PA UC Money Network card funds finally showing up after system delay

UPDATE: After 3 days of panic, my PA UC benefits are FINALLY loading to my Money Network card!!! For anyone else dealing with this issue - there's apparently a system-wide problem with Money Network processing UC payments this week. I was freaking out because my portal showed payment issued Monday but my card still showed $0 this morning. Called UC (took forever) and the rep confirmed they're having technical issues with Money Network that's delaying funds appearing on cards even though payments were processed correctly on their end. She said money should appear within 24 hours for most people affected. Just wanted to share since I know how stressful this waiting game is when bills are due!

omg THANK YOU for posting this!! my card has been showing zero balance since tuesday even tho the UC website says "payment issued" and i've been losing my mind. tried calling money network but got nowhere

No problem! It's so stressful. Mine literally just updated about 30 minutes after I got off the phone with UC. Check yours again later today!

This happens at least once every quarter with Money Network. It's a processing delay that they never take responsibility for. If your payment status shows as "issued" in your PA UC portal, the money will eventually appear on your card. For future reference, you can set up direct deposit to your bank account instead of using the Money Network card - it's usually 1-2 days faster and avoids these Money Network glitches. Log into your UC portal, go to Payment Information, and select Direct Deposit instead of debit card.

Thanks for the tip!! Definitely going to switch to direct deposit after this nightmare. Do you know if I need to wait until this payment clears before making the switch?

You can make the switch anytime, but any payment already processed to Money Network will still go to your card. The change will apply to future payments only. Make sure you have your bank routing and account numbers ready when you set up direct deposit.

I had the same issue last month and found a way to reach an actual person at PA UC when the regular number wasn't working. I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they got me connected to a live agent in about 20 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Saved me so much frustration when dealing with my payment delay issue.

is this legit?? seems sketchy to use a third party service when dealing with unemployment stuff

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, I recommend documenting everything. Take screenshots of your PA UC portal showing the payment was issued, note the date and time, and keep records of any conversations with representatives. This will be helpful if there are any disputes later. Also, for technical issues like this that affect multiple claimants, sometimes contacting your state representative's office can help escalate the matter. They often have direct lines to unemployment office supervisors.

Good advice! I did take screenshots of everything just in case. My funds did finally show up around 4pm today - so about 3 days later than normal. Hopefully everyone else affected sees their money soon too!

THE WHOLE PA SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!!! Ive been dealing with this same type of garbage for MONTHS!!! one week the money comes tuesday, next week friday, sometimes NOT AT ALL and then they blame ME for something!!! money network is THE WORST and PA UC doesnt care AT ALL about us regular people who need are money to LIVE!!!!

I understand your frustration, but sometimes these delays are due to technical issues rather than negligence. The Money Network system does experience periodic delays, but in most cases, the funds do eventually appear. Have you considered switching to direct deposit? That might help avoid some of these card-related delays.

Sounds like you're having the exact same issue! The UC rep I talked to said it's affecting "many" cardholders this week but not necessarily everyone. Definitely keep checking your card balance throughout the day.

My sister in law had this happen last month and she got her money but it took 4 days instead of the usual 2. Something about a batch processing error they said. I dont use the card anymore I switched to direct deposit after they randomly froze my card last year for "verification" and I couldnt buy groceries for a week!!

Direct deposit is definitely more reliable. For anyone wanting to switch: log into your PA UC portal, select "View and Maintain Account Information," then "Payment Information," and choose the direct deposit option. You'll need your bank routing and account numbers. The change usually takes effect for the next payment cycle.
