PA UC backpay approved but not on Money Network card after a week - normal delay?

Quick question about PA UC payment timing! My claim finally got approved after dealing with an identity verification issue for almost 2 months. I have backpay dated for 6/4 showing as 'paid' on my dashboard since last Tuesday, but my Money Network card still hasn't received anything yet. The portal says 'payment issued' but there's nothing on my card. Is this normal? How long should I expect to wait? My landlord's breathing down my neck and I really need this money ASAP. Someone told me payments always hit the next business day after showing 'issued' but it's been almost a week now. First time on unemployment so I have no idea if this is normal or if something's wrong!

This is pretty normal for backpay in PA UC right now. The computer system shows 'paid' status once it's approved, but it takes 2-3 business days minimum to actually hit your Money Network card. Since you're seeing a 6/4 date and it's been about a week, you're definitely in the normal timeframe. If you just got your Money Network card recently and this is your first payment, it can take up to 7-10 business days because they're setting up the initial deposit. Check that your card is properly activated too!

Thanks for the info! My card is definitely activated (I checked twice), and I've had it for about 3 weeks now. So it's just a waiting game then? Is there any way to check if there's an issue or do I just keep waiting?

THEY ARE HOLDING YOUR MONEY!!! I had the EXACT same thing happen in January. The system said "paid" but nothing on my card for TWO WEEKS. When I finally got through to a real person, turns out they had some "additional verification" they needed that NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME ABOUT!!! Don't just sit around waiting - you need to call them ASAP. The regular number is useless though, busy signal all day every day.

Oh great, that's exactly what I was afraid of. Did you eventually get the money? How did you finally get through to someone?

Just went through this last month. After my backpay was approved, it took exactly 8 business days to hit my Money Network card. The UC website said "paid" the whole time. I spent hours calling and couldn't get through to anyone. Then suddenly one morning, boom - the money was there. I think larger backpay amounts take longer to process for some reason. How many weeks of backpay are you waiting for?

It's 7 weeks of backpay. Pretty substantial amount because I was dealing with that stupid IDme verification issue for so long. Hopefully mine just shows up like yours did!

I had a similar situation back in March and was getting nowhere with the regular UC number. After trying for days, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual PA UC agent. They got me connected within about 40 mins when I'd been trying for days on my own. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. The agent I spoke with was able to see exactly where my payment was in the system and confirmed it was actually being processed, not stuck. Gave me peace of mind instead of wondering what was happening with my money.

Yeah, it's legitimate. I was skeptical too but it actually worked. They just help you get through the phone system to speak with a real PA UC agent. The UC rep I talked to explained that larger backpay amounts go through an additional review which adds 3-5 business days.

Listen to me because this happened to me twice. The website can say "paid" but there might be an issue with your Money Network card. Have you verified your mailing address is correct on both your UC claim AND your Money Network account? I lost 3 weeks waiting because my apartment number was missing on the Money Network system but correct in UC. Call Money Network directly at 888-233-5916 and make sure everything is set up correctly. Don't just wait!!

Just checked both the website and called their automated system. Both showing $0 balance and no pending deposits. 😞

After reading through all the responses, I'd suggest waiting until you hit the 10 business day mark before panicking. But also follow the advice about checking with Money Network directly about your card setup. If it goes beyond 10 business days, then definitely try to reach PA UC directly. For large backpay amounts (7 weeks is substantial), there is often an additional fraud prevention review that happens in the background. This is especially common when your claim had identity verification issues previously.

Thank you! This makes sense. Tomorrow will be day 8, so I'll give it until the end of the week before I really start to worry. I'll call Money Network tomorrow just to be sure my card info is all correct. Really appreciate everyone's help!

That's good to know! I'll keep checking throughout the day instead of just in the morning.

I work for a nonprofit that helps people navigate UC issues, and what you're experiencing is unfortunately very common with PA backpay right now. The system is backed up and large backpay amounts (especially 7+ weeks) are getting flagged for additional review even after showing "paid" status. A few things to try: 1) Call Money Network tomorrow to verify your card details are correct 2) Check your UC dashboard for any new messages or requirements 3) If nothing by day 10, try calling PA UC early morning (7:30am) for better chance of getting through. The good news is I've never seen a legitimate "paid" status not eventually result in payment - it's just taking longer than usual. Hang in there!

This is really helpful info! I had no idea about the flagging for additional review - that explains a lot. I'll definitely call Money Network first thing tomorrow morning to double-check everything on their end. It's reassuring to hear from someone who works with UC issues that legitimate "paid" statuses do eventually come through. The waiting is just nerve-wracking when you have bills due! Thank you for taking the time to explain what's happening behind the scenes.
