PA UC payment shows transaction number but check missing - anyone else's payment delayed this week?

I'm getting really worried about my unemployment check this week. My PA UC portal shows a payment date of March 6, 2025, with an actual transaction number assigned, but here I am two days later and still NO CHECK in my mailbox! I normally get my payment like clockwork every Thursday morning unless it's a holiday week (which this isn't). The Treasury office is closed until Monday, so I'm stuck stressing all weekend about bills that need paid. Has anyone else experienced delays with their UC checks this week? What could possibly be happening if the system shows it's been processed but nothing arrives? I'm seriously about to panic... 🙃

same thing happening to me rn. my payment date was 3/5 and still nothing in mailbox today. never had this happen before in 6 months of collecting.

That's exactly what I'm dealing with! At least I'm not alone. Are you going to wait until Monday to call or try something else? I'm worried about overdraft fees if I wait too long.

There's actually been some mail delivery slowdowns this week according to my mail carrier. I'd give it until Monday before getting too worried. If the transaction number is in the system, that means the Treasury has processed it, so your money is coming. The problem is almost certainly with USPS, not with your UC benefits.

NOT TRUE!!!! The treasury can show a transaction # but still have PROBLEMS. This happened to me in January and I had to wait 3 WEEKS for them to "investigate" before they'd reissue my check!!! Don't listen to people who say just wait - CALL THEM on Monday!!!

This could be a few different things: 1. USPS delays (most common) 2. The check was printed but had an error that got caught before mailing 3. There's a system lag between transaction posting and physical check printing Your best bet is to call PA UC on Monday. Be prepared to wait though - Mondays are their busiest day. Make sure you have your transaction number ready when you call, as well as the payment date shown in your portal. If you've switched to direct deposit recently, also check that you don't have an issue with your banking information.

Thank you for the detailed info! I haven't switched to direct deposit - still getting paper checks. I'll definitely call Monday morning first thing. Just worried about making rent now...

I wasted 3 hours last week trying to get through to someone at UC about a similar issue with my payment. After getting disconnected twice and hearing "all representatives are busy" about 50 times, I finally tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) after seeing it mentioned here. They actually got me connected to a PA UC agent in about 20 minutes! The agent confirmed my check had been issued but there was a small batch of checks with printing errors that were being reprocessed. Might be worth checking their video demo to see how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2

I've never heard of this service before. Did they actually get you through to a real person? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

Yes, they connected me to an actual UC agent who could see my claim details. The agent said they were getting a lot of calls about delayed checks that week. Worth a try if you're worried and don't want to spend hours hitting redial on Monday.

Just checked with my neighbors and no luck. Mail here is usually pretty reliable too.

For what it's worth, I got my UC payment a day late this week too, and I'm on direct deposit! I think there might be some kind of processing delay at the Treasury this week. Mine finally showed up in my account this morning even though it normally hits on Thursday. If you're on paper checks I'd expect it might take another day or two because of whatever slowdown they're having.

That's actually somewhat reassuring to hear it's affecting direct deposit too. Makes me think it's a system-wide thing rather than just my claim. Thanks for sharing!

MY SITUATION WAS WORSE!! I had benefit payment delays for THREE WEEKS last year even with transaction numbers showing! PA unemployment system is BROKEN and nobody cares about us! I couldn't pay my electric bill and got a shut-off notice all because some bureaucrat couldn't push the right button or something. You need to CALL THEM and KEEP CALLING until someone helps!!!

bro chill it's probably just delayed mail 🙄 not everything is a conspiracy

Update for everyone: I just checked the PA Treasury website and they've posted a notice about a technical issue that affected some unemployment payment processing this week. They're saying all payments should be completed by Tuesday. Here's what I recommend doing: 1. Wait until Tuesday to see if your check arrives 2. If not received by Tuesday, call UC at 1-888-313-7284 early Wednesday morning (they open at 8am) 3. Have your transaction number and payment date ready when you call In the meantime, you can check your claim status online to confirm nothing has changed with your eligibility.

Thank you so much for checking this! That really helps ease my mind. I'll follow your advice and wait until Tuesday, then call Wednesday if needed. I appreciate everyone's help with this!

I'm in the same boat - payment date shows 3/6 but no check yet. This is really stressful because I have rent due Monday and was counting on that money. At least seeing everyone else having similar issues makes me feel like it's not just my claim that got messed up. Going to try calling first thing Monday morning but sounds like I should maybe wait until Tuesday based on what NebulaNinja found about the Treasury notice. Has anyone had luck getting through to UC on the phone lately or is it still taking forever?

@Jacob Smithson I m'in a similar situation with rent due soon too! Based on what everyone s'been saying here, it sounds like there s'a Treasury processing issue affecting multiple people this week. I d'probably wait until Tuesday like @NebulaNinja suggested since there s'an official notice about the delays. As for getting through on the phone - @Fatima Al-Suwaidi mentioned that Claimyr service helped her get connected faster, though I haven t tried'it myself yet. Hang in there, it sounds like our payments are coming, just delayed!

This is exactly why I switched to direct deposit last year after dealing with similar check delays multiple times. Even though @Sofia Morales mentioned direct deposit was also delayed this week, it's usually much more reliable than waiting for paper checks in the mail. You can set up direct deposit through your UC portal - it takes about 2 weeks to go into effect but saves so much stress long-term. For now though, sounds like you should follow @NebulaNinja's advice and wait until Tuesday since there's an official Treasury notice about the processing delays.
