Regarding the thermometer disappearing - I just checked with a friend who works at the PA UC office (not officially speaking for them). She said they actually rolled out a small website update last week that's been causing the thermometer to disappear for some users. It's a known issue they're working on fixing. So in your case, it's likely just a display glitch rather than anything wrong with your claim.
Congrats on getting approved Isabella! This is a perfect example of why people shouldn't panic when the PA UC website acts up. I've been filing claims for 3 years and honestly that thermometer disappears at least once every few months for various reasons - system updates, server issues, you name it. The real info is always in your UC mailbox and claim status, not the pretty graphics. Glad everyone here could help talk you through it instead of letting you stress out for days!
Great to hear you finally got through! I've been dealing with a similar issue trying to update my direct deposit info. The password reset thing causing account flags is something they really should warn people about - who would have thought that would lock you out of basic account functions? I'm definitely going to try the 7:30am call strategy based on your success. Thanks for updating us on what worked!
This is such a relief to see Connor got it resolved! I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now - moved two weeks ago and the website keeps erroring out when I try to update my address. I had no idea that multiple password reset attempts could flag your account like that. I definitely did that last week when I was getting frustrated with the login process. Going to try calling at 7:30am sharp tomorrow morning. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - at least now I know I'm not the only one struggling with this broken system!
Yes, the password reset flag thing is apparently a real issue that catches people off guard! I went through something similar a few months ago when I was trying to update my phone number. The system is so counterintuitive - you'd think trying to reset your password would help you access your account, not lock you out of it even more. Definitely call right at opening time, and maybe have your claim number and PIN written down ahead of time so you're ready when they pick up. The wait times seem to get exponentially worse as the day goes on. Hope you get it sorted quickly!
I've been dealing with PA UC for months now and here's what I've learned about work search requirements: 1. You need 2 work search activities per week minimum 2. Your Indeed applications absolutely count - just document everything (company, position, date, method) 3. Use your existing CareerLink account - no need for a new one 4. Keep your own records but don't upload them anywhere unless asked Pro tip: I started doing one CareerLink search + one job application each week to make it simple. For CareerLink, just search for jobs in your field and save a few to your favorites - that counts as an activity and takes like 10 minutes. The phone system is absolutely brutal. I've had success calling right at 8am when they open, but honestly most questions can be answered by reading the UC handbook online. Don't let them stress you out - as long as you're genuinely looking for work and documenting it, you're doing what you need to do. Keep your chin up - we're all in this together trying to navigate their ridiculous system!
This is exactly the kind of practical advice I needed! Thank you for breaking it down so clearly. The CareerLink + job application combo sounds like a perfect weekly routine. I'm definitely going to try the 8am calling strategy if I need to reach them again. It's really reassuring to hear from someone who's been dealing with this for months and has it figured out. Sometimes it feels like they make this system confusing on purpose, but knowing there are people here who understand and are willing to help makes such a difference!
Sean, I completely understand your frustration! I went through the exact same thing a few months ago - spent forever on hold only to get disconnected by someone who clearly didn't want to help. It's maddening when you're just trying to follow the rules correctly. What you're doing with Indeed is perfect! Just make sure you're keeping detailed records of each application (which it sounds like you already are). I use a simple Google Doc to track: date, company name, position title, where I applied (Indeed, company website, etc.), and any confirmation numbers if I get them. Your existing CareerLink account is totally fine to use - definitely don't create a new one. I actually recommend doing at least one CareerLink search each week since it counts as one of your required activities and only takes a few minutes. You can search for jobs, save some to your profile, and boom - that's activity #1 for the week. Then your Indeed applications cover activity #2. The key thing is just keeping good records for yourself. You don't need to submit them anywhere, but if they ever audit you (which is rare), you'll be covered. Don't let their terrible phone system stress you out too much - you're clearly doing everything right!
Thank you Brooklyn! This is incredibly helpful and reassuring. I was starting to feel like I was going crazy trying to figure all this out. The Google Doc tracking idea is perfect - much better than my messy handwritten notes! I'm definitely going to start incorporating those weekly CareerLink searches too. It's such a relief to hear from people who've actually navigated this system successfully. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
I'm in a similar situation - my payment date was 3/16 and I'm still waiting for my check too. This is also my first time with paper checks after having issues with the Money Network card. Reading through all these responses is really helpful though! Sounds like we just need to be patient since there are processing delays and postal service issues right now. I'm going to wait until Wednesday before calling that Treasury number someone mentioned. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - makes me feel less alone in this stressful situation!
@Kai Rivera Glad you found this thread helpful too! It s'definitely reassuring to know we re'not the only ones dealing with these delays. The info about the Treasury processing time and postal service staffing issues really put things in perspective. Hopefully both our checks show up early this week. Keep me posted on how yours goes!
I'm in the exact same boat! My payment date was 3/14 and still no check. This is my second week with paper checks after switching from the Money Network card (those ATM fees were killing me). Reading everyone's responses here is so reassuring - I was starting to panic thinking something went wrong with my claim. The info about Treasury taking 2 days to process before mailing plus the postal service delays makes total sense. I'm going to try that informed delivery signup someone mentioned so I can at least see when it's coming. Thanks for starting this thread, really needed to hear other people are experiencing the same thing!
@Freya Pedersen Yes, the informed delivery thing is a great idea! I just signed up for it after reading that suggestion. It s'free through the USPS website and shows you pictures of what mail is coming each day. At least then we ll'know if our checks are actually on the way instead of just wondering. The Money Network card fees were awful - I m'glad I m'not the only one who switched because of that. Hopefully we ll'both see our checks in informed delivery tomorrow or Tuesday!

