PA UC phone lines surprisingly open today - only 20 min wait time!

Guys!!! If you've been struggling to get through to PA UC for weeks like I have, call RIGHT NOW!!! I just got through after only 20 minutes on hold. The lady told me they're unusually not swamped today for some reason. I've been trying to resolve an issue with my claim for over a month and normally can't even get into the queue. Don't know how long this will last but wanted to share the good news while it's happening!

Thanks for the tip! I just called and got in the queue too. This is amazing compared to the 3+ hour waits I've been dealing with. For anyone reading this later - if you ever see a post like this, drop everything and call immediately. These random low-volume periods never last long.

omg rly?? been trying for 2 weeks straight is it still working??? literally about to call now

This is actually a common pattern - Monday mornings and Friday afternoons tend to be the busiest times to call PA UC. Mid-week and especially Wednesday afternoons often have shorter wait times. Also, calling during lunch hours (12-1pm) can sometimes get you through faster as many people aren't calling during their lunch breaks. Just sharing some strategies I've noticed over time.

That's super helpful to know! I've been randomly calling at all hours but never noticed a pattern. Got my issue resolved today - they had my employer verification flagged because my last company changed names but kept the same EIN number. Such a simple fix that took forever to address!

I've literally been trying to get through for THREE MONTHS to fix an overpayment notice! Called at least 200 times and NEVER got through - always "all representatives are busy" then disconnect. The system is BROKEN and designed to prevent people from getting help!!!! Going to try calling now but I bet it'll be back to the usual BS by the time anyone reads this.

The PA UC phone system really is terrible. I had the same experience until I discovered Claimyr.com - it's a service that basically waits on hold for you and then calls you when an agent is available. Saved me hours of frustration. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. I managed to finally get my open issue resolved after using it when I couldn't get through for weeks.

Just tried calling and its back to "all agents are busy" message again lol. These windows of opportunity never last long enough! Typical PA unemployment...

Same here! I saw this post and immediately tried calling but too late I guess. Wonder if they just temporarily add more staff sometimes? Or maybe its just random?

For anyone still having trouble getting through on the phones, remember you can also use the PA UC message center through your dashboard. It's not as immediate as talking to someone, but I've had success getting responses within 5-7 business days. Make sure your message includes your claim number, last 4 of SSN, and a clear explanation of your specific issue. The more details you provide upfront, the more likely you'll get a helpful response rather than a generic one.

The message center is USELESS!!! I sent 5 messages over 2 months and either got no response or generic copy/paste replies that didn't address my specific situation AT ALL. They just want us to give up and go away. Only way to get real help is to actually TALK to someone but they make that nearly IMPOSSIBLE!!!

That's awesome! So glad it helped someone else too! Did they tell you why the lines are less busy today? I forgot to ask when I was on the phone.

Just a heads up - if you're calling about job search requirements being waived due to medical issues, make sure you have your medical documentation ready to fax or upload. They'll create a ticket but won't be able to resolve it until they receive your doctor's note. The ideal documentation includes the specific dates you're unable to search for work and needs to be signed by a licensed physician.

Wait they can waive job search requirements? I didnt know that was even possible. I have a broken ankle right now and have been struggling to apply to jobs just to meet the weekly requirements.

One more tip about calling PA UC: If you get through and then get disconnected (happens way too often), call back immediately and when prompted by the automated system, press the option to indicate you were disconnected during a previous call. Sometimes this puts you ahead in the queue rather than starting over. Doesn't always work but worth trying.

This happened to me last month! Was on with someone for 20 minutes going through my complicated issue then suddenly disconnect. Called back immediately with the disconnect option and got through to someone else in about 10 minutes. The second person was able to see notes from my previous call which really helped.
