PA UC claim went from 'under review' to 'paid' - when will Money Network card get funds?

So I've been stressing for weeks with my PA unemployment claim showing 'under review' with some issues flagged. Filed my weekly claim today and FINALLY saw no issues! System now says I should be paid this week (relief!!). I already got my Money Network card in the mail last week, but it's still at $0 balance. Anyone know how long it usually takes for the funds to actually hit the card after the system says it'll be paid? First time dealing with PA UC and I'm trying to figure out when I can actually use the money for bills. Thanks!

Once your claim switches to "paid" status, funds are typically processed within 2-3 business days to your Money Network card. If you file on Sunday or Monday, you'll usually see the deposit by Wednesday or Thursday. The first payment might take a little longer since the system is verifying everything for the first time. You can track the status through the PA UC portal under payment history or by logging into your Money Network account online.

Thanks for the quick response! So if it just changed today (Monday) I should probably expect it Thursday-ish? I'll check the payment history tab - didn't realize that was there.

congrats on getting approved!! mine took exactly 36 hrs to hit my card after status changed to paid. u can also sign up for text alerts with the money network app so u know right when it hits

The Money Network app is definitely the way to go. The text alerts saved me a lot of stress when I was waiting for payments. Just make sure your card is activated before the deposit arrives, otherwise it might cause delays with accessing the funds.

Just be careful!!! Sometimes it says it's approved but then they can still find issues later!!! My claim said approved and then a week later they sent me a letter saying I had an eligibility interview scheduled. I never got any money until after that interview which was THREE WEEKS LATER!!! The system is so broken and you can never trust what it says.

While this can happen in some cases, it's not the norm. If the system shows the claim as approved and payment as processed, issues that arise later usually affect future payments, not ones already marked for payment. The key is to check if there's a payment number and date listed in your payment history - that means it's actually being processed.

When my claim went from "issues" to "paid" back in January, the money appeared on my card exactly 2 days later. But I had terrible problems reaching anyone at UC when I had questions about why my benefits amount seemed wrong. After getting nothing but busy signals for a week, I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to a live agent in about 30 minutes. They have a video that shows how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Honestly worth it for the peace of mind to get someone on the phone who could verify everything was actually processing correctly.

Will do! I've set a reminder on my phone for Sunday mornings. Not going to risk messing this up now that it's finally working!

If you need the money faster next time, you should setup direct deposit instead of using the card. I switched to direct deposit and it usually comes a day earlier than when I was using the Money Network card. There's less fees with direct deposit too.

This is accurate advice. Direct deposit is typically 1 day faster than the debit card. You can switch to direct deposit by going to your dashboard, selecting Payment Information, and then Update. You'll need your bank account and routing numbers. The change usually takes effect for your next payment cycle.

my husband had same thing happen last month... from review with issues to suddenly saying paid. money showed up on his card around 3:30am on Wednesday! he filed on Sunday. we were so relieved! hope yours comes quickly too!!!

Congrats on getting through the review process! That's such a huge relief when you've been waiting and stressing. Based on what others have shared, it sounds like 2-3 business days is pretty standard once it switches to "paid" status. Since you filed today (Monday), I'd expect to see the funds by Wednesday or Thursday. Definitely check your payment history in the PA UC portal to see if there's a payment number assigned - that's usually a good sign it's actually being processed. And yeah, definitely keep filing those weekly claims on time going forward. The system can be finicky about missed weeks even after you're approved. Hope the money hits your card soon!

Thanks Kingston! Yeah, the stress has been unreal these past few weeks. Really appreciate everyone sharing their timelines - makes me feel way better knowing 2-3 days is normal. I checked the payment history like you and Ava suggested and there's actually a payment number there now! That's gotta be a good sign, right? Definitely not missing any weekly claims after going through all this hassle to get approved.
