If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - if you're able to get your hearing changed to phone, make sure you're in a quiet place with good reception when they call. Have all your documents spread out where you can see them. Take notes during the other party's testimony so you can address any inaccuracies. And most importantly, speak clearly and answer only what is asked without volunteering extra information that might hurt your case.

I appreciate all these tips! I'll definitely find a quiet place and prepare my notes carefully. I tend to ramble when I'm nervous so that last tip is especially helpful

just wondering did u get thru to them yet?? let us know what happens!!

Yes! I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned above and got through this morning after trying for hours yesterday. They're allowing me to do the hearing by phone! I just need to fax over my doctor's note confirming my anxiety diagnosis. Such a relief 😅

btw what happened with me was that i won my appeal but then the company appealed AGAIN to the next level (the board of review i think??). just be prepared that even if you win the first hearing, they might take it further. don't let it stress you out like it did me - i won at that level too eventually.\n\ni was so mad because they dragged it out for like 3 months total! my manager even admitted during the hearing that several other people had gotten exceptions to the point system (which proved they weren't applying it fairly) and i still had to go through all that!

Oh no, I didn't realize they could appeal again if I win! That's stressful. Were you able to keep collecting benefits during that second appeal period?

That's really discouraging to hear :( Did he include proof of financial hardship? I'm hoping since I literally can't pay this back they'll have to approve it.

The key to successful waivers is demonstrating both that the overpayment wasn't your fault AND that repayment would cause financial hardship. Many people only focus on one aspect or the other. Make sure your documentation addresses both criteria clearly and specifically.

Just to follow up on this thread - it's also worth noting that as of 2025, PA UC has updated some of their processes. You can also email a copy of your waiver request to UCOverpayments@pa.gov as a backup to your mailed submission. In the subject line, include your name and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. This gives you yet another record of submission.

This is incredibly helpful! I'll definitely email a copy too. Feeling a bit better about this whole process now. Thank you all for the advice!

I just went through this entire process and finally had my hearing last month after waiting about 5 months. One thing I didn't realize - you can request an expedited hearing if you're facing financial hardship (like potential eviction, utility shutoffs, etc.). You need to submit the request in writing with documentation of the hardship. It didn't speed things up dramatically for me, but I did get scheduled about 3-4 weeks after submitting my hardship letter instead of continuing to wait indefinitely.

I definitely qualify for hardship consideration. My landlord has already given me a warning notice about eviction. Do I just write a letter explaining this or is there a specific form? And where do I send it?

There's no specific form for hardship requests. Write a detailed letter explaining your situation and include copies of any eviction notices, past due bills, etc. Send it to the UC Appeals office (same address that should be on your appeal acknowledgment letter). Also, after you send it, try calling the Appeals office directly to confirm they received it and added it to your file. Sometimes these requests get overlooked unless you follow up.

Good tip - I've been keeping detailed records of my job applications and networking. Should have all the required work search activities documented and ready to go.

One final tip: When you successfully file your new claim after your BYE date, there will typically be a 1-2 week gap before payments resume. This is normal as they process your new application. Make sure you continue filing your weekly certifications during this period, even if the system shows your claim as pending. This ensures you'll receive all eligible payments once the new claim is approved.

Thank you! I'll keep filing my weekly certifications regardless of the status. Really appreciate everyone's help with navigating this!
