for like 11 days before it hit my card. Its rediculous how they can mark it paid when its clearly NOT in our accounts. I kept checking my Money Network balance like 5 times a day and nothing. Have you checked to make sure your card is still active? Sometimes they deactivate if you haven't used it in a while.

Thanks for responding! My card is definitely active - I used it at the grocery store last week with my previous payment. Did you end up doing anything special to get your payment or did it just randomly appear after 11 days?

This could be several different issues, and it's important to check a few things: 1. Verify your payment method hasn't changed in the system (direct deposit vs. Money Network card) 2. Check if there's an open issue that appeared after the payment was processed 3. Confirm the payment wasn't intercepted for overpayment recovery or child support 4. Contact Money Network directly at 888-233-5916 to see if they can trace the payment on their end If Money Network doesn't show any pending deposits, you need to reach PA UC directly. They can see exactly where the payment went after it left their system.

Thank you for these suggestions! I didn't even think to call Money Network directly. I'll try them first thing tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I don't have any overpayments or child support issues, but I'll double check that too.

I had this EXACT problem in February! Turns out there was a system glitch where payments were showing as "paid" in the UC system but were never actually transmitted to Money Network. What fixed it for me was filing a payment tracer. You need to wait 7 business days after the payment shows as paid, then call UC and specifically request a "payment tracer" - they'll investigate where the money went. In my case, they had to reissue the payment completely, took about 10 more days after I filed the tracer.

Oh wow, that's good to know about the payment tracer! I'm definitely past the 7 business day mark now. Guess I need to somehow get through to an actual person at UC to request this.

Try Claimyr to get through to PA UC. I was in the same boat - payment said processed but nothing on my card for 2 weeks. I kept calling and calling with no luck. Then I used this service called Claimyr and got through to a rep in about 20 minutes. They have a system that keeps dialing for you until they get through, then call you back when they have a rep on the line. Cost some money but totally worth it to actually talk to someone. They have a demo video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and the website is claimyr.com

is that service legit? sounds kinda sketchy tbh

@anxiousclaimant it's 100% legit. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for 3 days to reach someone. They just automate the calling process and connect you when they get through. You still talk directly to UC yourself.

sometimes the system is just slow. my payment shows paid every tuesday but don't show up on my card until thursday or friday most weeks. have you called the money network card people? maybe your card has an issue

9 days seems way beyond normal processing delays though. I'll definitely call Money Network tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion.

THE PA UC SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY BROKEN!!! I had THREE payments marked as "paid" back in January that NEVER showed up on my card. When I finally got through to someone after TWO WEEKS of calling, they told me it was a "system error" and had to manually reprocess all three payments. By then my electricity had been shut off and I had late fees on everything. They don't care AT ALL about us. The money is sitting in their accounts earning interest while we can't pay our bills!!!!

That's absolutely terrifying. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Did they at least expedite the reprocessed payments once you got through to someone?

@missedpayment Nope! Still took another 5 business days after they "fixed" it. No apology, no compensation for late fees, NOTHING.

I'd recommend calling first thing in the morning right when they open at 8am. That's when I've had the best luck getting through. Keep detailed notes of who you speak with and what they tell you. If they say they'll reissue the payment, ask for a specific timeframe and confirmation number for the reissuance.

Great tip about calling right at 8am. I'll try that tomorrow and definitely keep notes. Thanks!

One important update - after you speak with an agent and they resolve this issue, make sure to check your dashboard every day for the next few weeks. Sometimes fixing one problem can trigger a system review that creates new issues. I've seen cases where people get their missing payment fixed only to have the next payment flagged for review because the system detected an "unusual payment pattern.

I appreciate the warning! This system seems incredibly fragile. I'll keep a close eye on everything going forward.

my friend had this happen and it turned out money network had her old address so they mailed a paper check instead of putting it on her card. did u move recently?

I haven't moved in over 2 years, and my previous payments came through fine to the card. But that's good to know they might mail a check instead - I'll keep an eye on my mailbox too.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Money Network (actually got through!) and they have NO RECORD of any pending deposit from PA UC. The representative confirmed my card is active and in good standing, but said there's absolutely nothing showing up on their end. Now I'm even more worried - where did my money go if UC says it's paid but Money Network never received it?!?

@missedpayment That's exactly what happened in my case. UC system said paid, Money Network had no record. 100% you need to reach a UC rep to file a payment tracer. This isn't something that will resolve itself. I really recommend using Claimyr to get through - it saved me from having to redial for days.

At this point I'm desperate enough to try anything. I'll check out Claimyr today. Thanks for the suggestion!

Based on your update, you definitely need to speak with UC directly. Money Network can't help if they never received the payment. Request both a payment tracer AND a payment search - these are two different processes. The tracer follows where the payment went, and the search looks for payments that may have been issued under incorrect information.

Thank you for the specific terms to use! I'll ask for both a payment tracer AND a payment search. Really appreciate the help from everyone here.

FINAL UPDATE: I finally got through to PA UC using Claimyr (thanks for that suggestion!). The rep found that my payment had been incorrectly routed to direct deposit despite my payment method showing as the debit card in my account. They're reissuing the payment to my Money Network card, but said it will take 3-5 business days to process. At least I know what happened now! For anyone else with this issue - definitely request both a payment tracer and payment search as suggested here. The rep said this routing error has been happening to quite a few people recently.

So glad you got this resolved! That routing error explanation makes total sense - the system probably had some kind of glitch where it defaulted to direct deposit settings even though your profile showed the debit card. Thanks for sharing the update, this will definitely help other people who run into the same issue. The fact that the rep said it's happening to "quite a few people recently" is concerning though - sounds like PA UC has a systemic problem they need to fix. At least now you know the money wasn't lost, just misdirected!

That's such a relief to hear you got it sorted out! The routing error thing is really scary though - makes me wonder how many people are dealing with this and don't know what happened to their money. I'm definitely saving this thread for future reference in case I run into payment issues. The suggestion about asking for both a payment tracer AND payment search seems really important since they're different processes. Hope your reissued payment comes through quickly!

This is really helpful information! I'm currently dealing with a similar situation where my payment shows "paid" but hasn't hit my ReliaCard yet (it's been 6 days). After reading through this thread, I'm going to call Money Network first to confirm they have no record of the payment, then use the specific terms "payment tracer" and "payment search" when I contact PA UC. The routing error you discovered is eye-opening - I never would have thought to check if my payment method got switched in their system somehow. Thanks for sharing your experience and the resolution!

Good luck with your situation! Definitely follow that exact process - call Money Network first to confirm, then use those specific terms with PA UC. Based on what Drake found out, it seems like this routing error might be more common than we thought. You might want to also double-check your payment method settings in your UC dashboard to make sure it still shows ReliaCard as selected. Sometimes the system changes things without any notification to the user. Hope you get it resolved quickly!
