NYDOL account stuck on pending status, no payments received. How to check for identity verification issues?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment benefits. The automated message says my account is pending and I haven't received any payments. I've been certifying every week since I applied, but still nothing. I've tried calling at 8am every day for weeks, but I can't get through. Anyone know how I can check if there's an identity verification issue or something else holding things up?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you tried logging into your account online? Sometimes there are alerts or messages there about verification issues.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll check my online account again. Didn't see anything before, but maybe I missed something 🤔

•Good advice! Also, check your email spam folder. Sometimes important messages end up there.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It saved me hours of frustration.

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting hours trying to get through.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through or at least get you some answers.

OMG THE SYSTEM IS SO BROKEN!!! 😡😡😡 I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits. Hang in there, OP. You're not alone in this mess.

•Preach! 🙌 It's a total clown show. You'd think after all this time they'd have their act together.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Identity verification issues are common. Double-check that all your info is correct in your account. 2. Make sure you're answering the weekly certification questions correctly. One wrong answer can hold things up. 3. If you worked in multiple states or had a federal job, that can complicate things. 4. Sometimes there's a backlog of claims that need manual review. 5. Keep certifying every week, even if you're not getting paid yet. 6. Document everything - dates you called, emails you sent, etc. 7. Check if there are any new requirements or programs that might affect your claim. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

•Try calling at 7:59. Sometimes the system lets you in a minute early. Worth a shot!

Anyone else notice that the NYDOL website is always "under maintenance" when you need it most? 🙄 It's like they're running it on a Commodore 64 or something.

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you're not accidentally logged into an old claim if you've filed before. I made that mistake and was certifying for weeks before I realized I was on my old claim from last year. 🤦♂️

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know, I know, what year is it? But I actually got a response when I faxed in a letter explaining my situation. Worth a shot if you're desperate.
