When will New York Unemployment send 1099-G tax forms for 2023?

You can get your 1099-G online right now through your ny.gov account. Just log in and look for the 1099-G tab on the left side menu. Way faster than waiting for mail 👍

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at unemployment. Used this service called claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold, then connects you when someone picks up. Costs $20 but worth it to get my account fixed. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

They usually mail them out by end of January but sometimes takes till February. Last year mine came February 3rd

Quick tip: If you collected unemployment in 2023, you'll get a 1099-G form, not a W2. W2s are for regular employment income.

If you need to speak with someone about your 1099-G, here's what worked for me: 1. Try accessing it online first at ny.gov 2. If locked out, use claimyr.com to get through to an agent 3. They can reset your account AND email you the 1099-G right away 4. Make sure to have your SSN and PIN ready Saved me hours of frustration dealing with the phone system. The online system is actually pretty good when it works but getting help when locked out is a nightmare without some help.
