PA UC Money Network Card issued but never arrived - what happens with replacement?

So frustrating! After 9 weeks of waiting, my PA unemployment was FINALLY approved last week (3/15/2025). The payment was supposed to go to a Money Network card that was 'shipped' on 3/18, but here I am a week later and nothing in my mailbox. Called the UC Service Center after a million attempts and they said they'd issue a replacement card. Has anyone else dealt with this? How long did your replacement card take to arrive? My biggest worry is whether the funds ($2,830) automatically transfer to the new card or if I'm back to square one waiting for them to reissue everything. Someone in my apartment building mentioned their card wasn't activated in time so UC ended up mailing them a paper check instead. Really need this money for April rent...

This happened to me back in January. The replacement card took about 8-10 business days to arrive. And yes, don't worry - the funds will automatically transfer to your new card when it arrives. The money is already in your account, just waiting for you to access it. The Money Network system keeps track of your balance regardless of which physical card you're using. One tip: when your new card arrives, activate it immediately! There is a time window for activation, and if you miss it, they might indeed switch to paper checks (which takes even longer).

Thank you!! That's a huge relief about the money transferring automatically. I've been panicking thinking I'd have to start all over with the claims process. Will definitely activate right away - how long is the activation window?

I nevr got my first card either!!! It's like they send these things to a black hole or something. I had to wait THREE WEEKS for the replacement to come. Called money network every other day and they kept saying 'it's in the mail' but wouldn't give me a tracking #. When I finally got it the money was there tho. Make sure u call money network directly not just the UC people, the numbers different.

I went through this exact nightmare last month! The replacement card took exactly 12 business days to arrive (I counted every single day lol). The most frustrating part was that nobody could tell me where the first card went - USPS said they delivered it but I never saw it. All your money will be there when the new card arrives. If you need funds urgently though, have you considered using Claimyr to reach someone at PA UC? I used their service (claimyr.com) to skip the phone wait and got connected to an agent who was able to expedite my replacement card. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 showing how it works. It was honestly worth it since I was about to miss my car payment waiting for that card.

I hadn't heard of Claimyr before! I'll check out that video - might be worth it if this drags on much longer. It's crazy how the most stressful part isn't even getting approved anymore, it's actually getting the money they already approved.

The Money Network cards are notorious for delivery issues. Here's what you need to know: 1. Replacement cards typically take 7-10 business days 2. Your funds remain in your account and transfer to the new card 3. There IS a 90-day activation window before they consider alternative payment methods 4. You can request expedited shipping (2-3 days) but there's a $15 fee that gets deducted from your balance Also, once you receive your card, I strongly recommend setting up direct deposit for future payments to avoid this hassle. You can do this through your PA UC dashboard under payment preferences.

My first card never came either and then the SECOND one didnt come too!!!!! I was so mad I thought someone was stealing my mail. Had to get a PO box for the third one they sent and FINALLY got it. Took like a month total. The whole system is designed to make it hard to get ur money i swear

While frustrating, this is typically a USPS delivery issue rather than an intentional delay. Money Network uses standard mail for the initial card delivery, which doesn't include tracking. For anyone experiencing this problem, request that your replacement card be sent via tracked mail - there's a small fee, but the peace of mind is worth it.

quick question - did u update ur address on the UC portal AND with money network? they are separate systems and i made that mistake. my card went to my old address even tho i updated it with UC

Oh no - I only updated it in the UC portal. Didn't realize I needed to update it with Money Network separately! How do I contact them directly?

To answer your follow-up question about the activation window - it's 90 days from when the card is issued. After that, Money Network may return the funds to PA UC, who will then issue a paper check. But that's plenty of time as long as you activate right when you receive it. Regarding contacting Money Network directly (I saw someone else recommended this), their customer service number is 1-888-233-5916. They can tell you the status of your card shipment and sometimes provide more detailed information than the UC agents.

Thanks for the Money Network number! I'll give them a call tomorrow to make sure my address is correct in their system. Hoping this gets resolved soon.

Just want to update that I finally got my replacement card yesterday! The money was all there, and I was able to transfer it directly to my bank account using their app. The entire ordeal took about 3 weeks total, which was painful but at least it worked out eventually. Hope yours comes quickly!

That's great news! So relieved to hear a success story. Did you have to pay a fee to transfer to your bank account?

after all this happens make SURE u set up direct deposit for future payments!!! go to ur dashboard and change payment method. the cards r nothing but trouble

This is excellent advice. Direct deposit is much more reliable once properly set up. Just be aware that the first payment after switching might take an extra 1-2 business days as the system processes the change.

I'm going through the exact same situation right now! My card was supposedly shipped 5 days ago and still nothing. Reading through all these responses is both reassuring and terrifying - sounds like it could be anywhere from 8 days to 3 weeks. The fact that the money transfers automatically to the replacement card is the best news I've heard all week though. I'm definitely going to call that Money Network number tomorrow to double-check my address is correct in their system. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - at least now I know I'm not alone in this nightmare!
