PA UC payment stuck in 'pending' status on Money Network card for over a week

I filed my weekly claim last Sunday and got the confirmation email saying my payment was processed on Tuesday. When I check my Money Network card account, it just shows 'pending' and the funds ($487) aren't available to use. It's been 8 days now and I'm getting really nervous because my rent is due next week. Is this normal for PA UC payments? Do they usually take this long to move from 'pending' to actually available? I've never had this happen before - usually the money is available same day it processes. Anyone else experiencing delays with their cards right now?

have u tried calling the number on the back of ur card? sometimes theres a hold on payments especially if its ur first one

I did call the card number but just got the automated system. It showed the pending deposit but couldn't tell me why it's stuck. This isn't my first payment - I've been on UC for about 2 months and never had this issue before.

This happened to me last month!! The payment was stuck in pending for almost 10 days and I was freaking OUT. Turns out there was some 'random verification' thing going on with my claim. The UC system flagged it for no reason and nobody bothered to tell me. I almost got evicted because of their stupid system errors!!!

Same here! The system is completely broken. They make us jump through hoops to get our own money while they sit back and take their sweet time processing everything. It's RIDICULOUS how much they make us struggle.

There are a few reasons your payment might be stuck in pending status: 1. The Money Network system is experiencing delays (happens occasionally) 2. There's an open issue on your claim that wasn't there before 3. You've reached your benefit year end and need to reapply 4. There was a job search verification randomly selected for your claim You need to check your PA UC dashboard for any new issues or messages. Also check your spam folder for emails from unemployment. If you don't see anything there, you need to speak with a representative to find out what's happening with your claim.

Thank you for this! I just checked my dashboard and there's nothing showing up as an issue. My benefit year doesn't end until November so that's not it. I guess I need to talk to someone directly at this point.

I went through this exact situation in February. Called Money Network and they said it was on PA UC's end, not theirs. Spent 3 days trying to get through to unemployment on the phone with no luck - constant busy signals and disconnections. Finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through in about 20 minutes. The agent found that my account had been randomly selected for identity verification but the notification never got sent to me. They removed the hold while I was on the phone and my payment was available the next day. There's a video that shows how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been calling repeatedly but just get busy signals. I'll check out that service - at this point I'm desperate to get this resolved before rent is due.

Just to add some clarification here - what's likely happening is that your payment has been approved at the UC level but there's either a system delay in processing to your Money Network card or a verification hold. Here's what I recommend: 1. First, verify there are no open issues by checking your dashboard AND looking at your payment history (sometimes issues show in one place but not the other) 2. If payment history shows "paid" but your card shows "pending," the issue is with Money Network, not UC. In this case, you need to speak to a Money Network representative at their direct customer service line (not the automated system). 3. If payment history shows anything other than "paid" (like "in progress" or "pending"), then the issue is with UC and you'll need to speak with them. Pending transfers typically clear within 2-3 business days at most. Anything longer than that indicates there's a specific issue that needs resolving.

This is really helpful info. I just checked and my payment history says "paid" so it sounds like the issue is with Money Network rather than UC. I'll try calling their customer service directly tomorrow morning.

No, I didn't have any earnings to report last week. I've been completely unemployed since January.

Based on your follow-up responses, since your UC payment history shows "paid" but the Money Network card still shows pending, this is definitely a card issue rather than a UC issue. Call Money Network's direct customer service line at 888-233-5916 (not the automated system) and specifically ask for a representative. Tell them you need them to check for any holds or verification requirements on your account. Sometimes they place security holds if there's been any change in your login patterns or if the system flags anything unusual.

Thank you! I'll call that direct number first thing tomorrow. Hoping they can resolve it quickly since rent is coming up fast.

YES! Finally got it resolved this morning. Called Money Network using the direct customer service number someone suggested. Turns out they had placed a security hold because I had logged in from a different device last week (my sister's computer when mine was being repaired). They released the hold while I was on the phone and said funds should be available within 24 hours. Just checked and the money is there now! Such a relief.

OMG that's so stupid that they did that without telling you!!! But I'm glad you got it fixed!! 🙌
