Just thought I'd update you - I called the PA Treasury (not UC) about my compromised card last time, and they were actually more helpful than UC. The number should be on the back of your Money Network card. They can sometimes tell you exactly what happened and expedite a replacement.
Just to give you some peace of mind while you work on this: when payments have nowhere to go because of a closed Money Network account, they typically get held in the system for up to 45 days. So your money won't be lost - it's just a matter of establishing a new payment method before you can access it. The fastest solution is usually to get through to a live person at UC who can update your payment preferences immediately.
That 45-day timeframe is really helpful to know, thank you! I managed to get through to someone using that Claimyr service another person mentioned. They're sending me a paper check for this week's payment and helped me fix the direct deposit issue for future payments. Turns out I had my account number typed wrong last time!
Listen everyone keeps talking about your HEARING but nobody's addressing your OPEN ISSUES question. After 9 weeks you need to be AGGRESSIVE about getting those fixed. Call your state rep like someone mentioned AND call UC every single day. I had to call 57 times in one day before getting through. The open issues won't magically disappear even if you win your appeal.
Try using the "posted within" filter on CareerLink - it helps a little but not completely. I've had better luck with Indeed for my work search. Remember to check the "date posted" on any job listing. Current PA work search rules: - Must complete 2 qualified activities per week - Must accept suitable work if offered - Must keep records of all work search activities for 2 years (in case of audit) - Must register with PA CareerLink within 30 days of initial UC application Don't forget that applying to jobs posted on Facebook jobs, company websites, or even inquiring about positions in person all count! The job doesn't have to come from CareerLink.
The filter doesn't work! I set it to "past 7 days" and STILL got listings from 4 months ago. The whole system is trash.
To answer your question about a specific form - PA UC doesn't require a specific form for tracking work search activities. However, they do provide an optional form called "UC-304 Record of Job Applications and Work Search Activities" that you can download from their website. Using this form ensures you're capturing all the information they might ask for in an audit. If you're filing online, you'll notice they only ask you to certify that you completed the activities, not to enter details. But keep your records safe because they do conduct random audits where they'll request your detailed work search information. Regarding the virtual workshops - yes, attending CareerLink workshops (virtual or in-person) absolutely counts as a work search activity! Many claimants don't realize this, but it's one of the easiest ways to fulfill the requirement.
I found out after WEEKS of waiting that my claim was sitting there because I had checked "yes" that I was in school even though it was just a one-day professional certification class!!! The system flagged my entire claim for THAT! So frustrating! Make sure you didn't check anything unusual on your application that might have triggered a review.
That could definitely be part of the issue. When you indicate you're in training or school, PA UC often puts a hold on your claim to verify that the training doesn't affect your availability for work. This is a standard review process, but unfortunately it does add time. Your best course of action is to: 1. Continue filing your weekly claims without fail 2. Contact a claims examiner directly to explain your training situation 3. Be prepared to provide details about your course (hours, schedule, purpose) 4. Ask specifically what documentation they need to resolve the open issue Once you explain that it was short-term training to improve employability (not a full degree program), they should be able to process your claim.
Update: I FINALLY got through to someone at UC today! You were right - the open issue was related to my training program AND a question about my separation from my employer. The rep said they've cleared both issues now and I should see payments starting next week, including all my back weeks! Such a relief. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

•Good point! We've been checking the mailbox every day now. So far nothing's come through regular mail, just that email with the hearing notice.

I just went through a hearing last month and won!!! My company tried to say I was fired for cause but I had documentation proving they were lying. Make sure your husband brings ANYTHING that shows his side - texts, emails, employee handbook, performance reviews, ANYTHING. Referees actually do listen if you have evidence.

•That's encouraging to hear! He might have some old emails that could help. Did you speak to a lawyer before your hearing or handle it yourself?

•Did it myself! Just prepared really well. Wrote out my main points, practiced what I wanted to say, and stayed calm during the hearing. The referee was actually pretty fair and listened to both sides. As long as you're honest and have some evidence, you have a good chance.
