EDD Money Network Card Delays - Anyone waiting more than 2 weeks?

Applied for unemployment benefits 3 weeks ago and got approved last Thursday. My UI Online account shows payments being issued, but I still haven't received my Money Network debit card in the mail. Starting to get worried since rent is coming up soon. How long did everyone else have to wait for their card to arrive after being approved? Is there a way to check the status or should I just keep waiting? Tried calling EDD but you know how that goes...

Mine took exactly 10 business days to arrive after my first payment was issued. The EDD website says 7-10 business days but that's honestly the best case scenario. If you've waited more than 2 weeks since your first payment was processed, I'd recommend calling the Money Network directly at 1-866-692-9374. They can tell you if the card was actually mailed and can expedite a replacement if needed (though they charge $10 for that).

Thanks! I'm at 11 business days now so I'll give them a call tomorrow. Do you know if I need any specific info when I call them? Like a tracking number or something?

The delivery timeframe is officially 7-10 business days, but with the current volume of claims, many people are experiencing delays. The most important thing is to verify your mailing address is correct in your UI Online account. Mail forwarding doesn't work with these cards, so if you've moved recently, that could be causing the delay.

Mine took FOREVER. Almost a month! I was panicking because I had almost $3700 in payments that I couldn't access. Kept calling EDD but couldn't get through until I found out you can actually call the Bank of America card services directly. They told me my card had been returned to them because of a "delivery issue" even though my address was 100% correct. Had to request a new one and wait another week. Total nightmare.

Bank of America doesn't handle EDD cards anymore, they switched to Money Network last year. So that advice is outdated, just FYI.

Try using Claimyr to reach an EDD agent quickly - they got me through to someone in about 20 minutes when I had issues with my card not arriving. The agent was able to confirm it had been mailed and gave me the exact date. Saved me days of stress wondering. You can see how it works at claimyr.com and there's a video demo here: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km - way better than calling for hours on end!

Is this a real service? Seems sketchy that you have to pay money just to talk to EDD when it's literally their job to help us. Why should we have to pay extra when we're already broke and dealing with unemployment?

Important information about the Money Network EDD debit cards that might help: 1. First-time cards typically take 7-10 business days, but current processing times are running closer to 10-14 business days 2. You can check if payments were actually loaded onto your card by creating an account at moneynetwork.com/eddcard - you'll need your EDD Customer Account Number to register 3. If it's been over 14 business days since your first payment was issued, call Money Network directly at 1-866-692-9374 (option 0 for a representative) 4. They can verify if the card was mailed, when it was mailed, and can issue a replacement if needed 5. Make sure your mailing address is EXACTLY correct in UI Online - even minor differences can cause delivery issues

This is super helpful, thank you! I tried creating an account on moneynetwork.com/eddcard but it said it couldn't locate my info. Does that mean they haven't even issued my card yet? My UI Online account definitely shows payments as "paid" not "pending".

If you can't register on the Money Network site but UI Online shows payments as "paid," it likely means the card has been authorized but not yet fully processed or mailed. This sometimes happens during high-volume periods. Definitely call Money Network directly - they can see exactly where your card is in their system and provide more accurate information than EDD representatives.

My cousin had this same problem last month and it turns out his card was stolen from his mailbox!! He didn't find out until he called and they told him it had been delivered two weeks earlier. You might want to check with neighbors if anyone saw mail being taken or if any other mail has gone missing lately. Really hope that's not what happened to you though!

Oh no, I hadn't even considered that possibility! I'm in an apartment building with locked mailboxes, but I should probably check with my building manager. Thanks for the heads up!

Quick update on timeframes based on what I've heard from others recently: - Regular timeline: 7-10 business days - Current actual average: 10-14 business days - If you need it faster: You can request expedited shipping for $10 (2-3 business days) - Replacement cards: Usually 7-10 business days, but can be expedited for a fee If you're in a genuine financial emergency situation, mention this when you call Money Network. In some cases, they have provided emergency expedited shipping at no cost, though this isn't guaranteed.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! I'll definitely mention the financial hardship when I call. I'm going to try contacting them first thing tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: Finally got my card today! Exactly 15 business days after my first payment was issued. For anyone else in this situation - hang in there! Calling Money Network directly was definitely more helpful than trying to reach EDD. They confirmed it had been mailed and gave me the exact date. Thanks everyone for your advice!
