PA UC payment delay - 3 weeks without update, anyone call and get answers?
I've been collecting PA unemployment for about 2 months now with no issues, but my last 3 weekly claims show 'payment in progress' with no money deposited to my Money Network card. The claim status online just says 'in progress' with no explanation for the delay. Has anyone actually managed to get through to a UC rep by phone to find out why payments are stalled? I've tried calling at least 20 times over the past week and always get the busy signal or automated message saying call volume is too high. Starting to panic as rent is due next week and I was counting on this money. Any tips on actually speaking to someone?

After weeks of trying to call and getting nowhere, I tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) and finally got through to someone at UC. They have this service where they basically call for you and connect you when they get through. Saved me HOURS of redial hell. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 - It got me through to a rep who explained my payment delay was due to a random quarterly verification that got flagged because I had a part-time job for 2 weeks during my benefit year. Once I talked to someone, they cleared it within minutes.

•Thanks for the tip! Did you have to explain anything special to the rep once you got through? I'm worried there's some form or verification I missed that's causing the delay.

OMG I'm in the EXACT same boat!!! Payment in progress for going on 4 weeks now and nobody picks up when i call!!! So frustrating cuz bills don't wait for PA to get it together!! Did u try the chat feature online? I tried but gave up after waiting 2 hours and still being number 47 in line 😡😡😡

•I tried the chat last week and gave up after 1.5 hours. Still had 30+ people ahead of me. This system is ridiculous - how can they expect people to wait when we need this money for basic necessities?

This is actually a common issue right now. The system flags accounts for random quarterly reviews, but they don't tell you that's happening. In my experience, payment delays usually happen because of one of these reasons: 1. Quarterly wage verification (most common right now) 2. Work search activity verification 3. Benefit year transition issues 4. Identity verification flags You definitely need to speak with someone. Try calling precisely at 7:59am when they first open - that's when I finally got through after 2 weeks of trying. Be prepared with your claim number, SSN, and any work information from your base year.

I had this problem back in February. For me, it turned out I had checked something wrong on my weekly certification - I accidentally said I had refused work when I meant to say I hadn't. Try reviewing your last few weekly certifications to see if there might be any mistakes. When I finally got through to someone, they were able to correct it and released all my payments at once.

•That's a good point. I'll go back and look at my weekly claims more carefully. It's hard to remember exactly what I answered each week, but maybe there was an error I didn't notice. Still need to get someone on the phone though.

have u tried going to the actual unemployment office? sometimes u can get help in person faster than phone. my brother did that when his account got locked for "suspicious activity" which was just him using a different computer to file lol

I'm dealing with the same payment delay! My state rep's office actually helped me. I called my local state representative and explained the situation, and they have special contacts at UC who can check your claim. They called me back 2 days later with an update saying my claim was under review due to my last employer disputing something. Worth a try if you can't get through on the regular line.

•I hadn't thought of contacting my state rep. That's a smart idea if I can't get through in the next few days. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just to give you a update on what's happening behind the scenes - PA UC is currently dealing with a high volume of quarterly wage verifications because it's the start of a new quarter. This happens every January, April, July, and October. It's normal for payments to be delayed 2-3 weeks during these periods while they match your reported income with employer records. Unfortunately, they don't communicate this clearly to claimants. If your delay started around early April, this is likely the cause, and your payments should resume automatically once verified.

•That timing actually matches up perfectly with when my payments stopped. I filed my first delayed claim on April 2nd. I wish they would just tell us this was happening instead of leaving us in the dark! Thanks for the explanation.

•That's why I finally tried that Claimyr service. I was skeptical but desperate after weeks of trying. Finally getting through to someone was worth it because they fixed my issue in literally 5 minutes once I explained what was happening.

When your payments do resume, they should include all the back weeks at once. Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even while payments are delayed - if you stop filing, you'll have to reopen your claim which creates even more delays. Also, double-check that your payment method hasn't changed in the system. Sometimes the system randomly switches from direct deposit back to debit card or vice versa.

•That's a relief to hear they'll pay the back weeks all at once. I've definitely kept filing every week even though nothing's being paid. I'll check my payment method right now to make sure it hasn't changed. Thanks!
