PA UC debit card wait time - 3 weeks and still nothing!

I filed for PA unemployment and got approved 3 weeks ago. My bi-weekly claims have been processed as 'payment issued' according to the dashboard, but I still haven't received my Money Network debit card in the mail. Getting worried since I have bills piling up. How long did everyone else wait for their card to arrive? Is there a way to track it? I tried calling the UC service center but can't get through to a human. Starting to panic a little...

The Money Network cards typically take 7-10 business days to arrive after your first payment is processed. Since you're at 3 weeks now, you should definitely follow up. You can call the Money Network directly at 888-233-5916 to check the status or request a replacement. Sometimes they get lost in the mail or sent to an old address.

Thanks for the info! I'll try calling Money Network tomorrow. Do you know if they'll expedite a replacement if the first one never showed up?

mine took almost 4 weeks to come last year... the mail is terrible in my area tho

Same here! I waited forever for mine too. The frustrating part is they won't even tell you when they mail it out.

I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM last month!!! Called PA UC like 50 TIMES and couldn't get through to anyone!!! Finally used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual person at UC within 30 mins. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. The agent told me my card had been returned to them because of an address error and they had to resend it. Might be worth checking!

Oh wow, that might be my issue too. I did move recently but thought I updated my address everywhere. I'll check out that service - at this point I just need to talk to someone!

you have to call money network not uc for card issues. they're different departments. uc just processes your claim but money network handles the cards

This isn't completely accurate. While Money Network does handle the cards, sometimes the issue is on the UC side where they haven't properly transmitted your information to Money Network. I had to get UC to resend my information before Money Network could even see me in their system. It's worth calling both.

Is this your first time on unemployment? If you previously had a PA UC debit card (even years ago), they sometimes reuse the same card and don't automatically send a new one. Check if you still have an old one somewhere.

This is my first time on UC, so definitely should be getting a new card. I'm worried something got messed up in my application maybe?

One more thing to check - log into your PA UC dashboard and verify your mailing address is correct. If there was a typo or outdated address, that could explain the delay. Also, if you do end up calling Money Network, ask them to expedite the replacement card. They can do this for a small fee (around $15) and you'll get it in 3 business days instead of waiting another 7-10 days.

Just checked my dashboard and the address looks correct. I think I'll try both calling Money Network tomorrow and using that Claimyr service to reach UC directly. I need this resolved ASAP since I'm almost a month without income now.

btw you can also set up direct deposit instead of using the card, thats what i did after my card took forever

I didn't know that was an option! How do you set that up? Would it be faster than waiting for a replacement card?

To set up direct deposit, go to your PA UC dashboard, select Payment Information, then Update Payment Type. You'll need your bank account and routing numbers. This is much more convenient than the debit card. However, even if you set up direct deposit now, any payments already sent to the debit card will still be on the card - they won't be redirected to your bank account. Future payments will go to your bank once direct deposit is activated.

Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I'm going to set this up right now. At least future payments will go directly to my bank account.

Let us know what happens! Once you reach someone at UC, they should be able to see exactly when your card was mailed out. If it's been more than 10 business days since that date, they should issue a replacement automatically. The direct deposit option is definitely better for the future, but you'll still need to recover those initial payments.

I finally got through to PA UC using that Claimyr service! They confirmed my card was mailed out on March 1st (exactly 3 weeks ago). Since it never arrived, they're canceling that card and issuing a new one with expedited shipping. Also set up direct deposit for future payments. Thanks everyone for your help!

That's awesome that you got it resolved! Claimyr really seems to be a game-changer for actually reaching someone at PA UC. How long did the whole process take once you connected with an agent? I'm bookmarking that service for future reference since getting through to UC is always such a nightmare. Hope your new card arrives quickly!