I'm going through something similar right now - won my appeal 3 weeks ago for 8 weeks of back pay and still nothing. Reading through all these responses is both reassuring and frustrating at the same time. It sounds like 4-9 weeks is pretty normal which is insane considering we already waited months just to get the appeal hearing. I'm going to try that Bureau of UC Benefits complaint route that Angel mentioned since I'm also facing financial hardship. Has anyone had luck with contacting their local state senator's office instead of just the representative? I'm wondering if senators might have more pull with the state agencies.

•I actually contacted my state senator's office last year when I had a similar issue with delayed payments after winning an appeal. In my experience, senators' offices tend to have dedicated caseworkers who specialize in state agency issues, whereas representatives' offices sometimes handle these as general constituent services. My senator's office got back to me within 48 hours and had someone contact the UC office directly. I think it's worth trying both honestly - whoever responds first and seems most engaged is who you want to work with. The key is explaining that you're facing immediate financial hardship and need expedited processing. Good luck with the Bureau complaint too - it sounds like having multiple pressure points really helps move these cases along.

I'm dealing with almost the exact same situation right now! Won my appeal 5 weeks ago for 10 weeks of back pay and still haven't seen a dime. What's really frustrating is that my claim status online still shows the original disqualification reasons even though I have the referee's written decision saying I'm eligible. After reading everyone's responses here, I'm planning to file that Bureau of UC Benefits complaint tomorrow and also contact both my state rep AND senator's office. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops after already proving we deserve the benefits. The system is completely broken when winning your case is only half the battle. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and timelines - at least now I know I'm not alone in this nightmare!

•I'm so sorry you're going through this too! It's maddening that we have to become our own advocates just to get what we're legally entitled to after already winning our cases. I noticed you mentioned your claim status still shows the original disqualification - that's exactly what's happening with mine too. From what Gabrielle explained earlier, that seems to be the core issue - they have to manually update each week from disqualified to payable and there's a huge backlog in that process. Definitely pursue all those avenues you mentioned. I used that Claimyr service to get through to someone last week and at least confirmed my payments are "in process" but they're saying another 2-3 weeks still. Keep us posted on how the Bureau complaint goes - I might file one too if I don't see movement soon. We shouldn't have to fight this hard AFTER we've already won!
